What really happened is the tech messed up the head seals changing the plugs .The oil filled up the plug hole and then shorted the coil .Then the coil fried the ecu .Remember you were fine until they serviced it !!WTF
Mechanics 😥
The tech was his close friend I think he said.
Exactly
@@thunderpants007 My normal tech is. This was my first time EVER taking my bmw in to the dealer for service.
Or they are trying to sell you a brand new bike.
We’ll get you sorted. Sorry to hear about your ordeal
This is why I do all my vehicle work myself if even remotely possoble. Cars and bikes. All learned online. I've done valves on 2x different bikes.
Because no one will care about your shit as much as you will. Also, lots of saved money and it's very gratifying.
Yeah idk why I thought it was a good idea to take it to bmw for that. I guess for the fact that its a huge job and having it on paper is better when it comes time to sell is better than just saying a friend of mine adjusted the valves. Lol
Agree with you 1000% tho nobody will ever do the job like how they would do it on their bike.
I got my valve clearance check done 6 months back as pre service interval just to be on top of things as you should, besides that man just carry out all the routine servicing yourself that way you know you’re on top of oil, filters ect
Glad it’s all back together but, love the colour scheme man it’s second to only my 2016 s1000rr 😂
All the best man, big shout out from Australia 🇦🇺 ❤
Yeah which I do, like I said first time taking it in for a service lol
Appreciate the love! Happy Holidays & have fun on that beauty
Its funny you say this because on my last few bikes ive done my valves when the service manual calls for it so I can have peace of mine. They have always been in spec but have lead to bigger problems. My current fireblade is very low miles and i think this time I may wait a little longer until i know they are starting to go out of spec. lol
Sucks that happen to you man, but I’m happy all of it was figured out so now you are at piece. Now it’s time to go balls to the wall once you get the tune in from BT can’t wait to see what you have in store of us viewers
Thank you! I'm happy to be back and still have the bike after all of this.. Stay tuned for more videos coming soon! Happy new year.
@@FastFlowKC can’t wait brotha!!
I have had 3 bikes. Never have I done a valve check. If it’s not needed. Never do it. What a learning experience. Thanks for sharing.
You got really lucky you got covered. I guess BMW engineers diagnosing ECU are now scratching their heads who approved it to be covered😂
Thanks for sharing. I have 30,000 km done on my bmw s1000rr 2011 year, a strange sound from the exhaust only when I add gas, i.e. when accelerating. the machine otherwise works flawlessly in terms of sound. It is the exhaust that changed the sound, but the torque remained the same. I decided to go to a mechanic because I'm ashamed if someone who knows this engine listens to me. But very strange, cause no sense for me xD
It’s always great to get back on the road 🐺🔥😁
Im saying!! Thanks for tuning in
When you took your bike in the first time. The tech may have updated your ecu , engine and other modules. If he did that, it would ultimately wipe out your ecu flash. Because the update will rewrite over the ecu. I always ask my customers if they have a flash on their bike. For this very reason.
That’s why I work on my own stuff. Everytime I’ve ever took a car to a mechanic or bike it comes back worse. Had a bike act funny one time and they left wires touching the exhaust and it melted them and I replaced 2 parts before I found that they left wires loose and touching the exhaust.
Anyone else notice how he just casually runs a very red light at 7:20??
it was almost green
He rides your m0m.
Man I'm sorry that happened to you. Sounds to me like a lot of these dealerships for bikes and cars got people that don't know what they're doing and they're just trying to hurry up and get it over with. literally if the guy would have took his time in the first place it wouldn't have caused you all these problems. That's why when I go and get a new vehicle I will not get a warranty on it 'cause the warranties aren't worth the paper that they printed on. having to go to the dealership just so they can mess your stuff up is not worth it. definitely better off paying out of pocket for a good mechanic that you can trust and that's honest
Good mechanic if u can find him 😑
I agree man, its seems this entire world is filled with sht customer service even as small as me getting food 😂
Shouldn't even be laughing about it cause its insane to me, but at the same time its like why am I even shocked.
Warranties are fine. Saved me 5K on front suspension. Just read the fine print
Glad your back on 2's man and, yes a good personal mechanic is worth his weight in gold.
