“Some years” why couldn’t you give the figures? Also testing in the coldest climate in Australia isn’t a great test, take it to a mine in the NT and let us know how it goes in 40+ climates
Yes, sucking in that hot air out of that alternator should be good for the engine😂😂 already sucking in EGR fumes, and then you want to put more hot air in
Question, since the alternator gets hot, and the air you cool it with goes to the air intake, ie it raises the temp of the air going into the vehicle.. Won't that affect the performance as the car want as cool air as possible?
@@-Awareness how does a black snorkel make it hotter? Do you think the sun is going to make the air get hot as it’s getting rammed into the snorkel mate you need to stop thinking or your brain is going to explode with bullshit
Depends on the effectiveness of the intercooler, if it has enough capacity to reject the extra heat then no performance loss. Also, the engine consumes thousands of litres of air per minute (10 to 15 thousand if you are asking for peak output) and the waste heat off the alternator would only be a couple of hundred watts, so the intercooler should deal with this easily.
Hold up, wait a minute. You talk about the added heat with this system and then pretend real world testing in Tasmania the coldest place in Australia somehow proves its longevity.
Worst design ever, what were they thinking? Alternator down low in the mud and the dust. Starter motor in the valley where you can't get to the bloody thing🤬
@horsehead8306 That's my experience. I never had a problem with the H or 1HZ diesel engines. In fact, the HJ45 is still running strong for the new owner after my thirty-five years' ownership. Cheers
Thanks mate, one wonders what they were thinking with the original alternators.

PDP in Perth do a sealed unit that works well in their conditions
So many variables. It does actually drop the temperature down by 7 degrees.

Good eye!
No different to putting a black snorkel that also absorbs heat to warm the intake air…
@@-Awareness I'd say a massive difference as a snorkel doesn't get like 80+ celcius while an alternator very much can.

The PDP ones work really well in WA
Interesting video 🤙
O information on the actual alternator? If its so great why don't you have any information on the component itself?

Sold for a long time in WA, NT, North QLD. Not a new product.
It certainly looks legit. The biggest omission is the price.
which is very high at $2300
Still cheaper than the $4k water cooled option
@@blacktopimages so scary option
Isn't that still cheaper than buying a genuine Toyota one?
@@leonwayne7657 depends if you buy a genuine from toyota or not.
Looks very agricultural, one could even go as far as say it looks like a back yard job.
that's why they work.
Where's our old mate Alan?
Working hard at head office. Going strong.
@@brenthutchinson1844 great to hear!! Alan is an absolute legend 🍻
Why not use the cooling systems as with other options. 90% of Australia isn't in Tasmania, and 80% of Australian mines are in hot climates.
Is it compatible with toyota hilux 3,0 d4d diesel (vii generation)?
VDJ only.

The inline sixes are the best.

15 hours in the manual
Can't you just clean your alternator regularly?
How you gonna clean it in the middle of a mud hole?
then you don't know how they fitted the alternator in to 70 series.
I love a good mud hole
Can this get adapted to a 1hdfte ?
Unfortunatly no.
Why put hot alternator air back into the engine, we want cold air! Just blow it outside
Every tax time you thief's come up with some stupid gimmick.
😂👍 👌
Lol...so hot in Tasmania... 🥵🤡🌎🥴🥴🥴
