      fuck thats disappointing to hear i have the K67 2022 It has about 1800 miles on it so far but I remember changing the coil packs on my R6 it wasn't a super difficult job but anytime you have to get under the plugs its cramped working conditions finger nail gripping shit to tighten /loose shit LOL man I bet those coil packs arent cheap nothing on the s1000rr is cheap lol

      thats disappointing about the throttle assembly too those run here in the US around 700+ dollars before tax and install unless u do it urself my hope is you are not replacing these parts every 8,000 miles or its going get expensive

    Hi Seth: it's Tony and i was having the same issue with my 2016 S1000rr.the dealership had my bike for one years and they keep on horsing around changing parts that was never the issue.....I ended up fixing the issue myself.
    what I did was change out the OEM BMW S1000rr stock rectifier and stator for a set of after market racing stator and rectifier from a local USA company.
    and Wallah the problem disappear, and that was back in 2018.
    and I must say that I pulled the bike real hard banging through those gears and no problem since the bike has been flawless.
    it's really sad to see that the highly qualified BMW Tech is clueless when it comes to the S1000RR...lol
    and for the record I'm a commercial refrigeration and A/C mechanic and a boiler and pressure vessel mechanic and a motorcycle mechanic.
    (3 Trade license)
    Best of luck Seth.

    Maybe gas cap vapor lock?
    Make sure that the tiny breather hole in gas cap is not clogged up..
    Also check your kickstand to make sure the safety plugger isn't loose..

    You didnt have any warranty problems from the dealer with having a full exhaust and Brentune? My dealer definitely doesn’t want me to do anything to the bike to keep the warranty intact

    Hi Seth: this is Tony and a was having the very same issue with my 2017 S1000rr........the BMW dealership had my bike for three years and couldn't Rectify what the problem was.....I end up fixing it myself...and I'm also a motorcycle mechanic by trade.
    the real problem that you're having with that S1000rr is the rectifier and the stator you need to change them both.
    until you do change the parts, that issue will never go away and BMW do not want to get into that expensive repair.
    I swapped out my stock S1000rr steater and rectifier with racing reacement set that was produced in the USA back in 2018,
    and it's been 4 years and no issue since.
    believe me that is your problem 100.

    Its blowing my mind the tech didn't hook up the computer and then immediately read the code the bike is displaying! I have the same bike and they can see everything even when the back tire spins it data logs it in the computer. Ive got my fingers crossed they get you back on the road quick!

    The information about your coil issue is similar to the issue I have encountered with my 17 R. My excellent dealer thought they had fixed the issue by removing some carbon buildup around the injectors, which was the logical place to start as there is a service notice about that buildup and while it runs better that problem is not fixed. Will raise it with them.

  • @PilotlifePOV

    Seems like a fuel to air issue. Do you have an aftermarket exhaust? If you changed your exhaust you MUST get a tune. Otherwise it will fuck up your air to fuel ratio. The bike is running really lean at this point... You need the tune to fix that as there is so much more air with a catless system... Get it brentuned... Your issues will go away.

    • @SethMichael
      @SethMichael  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, it does have full exhaust, but it's also brentuned already as well. Originally I thought it was the tune that made it act up because the issue started a month after I bredtunned it, but I talked with bren and the shop and they both had the same conclusion. So we shall see!

    Not safe to ride a bike with that issue. Also, you could do more damage. Way for the dealer to upcharge thousands. Either it's the coils or the throttle- not both. Two separate systems. Should be a major safety recall. Could be fatal- easily at the wrong time like pulling into traffic.

    food for your brain. The 2017
    2012: BMW HP4. 9kg lighter than the S1000RR and featuring more refined electronics, it was the first production motorcycle to feature semi-active electronic suspension (shortly followed by the Ducati Multistrada). 2017: BMW HP4 Race. Aug 31, 202.
    The 2012 BMW S1000rr and the 2017 HP4 Race was hand made in Germany.
    all other S 1000RR was assembled and put together with parts from overseas production company.
    the only thing that BMW is responsible for the mechanical technology in the engine itself.
    the S1000rr OEM stator and rectifier was produced/ manufactured in Mexico.

    Hi Seth! Quick question on swapping out the full exhaust system so soon before the 36 months factory warranty expiration, does it hurt any factory warranty for the engine or you made sure with your shop that the warranty is still intact?

    • @chrisgoes9610
      @chrisgoes9610 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Talking to the BMW Motorrad service desk, you can ‘accessorise’ your new Beamer but if it is found that the cause of a fault is down to what you have done then this will invalidate the warranty. I asked because i fitted the Ackropovik GP shorty and also wanted to do the oil change myself on the break-in service. Same with the sprinter filter which I also asked about