Thank you! You cant put a price on a solid mechanic that is forsure
Tech messing something major up while doing valve adjustment is a story I’ve heard too many times. I skip valve adjustment service never has a problem
Finding a trusted mechanic is one of the hardest side quests to go on
Glad all is good my friend! I have to ask, what gloves are those? They are sick AF! New SUB here also🤙
That’s why i prefer do my own maintenance even tough i’am amateur. Sometimes they fix what broken and create another issue.
Lesson learned. Ok I’ll leave well enough alone. I will not bring a perfectly running bike into the dealer. lol.
When people talk with their hands while riding i just laugh at how funny they look to others not knowing they are talking into a mic
One thing I've learned from owning a S1K is to make friends with a mechanic at a BMW dealership. I will never ever trust a 3rd party mechanic with these, doesnt matter their history or how nice they are, BMW just knows what to do
brother I am 100% convinced you watched 3 seconds of this video. This whole ordeal was from a BMW mechanic at the dealership
@@FastFlowKC Nah i watched all of it, just thought i'd share what i've found from my experiences
@@AllericEnslin Okay I read that comment wrong, that's my fault, thanks for sharing.
@@FastFlowKC No stress homie, thanks for the good content, ride safe.
Glad ordeal is over. Can I ask are you in Race mode with TC / ABS off for wheelies. I am nervous to lift mine that high even in race mode as I am not sure whether it will control it or flip it if rear brake isn't used. thanks
Yea I've heard horror stories about bmw. Even with my own bike the previous owner said they found the headset nut loose after coming from bmw (well his mechanic that carries out all his work on the bmw)
Don't think I'll risk it just for the bmw stamp in the book
The new ones definitely have some flaws and have heard horror stories about them. As far as the older gen (like mine) they have been solid to pretty much everyone I have seen that owns one. Now dealership horror stories, yeah... This was one of those.
@@FastFlowKC yh sorry my horror story was dealer fault.. Sorry people if I wasn't clear. Bmw as a bike is good soo far.
I own a (gen2 2017-2019) S1000R it's great soo far.
Also to add in terms of complaints from others it's mainly price or parts, service and repairs that they complain about not reliability of the bike itself. Whereas ducati and aprilas cough cough.. It's all of above plus, reliability, difficulty of getting parts.
They did so they could get paid my boy…. BMW BRING MY WALLET
Dang that sux. Careful in that Plaza area, they drive crazy down there lol…..
Just get a Honda and dont ever get it serviced ever.
Lmao realest sht Ive heard today
maybe the oil went in to the engined cuz not every bike can wheelie because sometimes the oil goes in the wrong system
Sucks to say but as a mechanic that all makes sense.. that all corresponds with each other. Should’ve been done right the first time though smh
Yeah would of saved so much time and headache on both ends
Man what a stuff around! Glad it's all good now.
Out of curiosity, how much difference does the bren tune flash make? Any difference to low down torque?
I will hopefully be talking about that soon in a video! But yes, stay tuned for a thorough break down of it.
This is why I went GSXR. Im just over fixing shit. Period. I bought a bike to ride. PS, I work for BMW.
Shit my bike is practically a gsxr, they based a lot of the build on the older gen s1ks off the k6 gsxr’s lol
When you are on higher rpm does the sound and power of the bike go back to normal?
Valve check if there is a adjustment there is a problem.
I’ve been a bike mechanic for 37 years bring it to me and I will have it like brand new xxx
That shop should of cover your tune. They cAn write that cost off. Plus its good business
Well I guess the service manager didn't want to go that route if that's a possibility
saw you jump that red @7;19 lol
That's why i don't take mine to dealers i have friends and me,That's terrible bro, that same dealer wanted 97bucks for a clutch cable ,got one 35bucks online
Sorry you had such a bad experience. I hate being in a situation where it's always your word against someone who is supposed to be a professional at their trade. Makes me feel iffy about buying the new one. I hope it's a good experience. Glad you got it fixed though. Do you have a handheld for your Brentune? Would it work to get just a new flash, or a cheaper way out than buying it all over again?
Yeah its not the bike my boy so don't feel stressed on getting one. Its just a testament on why I don't let other people besides my mechanic that I've had for 6+ years touch my bike. 25k hard miles and the first upset is after a bmw tech turns a wrench on my bike = do the work yourself.
