Great video Arron. Good to see an honest Australian review when it is called for. Best gun show in Aussie for sure.

I don't know why anyone in Australia buying a budget centrefire rifle for hunting wouldn't just buy a Howa or Ruger American. Great review.

Other than the magazine being garbage on the 308 ruger American I really like mine. I've taken 4 deer and 5 hogs with it so far.

The newer ones have the adjustable Accu-Trigger. Love the honestly!

Timney trigger changes everything with thoss cheap guns.
I’ve got the savage model 111 in 30-06, and it’s deadly accurate for a cheap-O
    1/2 moa @ 100yrds
Not bad for a Bush, scratching gun.
    Great show my friend
Thank you for taking the time

The stock on it sounds very similar to the Ruger American stocks

Savage rifles come with heaps of grease out of the box. First thing you should do with it is hit it with degreaser

Aaron shoots a fair bit straighter than that rifle!

I’ve owned a axis 270 for about 6yrs now I use 130gr federal never had an issue with it had kills out to 350 mts at that distance it went through 1st animal and dropped the one behind it 2 for 1 prizes yes it has a kick as far as accuracy no issues here I bought mine for $575 with scope I have tikka’s as well just as accurate as them just have to find the round they like to eat in saying that I’ve only ever put federal rounds through it

always love when equipment fails before 100 rounds. aftermarket gear would make this thing a better gun but if you only spending sub 1k for a rifle 99% of the time you wont spend money for upgrades. savage has some good gear. spend a bit more and get somthing that wont have your mates larghing at you or do some research before you buy

Did you loctite the screws back in and shoot it again? Makes the accuracy side of the review invalid otherwise

When you buy a gun you shouldn't have to take it apart and fix it. The accuracy test was done straight after I tightened them up. Not good if they come loose ever 10 shots.

So you opened a box with a new gun incites without going over it and chucked a scope on it and just started shooting.
So you didnt try adjusting the trigger like anyone else would of done.
Go watch other shooters on youtube shoot these rifle's out to 1000 yards with a little bit of fine tuning .
A heavy trigger and a bolt falling out of the stock . that sounds like someone had it apart since you didnt inbox the rifle.

Thanks for the Warts and all review. That rifle is a shocker. For a couple of hundred $ more, about $1,000 you can buy some great shooting, mid priced rifles.
Last month Magnum Sports sold me a Special edition Tikka T3x Lite in 6.5 Creedmoor for $850, $1,100 with Picatinny rail, muzzle brake and 5 round magazine. As advertised in SSAA magazine.
In the first 50 shots I was consistently getting 1MOA 5 shot groups. If I dropped my worst shot they were about 0.5MOA groups. I couldn’t be Happier and consider it a steal of a deal. Great action and excellent shooter.

Email me the ad for $850 cheapest i can find A Tikka Lite for is $1465. $850 is below the shops buy price.

I’ve just emailed a photo of the advert, from the June 2020 SSAA magazine to your Facebook linked email. Let me know if you receive it. Also there are a couple of the other Tikka T3X models in other calibers at reduced prices.
The Lite came with the soft touch wide forend and soft touch standard sized grip too. Amazing value.
