Fun fact: Ghasts were originally created as jellyfish for the overworld. The devs had trouble keeping them in the water, and thus they decided to dump them for a later update, where they added them to the nether. Maybe the usage of the word "home" is a reference to their former intended usage?

Maybe ghasts are ghosts who were banished to hell or the nether. Their cries are their grief and regret, them attacking you is them trying to keep you out so you don't have to go through the same as them

I've been using a mod that re-adds it in 1.18 and it works really well for atmosphere, since even the stone is darker below y=0

I hate how the background music in the vid gets progressively unnerving.
Some of the music in this video is from Doom 64. Doom 64 has very disturbing dark ambient music instead of rock & metal midi's of Doom 1 and 2.

A lot of the mobs in minecraft seem to be human or formerly human. Ghasts, skeletons, zombies, and the various ruins that don't match how villagers behave. The fan theory of minecraft as post apocalyptic really does hold some water.

And as Minecraft is updated, life slowly returns to this apocalyptic land. More passive mobs appear, life returns to the oceans, greenery and life returns to the caves.

I always interpreted "bring it safely home" as being YOUR home. YOU came from the overworld, and you're bringing a Ghast back with you.
Zombie horses sinking in water isn't a bug , it is supposed to make them consistent with other undead
i was looking so long for someone to point this out but also every horse cant hold u in water. I think it's because they can't swim with u on them, kinda like real life u have to get off ur horse and lead them through. But they can swim in 1 block deep water :)

The zombie horse not floating on water is NOT a bug. Both skeleton horses and zombie horses are able to walk underwater, which makes them an alternative to normal horses, as it is really hard to transport them through bodies of water.

I absolutely loved the void fog, you could do so many cool things like make a maze down there using the fog, it was dope as hell! I hope they add it back in its original form at the least.
female cows actually do grow horns! they’re typically removed/shaved down on farms though, which is why they’re hardly ever seen.
It was so strange to hear him suggest female cows don't have horns- you see them with some kind of obvious horns all the time in the UK so I guess it's a regional thing
I never knew that I've only ever seen Cows without horns, I've only seen Bulls with horns, that's interesting wonder why Farmers remove them? Maybe so they aren't attacked when Milking them or so when they're led to the Slaughterhouse they can't fight back? Poor Moo Moos either way.

males are normally on their own or with females, you don't have to worry as much about fights.

but you can ride skeleton horses in water so you should be able to ride zombie horses in water as well since they too are undead.

You can actually play the demo forever. You just have to reset the timer, by opening a second instance of the demo and load the world there before the timer on the other one ends. Now close the other demo-window and boom you got another 100 minutes in the same world

Theory: Wardens are just evil iron golems

Not necessarily evil, but my theory is that the wardens are decommissioned iron golems buried deep in the deep dark biome. The sculk that spread to these iron golems turned them into miserable, blind creatures constantly being misled by the sounds of the caverns. The sculk's influence over the bodies of these golems is very big, which also gave them the ability to absorb the souls of those they kill inside their torso mouth or "heart".
Also they are friends with axolotls for no reason. Probably just a nod to the "bad guy owning cute pets" trope.

Madi there’s no fucking room in a jungle biome, the ground is always covered.
They’re (jungle temples) still in the game though, I guess they seem a lot rarer because of how dense the jungle is making the harder to find. But in the jungle map (when you select a specific world) on bedrock you spawn about 100 blocks away from a jungle temple so they’re definitely still there. As for the jungle villagers, I’m pretty sure they wouldn’t exist again because of the density; but there is a unique texture for villagers born in jungles. Exact same thing for swamp villagers.

Hey, I just watched all these videos and they are great! Regarding the Ghast drawing in the Mobestiary, I bought the book because these videos got me so interested. The book says the Ghast stores fireballs in its stomach. It doesn't say anything about a cannon. In fact, it says the Ghast is almost completely full of gas.. As for the computer chip brain, that appears to just be the art style. If you look at the creeper cross section, its brain and other organs share this same circuit board looking style. Same thing with all the other cross sections of mobs in the book. So I would argue the Ghast is not any kind of robot.