Yes I have the handheld and it will work again to re flash it, I will just have to pay for the retune.
@@FastFlowKC who is your mechanic?
Japan. There is no substitute.
Happened wth me but in my jeep grand cherokee. Just wanted a oil service and put the stamp thats its been at dealer...Get back a cracked radiator and jeep overheating....Dealships my man :/
I'm in KC and ride a 22s1000rr. I've got a warranty but i fear for the time i have to take my bike in for service. Easy for stuff to go wrong
Soo easy it seems like smh. Hopefully you don't deal with the problems I had to, and hope to see you out on the streets this summer.
@@FastFlowKC I daily mine. If you ever see a green and bronze s1k, it's most likely me
ANYTHING I have ever taken to a "Dealer" has been broken by the Dealer. My first car dealer destroyed the engine in my car during an oil change by dropping a bolt of some sort intot he valve cover. My Local Motorcycle dealerships do NOT touch my bike. One service my BMW c-650gt and teh ABS module fell out and got destroyed afterward. Another did the tires on my Ducati 1199 and 500 miles later the rear brake caliper came off, jammed agains the rim and cracked it, then flipped over the top of the hub and cracked the single-sided swing arm....NEVER again will I take one of my machines to a 'Dealer' for any kind of Service. id o ALL my own work now. . even tires, Balancing, Brakes, ffluids, and the Desmo service.
Hello sir my bike is like your and that day I accidentally press the bottom “mode” and then after that when i drive i cant see the running speed on screen again how to fix that?😢
thats crazy
If it ain’t broken don’t fix it 😵💫😂 damn that sucks alot tho
The overthinking won 😂 fkkk
story time with BassPro KC
ah yes the time for stories
What shop do you take your bike to? I'm looking for one in KC for exhaust install on my aprilia
My mechanic does all the work out of his shop at his house. Shoot me a DM on IG and I will give you his contact info!
where can I get gas tank panels in white?
I would be kinda irritated with them man ngl. But atleast you got her back.
Man I was heated forsure but tried to keep my cool since it was out of my control unfortunately
Time to find a new shop?
LMAO, buddy casually rolls through a red light while vlogging like its no big deal. The good thing is they made it right and didnt charge you. Unfortunately you have to pay for that tune... ONCE AGAIN!
happy holiday and Happy New Year
Same to you! Thanks for tuning in
@@FastFlowKC ty can't swait to see what you get up to next riding season
This is why riders should just work on their own bikes…. It’s really not hard and great skill / knowledge to have and can eventually teach other riders and keep it going.
Work on an electronic modern bike?
@@the.communist I’m not afraid to work on an electronic motorcycle, but asking me a question..? You make it sound like “ oh no anything electronic needs special technicians “
I don’t want no hate, I’m sure you can learn it bud plus the 4 people that liked your comment you guys/girls can do it, don’t be afraid to expend your knowledge or skills. I owned a few bikes and the newest being a 2014 R6 and loved it, practically rebuilt it. I have a family now and priorities change and honestly got me a 01 Sportster 1200C because it’s just simple for me pull the choke, twist the throttle 3 times and she fires up easily with going on almost 76k miles and I don’t need to focus on the electrical stuff, no heated grips, seats, fancy gages… the bike does what it supposed to do get wind between my fingers and the feeling of freedom. The newer bikes are nice and all but think about it this way why add more stress because you want something fancy because I’m sure that issue stressed you out man. The older you get you’ll understand but for now I wish you the best and like I said, you got it bud.
They didn’t even use lube huh? 🤔 nice bmw… go Kawasaki! 💚🦾🥷🏽
Didn't even take me out first either 😂
I love your RR❤
Thank you!
Didn’t know you had a yt 😂
Aye welcome my boy! 😂
whoever worked on your bike needs to be fired.. it just sounds and seems that the work was sloppy and resulted in costly additional repairs, glad you are back on the road, bike looks nice 👍
Thank you man I appreciate that! Work definitely could of been a lot more thorough that's forsure. Anyways hope you have a good new year.
Glad ur bak homie 😢 maybe its time 4 a new s1k
Lol Ive been thinking about it trust me! Thanks for sticking around, Happy New Year.
