Coinbase is horribly expensive. Very few tokens probably caused by SEC's draconian cold control. Binance, KuCoin, Mexc.

I moved from Coinbase to Kraken in 2021 and I have not regretted it! Lower fees, good security, better customer service (which I infrequently need), transparency, and can use while I'm traveling.
Coinbase customer support is great these days, but it sucked back then. Email only in the past. Now, just a phone call.

So if we live in the us we have no exchange other then coinbase. Wtf happened. Sounds like they are just restricting certain digital assets from us . We all know once it gets listed on coinnbase it's too late.

Since you have mentioned the "safest" , It would also help to know the "Not safe" or mention the main shortcomings that you notice. Since if an exchange does not appear here, it does not mean that it is not safe, but it may simply not meet points on your list to belong to the "safest".
I think Binance are being investigated by the SEC or something similar. So that might be the reason.

US,UK and EU finance can’t control Binance so they stigmatize it. US exchanges will participate with government and you can be certain they will give the government any personal information. My trust is limited but at least US exchanges will be somewhat liable and take responsibility for security exploits or held assets. I’ll stick with cold wallet regardless The Binance native chain and variants work awesome.

So trust wallet. Which is owned by binance. I trust binance though. Not enough to leave money on any exchange though. But I stay away from bep20 💩 tokens. They are good for 2hrs then lose forever. Cmc stopped the recently added list or made it hard to find so I can't find another 2hr 680% gain. Baby doge coin. 😂😂😂 I didn't sell it though cos I didn't know how to set the BS thingy but I did get out almost 4x 70£ into £220 was 800+ at top for 10min then dumped.

Coinbase's fees are astronomical
wrong! if you are a very small investor then yes, but if you invest like a normal person the fees are quite normal and they don't charge withdrawal fees.
They certainly are when compared to Binance
Use advanced trade. Only simple trade has the extra high fees.
Coinbase one makes those fees basically goes away, and adds quite a few benefits, such as a million dollars of insurance.

I find it harder and harder to on-ramp and off-ramp from exchanges in Europe without chunky fees. Used Binance and OKX until now.
On-board with Nexo, then use their free withdrawel to move it where you want
Be grateful that you still can. AU & NZ banks have banned all on-ramping and off-ramping as they claim that the transactions are all 'high risk' and that the public 'needs protecting'.