It is confirmed that the End is what the sky dimension eventually becomes. Mojang was struggling on how to realistically implement day and night on a place with no horizon, as it would technically be always daytime as the sun would never go out of view. At last, they just removed the sun entirely, hence the black sky in the End. They explained all this on a video.
Here's how I would do it: The sky dimension is floating in the atmosphere of a gas giant. There's no solid surface (besides the islands, I guess) but the endless layers of opaque clouds below allow for a horizon and a day/night cycle.

Now that chains exist in minecraft, I say that we make an actual recipe for chainmail armor.
But then it would cost more then iron armor. If they are, then they should buff it and make it better then iron armor.

The "Removed Herobrine" was confirmed to be the devs removing remnants of the human AI and other things from the earlier builds of the game from the code. Fun little Easter Egg, but it's not super deep.

The chainmail crafting recipe always weirded me out as a kid and it still does today.
I always thought it was cool, I remember when I learned how to use console commands and I had heard about the fire recipe thing, it was awesome to spawn in fire as an item and see it actually work and get chainmail, lmao. Especially since this was even before it was technically obtainable through villager trades. Sadly no longer works since post-flattening they changed how fire works and you can no longer get it as a block (or water and lava)
on the "rare bioms" i once found three bioms with a village in the center where they merged, and the three bioms were: taiga desert and flat (or just grassy whatever you wanna call it) there was a village and there was a taiga village, desert village, and a- grassy village. i don't know weather it was three different villages in one place, or it really was one village with the merged biom theme but who cares, it looked awsome
What if the “Uneasy alliance” achievement is like this, The ghast wants to see its “home” again in the overworld, and then wants to be put out if its misery/suffering?

I think "Bring it safely home to the overworld" is written in the context of the player taking something back to their home.
An example of this is the phrase "I just got a new computer, I'm gonna take it home." Meaning the person is going to take their new computer to their home, not that the computer is from their home and is being returned to it.

I actually think the illusioner is one of the most interesting mobs in the game, considering the fact that it is on merchandise and still gets updated. It's almost as if Mojang doesn't know its not in the game

Holy shit, the horse update was released 7 years ago? I can’t believe it already been that long. Feels like it was only 2 or 3 years ago...
I left just before the horse update. I started on Beta 1.8, and went all the way round again until the 1.5.4 Redstone Update, where they added hoppers, comparators and stuff like that.
Now I'm hearing stuff like unique villagers, undersea temples, magic arrows, shields, concrete, boats with oars, rabbits, flying capes and natural Nether portals. What the hell happened?
I remember when it was released, I think I started playing just before they were added. (To the Xbox 360, that is.)

Also, almost every game these days creates an instance of a server that it then connects to. I first noticed this with Minecraft, as per error logs, but I began noticing it with a few other titles. I think it’s so that the “server” handles running the game; calling scripts, loading and unloading objects, handling spawns, etc. while the client part of it handles the actual player interactions

They’re gonna screw it up
Idea: the end dimension is the moon, hence the cheese like end stone, flying ships, and elongated humans (similar to effects that happen in space to humans). It is also why when you fall into the void you suffocate like in space. The shulkers make you levitate like the low gravity in space and makes sense why there is no levitation potions in the over world. The end islands would be different space debris and planets.
I like this theory but if the End is the moon, wouldn't there naturally be low gravity? and how would you be able to breathe there? and I don't remember the moon having a purple sky.
@@svenskaplastic Think about it like this, it's already been proven that steve is incredibly heavy and even on the moon it's possible that his weight exceeds being hindred by gravity, none of the flying ships have engines and appear to float just like they would inside space and I'm not sure why you can breath there or not freeze but if you enter the void you suffocate like you would in space, but I'm not quite sure what you meant by purple sky :/

The Nether scares me, it's so sinister and strange with many things that don't make sense existing there, there was a reason I never went to the nether when I originally played through the game so many years back

8:30 shattered savannas actually appear in Bedrock, although, there's a bug that makes the terrain even more interesting, as instead of a yellowish-green that comes with savanna grass, it's a bright green. This also applies to the leaves of the trees

For a long time I thought "Return To Sender" was a weird name for the achievement and thought it hinted at deeper lore until I realized it referred to how you kill them. Cool that ghasts have a little rabbit hole after all.
I think the first ghast was a machine that ancient evils (Evokers) put the soul of a dead adventurer inside and learned it could power the monstrosity. So they made more organic variants, all controlled by the power of foreign souls. Over centuries, their brains become more savage, and they have only 2 things on their minds: the suffering they've endured in this place, and returning home.