I know it’s completely different but I bought a brand new new Harley and same thing happened I had them put on a full exhaust and tune the bike and they blew my ecm on the bike and had to wait to get a new one and this is on a brand new bike lol
THAT IS INSANITY! Its just them not installing wiring correctly. You would think with computers right next to them that give them full diagrams of everything they would double check shit before giving it the beans lol
Man I am quickly approaching my 18k service and this is scary to hear.
I will say a prayer for you brother lol
@@FastFlowKC Tanks man.
What color is your S1K? Is it a wrap or painted?
Its painted from amotopart.com They color is similar to a sunburst orange. I also have a code for amotopart fairings which is FASTFLOW and will save you some money if you get custom fairings!
@@FastFlowKC I’m in love with that color! What’d you do, order some more fairings and have them paint it or, sent them your fairings and they painted them and just sent them back?
@@FastFlowKCalso how’d you get your gloves and boots to match the paint scheme?
How do you know when your bike needs valve adjusted? Losing power I assume?
mainly what I've noticed is the bike don't start as fast almost like out of time ,some smoke ,
@blazekcmo6283 my 12 cbr1000rr takes about 2 seconds to start, but only on cold starts. And a bit of smoke is visible when i redlined it while neutral. It has 69k km and i dont think it has ever been through a valve adjustment. I bought it 6 months ago at 61k km. In terms of starting, it has new battery but I have not changed the spark plugs. Plan to change it when im doing valve adjustment
@@farelferdinand1089 spark plugs usually every 7500 _10000 miles which is roughly 12k km -16k km and yeah its pretty high mileage bike ,prob need to get that done
@@blazekcmo913 ur probably right. I plan to do it myself, but im still doing lots of research because it looks overwhelming hahaha
check every 12k. adjust as needed.
Why year is it !? Look really nice bike
2018. Thank you!
@@FastFlowKC got R1 2005 about to replace for BMW or aprilia ... a bit with uncertainty...
So basically, they took like a month to detune your ECU. Bummer, at least you got your bike back and you're riding again.
If you wanna chop it up like that then yes lmao
Appreciate you man! Hope the New Year treats you good.
An electrical problem. Electrons misbehaving.
Time for a different dealer
Bro just work on your own bike - simple as that! saves all the hassle....
Well it did have one careful owner so not sure how that could happen 😮
Lmao what... did you watch the video? It wasn't me or the bikes fault 😂
how many miles are on that bike right now?
25k
They warranted a flashed ECU?
Yeah and they will literally brentune your bike for you LMAO makes a ton of sense right?
The ole dreaded bike shop! I refuse to take any of my bikes to one unless its a suzuki & i have had great luck & trust olathe suzuki. If you are using the BMW shop there in kc which i will not say the name but i have heard horror story after horror story from bmw rider, they seem to have trouble with bikes leaving the shop & leaking oil.
What model is it?
2018
Wow.
First mistake, taking it to BMW
what agv helmet is that?
AGV Pista GP RR - Glossy Carbon
What shop was that?
I don't intend to slander anyone or anything ever on this channel unless its absolutely necessary and for a good cause in the end. And all through I'm not happy at all with the outcome of the situation, I'm not going to put their name out there for a few reasons. Anyways Happy New Year! Thanks for watching the video.
🤘😈🤘🔥🔥🔥
My guy always coming thru!
Title: it was a good run.
Video: The dealer messed up my ecu, and the bike is ok a couple of weeks later.. what a waste of time... 🗑
It was a good run.. Yeah 2 1/2 years of ownership, 25k miles and NEVER HAD ONE PROBLEM. It was a good run having a low maintenance, no problems bike.
sucks , glad its better now guess ,ill just continue to do the work cause bmw dude sucks lol
This is a horror story 😭
Feeling like I'm the main character in the scene where the victim falls avoidably and just slow crawls to their demise 😂
🥲🥲🥲🥲🥲
Bro they fkd up your bike, at least they paid for most of it
Yeah BMW has mostly been good when it comes to covering things like that fortunately. I had a 2011 s1k and when the fuel pump leaked they made me pay for it but reimbursed me a month after when they put the recall out for it.
