I would say that there’s no way they’ll revert Reno’s text since it’d obviously be bad for Wild, but on the other hand I don’t understand how the fuck the original Reno was printed in the first place. So who knows?
It's a shame that old Reno is unhealthy for the game because I really like the flavor It's the iconic western stand-off between two cowboys in an empty street except one of the cowboys get to keep all of his goons... Why didn't they make the effect symmetrical?
I really wish it could be kept, because otherwise it's too easy for rest of the game dormant effects to be kept. We need some way to interact with dormant stuff, and it was a method to interact with locations without a specific tech card. It doesn't have to lock to one minion, but it really is frustrating it lost the dormant/location effect, especially because there was no substitute for the dormant side of it.
Reno going to 10 mana because his effect was broken and then removing his effect without making him go back to 8 mana is a crime in my opinion. "you're guilty you're going to jail, you're not? Whatever, still going to jail" vibes
You reminded me of the quest druid spam post titans miniset. I had forgotten how disgusting that deck was to play against. It really felt like wild was in the end times...
Hearing you talk about how great it’d be to have stuff like the old Even Warrior suite or the Symphony-Sargeras Reno Warlock back is a fun realization for me that my nostalgia for those decks was purely from watching you play them back when they were still around! Cheers to the coming rotation and reverts, here’s hoping we get some Chumbo Warrior on the horizon!
I wish reno could at least get the full clear back, even if not the one space. We need some way to handle dormant again. We need more methods to counter/tech/interact. I miss the old dynamic where sargaras couldn't just be thrown out until reno was played, for instance, because reno countered it. We need at least something that punishes dormant.
Reno would probably be fine if he didn't lock the board as well and the refresh was reduced to 1 mana. I don't know why you want brann and serpent unnerfed all I'm gonna say is I'd rather they don't because brann crushes decks that are similar and serpent is just a feel bad card if you can't regain any health the normal way and if demon seed ever falls off this may just come back
reno should be able to delete dormant things but not lock out the board it was nice to have an answer to things you wouldn't be able to deal with otherwise but the lockout was unfair
One of their main reasons for taking away clearing dormant minions is because of dormant starships being cleared. Like, one card that effectively negates the main support for an expansion is pretty broken
I miss the original version of Titan Yogg, not gonna lie. 0 Mana Mind Control is frustrating of course, but it was nice to be able to click Tentacle Swarm without it feeling like a mistake. Should have just made the control random target methinks.
That was just the tip of the iceberg. The biggest reason was it made swarming Questline Druid and Miracle Rogue nigh impossible. Giving classes with notoriously poor board clears a strong consistent clear (that scales) was a real nut kicker.

I have basically the opposite opinion on the highlander cards to you (though I agree them being uniform is most important). Cards that just get to be so strong without any synergy or thought should be more hate-able than other cards in the deck. It's 100x more interesting that Zeph is playable in miracle decks than just being another piece of midrange slop
I'd also argue that outside of maybe some miracle Druid shell, RLR would not be used in non-HL decks because of its prohibitive cost and mostly defensive utility. I also don't like the "starting deck" change, but for different reasons because it makes an already niche strategy and cards that were more intentionally designed that way even more pointless. There was a time where wild cubelock with Albatross was a semi-relevant deck, and the idea was to shore up the deck's susceptibility to strong grindy decks like Raza Priest. Bomb Warrior, Plague DK are a similar boat. There are techs for the tech too, so it's not like HL has no answer.
I don't know if I like the new highlander card text. It makes them completely dead cards when discovered or generated in other decks, which has already ruined a lot of games for me while playing burgle rogue or priest. Maybe a combination of both effects would be better, if they could somehow fit that on the cards.
even warrior was my favorite deck of all time. when they nerfed it i started to lose interest in Hearthstone. hope they fully revert all the changes including stacking Odyn effects in one game
reno still needs a nerf - it needs to be destroy all minions. question is if you want to make him 8 or 10 since at 10 it should not have highlander requirements. odyn should give permanent +2? attack to your hero(it should be able to stack) the attack will work during enemy turn. deepminer brann might go to 4. assuming its effect is for both players. boomboss thogrun should add a tnt to your hand. tnt 4 mana destroy a minion, excavate this stays in your hand. flash of lighting to 2 mana draw a card you overload 1 less this game. crash of thunder to 4 but now it deals 3 damage to all minions. still keeps the part where it is discounted by nature spells. awakening tremors is too much damage cannot be unnerfed but they can get rush if you want it to make a better card. shroomscavate cannot be reverted. especially thanks to 0 mana librams of divinity - which should be nerfed libram of divinity give a minion +2/+2 and divine shield this turn.if this costs 0 return this to your hand at the end of your turn. barrel of sludge revert to 2 mana deal 3 and waste remover stays 5/7 always a bigger jormungar punishes people for playeying minions so ideally rework to utilize the excess damage differently azerite snake doesnt have a counter card. which should be rework to og alexstrasza - 9 mana battlecry give your hero health equal to your opponents. prison breaker is dangerous to unnerf since its a board clear for rogue and druid yog saron should remain at 10 and be nerfed further - your first cast the spells and if yog feels suicidal you get nothing. we do not need reliable mind control in game. symphony of sins: envy - steal 6 cards from your opponents deck - up to your handspace so if you have 9 cards you only steal 1 card. tony can go to 5, but he keeps the new effect. lab constructor is dangerous - caverns below exists.
I still doesn't understand idea of reverting cards. If a card was nerfed it means this card was too strong or just degenerate. So reverting card will just either doesn't do anything for wild (and this mean we wasted development time) or make format even more powerful and degerate.
Being "too strong" or "degenerate" is something based on context, the context for the nerfs being Standard. The reverts come as the cards would be leaving Standard, and would be WIld-exclusive. They do not necessarily need to pay for their sins in Standard if they are not problematic in Wild.
the cards were nerfed because they were strong in standard, not wild. they are rotating to wild so theres no reason for them to be nerfed when they were fine in wild.
Cards are nerfed for standard. But ALSO. power level changes with expansions. Even if these cards were staying in standard for next expansion, some of them could probably still be reverted and see no play.
The Wild format has many radical differences from Standard. It’s not an apples to apples comparison. What’s good in standard can be unplayable in Wild.

With some of the UI bugs, etc when it was first released, I'm almost certain the effect WAS designed to be originally.

A lot of people are worried that Windfury in Paladin would be too good. But I think in Wild it would be too slow. However there is a risk imo.
I think they should just add all the renos as different cards so you can run whichever ones you think are balanced!