The demo is actually what I started out on and played for a long time until I actually got the game. The Minecraft addiction started strong. 😂 There's some good memories on that demo.

The only thing I want to bring up is my own theory for the Ghasts
As we know they are emotional and destructive, I think the builders from long ago decide to exile the Ghasts so they didnt have to deal with how destructive they were, as even a "tamed" Ghast could get triggered by something and end up causing an explosion
Back then they were mostly peaceful creatures but the years of being trapped in literally Hell has caused them to attack anyone in self defense

The player spawn egg can be replaced with a non-edited game command. You just type /summon NPC and a character that has the same pose as a villager will appear, allowing you to customize the skin and dialogue.

It's not a hate comment, it's a critique. Have you ever came across a channel that is putting very unsettling music, unnecessary sounds, made-up deeper voice, and slowing the tone (not saying he does this). Yeah that's basically what the last video are, turning a very obvious joke or even something not worth talking to a unnecessary "creepy" intention

I... thought it was obvious that they were constructs? Though they seem more arcane in nature to me. My personal headcanon is that there's a lingering spell on ocean monuments that causes fish that swim too near to mutate a complex shell of prismarine around themselves, which then take over as the guardians. It's why they drop cod when killed.

Ibx toycat was doing something similar to this and said minecraft might be set on a post apocalyptic future. He mentioned strange land formation like a nuke been dropped and mutated the land or something.
Maybe those shattered Savannah are where the nuclear bomb was directly dropped. Might explain the trees are drastically a different colour (besides the fact it's a Savannah) and why theres always deserts near Savannahs.
I don’t know if you’ll see this, but the “.” World. If you named a world “.” In an early version of bedrock, you could access a world that, when deleted, could be brought back by naming a new world to “.” (And, obviously, the quotation marks are not part of the name).
Edit: I was corrected that the “.” World was never actually added to your world list. The only way to access it again was to create another “.” World
I remember doing this with “world” in Beta 1.7.3. That was a pirated version though.

This actually applies to any world name. Deleting a minecraft world doesn't actually remove it; the world's data is saved in your user data while it is unlisted from the client, probably with some form of "Do Not Read" flag. Removing the flag returns the world like it was never deleted.

This is because . is a special character in file systems. Dot means "the current directory". The game does the following steps when creating a world:
1. Create a folder with the given world name in the worlds folder.
2. generate a world and save it in the directory with the given world name in the worlds directory.
When entering Dot as the world name, the game tries to
1. create a folder named . This is impossible, because . is a reserved name and cannot be created under most systems.
2. the game tries to generate a world in the "." directory inside the worlds directory. "." stands for this directory, therefore the game saves the world files directly in the worlds directory. This can, of course, lead to unwanted and strange behavior

There's a theory of the Ghasts actually being trapped souls in the mechanical network gathered from soul sand and to take it home, you're taking it of where it used to live in it's previous life
My theory for the Ghast, is that its some(extinct?)Animal from the overworld that was turned into a cyborbiomechanical machine, the crying could be the animal still inside suffering, and when you take it back to the over world you finally allow it too see its original home and it would play the happy sound effect when you finally let him die happy when you kill him
Do Ghasts attack you when you take them to the overworld? I would love to see a switched AI from hostile to peaceful depending on which dimension they are in.

With one of the entries a old villager is deniable,on bedrock which I use for my current device,they're were changed to citizens when a certain block is nearby they get a job which is nice some can spawn with no job but most of them are workers well still it can be possible the old villager entry is true.

It’s a cat. All the ghast noises are cats.
I've heard that Ghast noises where the noises of a Mojang developers cat, and it mad these noises at night.
They should make the giant an actual mob that can naturally spawn sometimes, and they can walk and everything. Maybe only have them spawn in a specific biome or something? Or just very rarely spawn
It was attempted in the 1.14 beta but they were too op and too out of place with the village & pillage update.
They used to have an AI where they chase you and you'd get killed by them, but they removed the AI
