Any time an animal is friends with a human, it’s adorable. There’s no pretence there, just as simple as ‘this person is nice to me, I like being with this person’ it’s so pure.

The lizard has some age on him, he’s old enough to develop some brain power. My cousin had an iguana, it was a few years old, but was no good as a pet. He didn’t handle it enough for it to like people, he was just an oddity that we enjoyed watching him eat grapes. He also loved green peppers! But he had zero personality.
Just like dogs , they only act like pets because you feed them .

Nah, they aren't. You're anthropomorphising it. The head bobbing is clear proof that lizard is engaged in the activity of being a lizard.
Emotion is a valuable tool for survival, just like pain and pleasure are. You pursue what makes you happy which for most species is also what is beneficial for them, and avoid what you dislike which is detrimental.
this goes for most animals, we humans naturally tend to disregard other species sence of awareness, and once you learn to appreciate them you'll figure out how interesting every living thing on earth is.
Lizards and snakes and most larger reptiles are usually solitary creatures for most of their lives, because of this they are not great at being friendly. Despite this they are decent at recognising people and do slowly get used to people that say feed them or take them out in the yard, eventually they do get that we are not trying to hurt them. The only thing different about snakes and lizards from say a dog or something is that a dog likes a person because they need that social interaction, a reptile will mainly like you because you provide a sense of comfort or because you feed them. Reptiles usually don’t care too much about you, but they do care how comfortable and well taken care of they are. A reptile at best would see you as a nice person that they could feel safe around even though they wouldn’t care too much if you were absent.

My hands stay very black or stained because of the oil and rust on the steel I work with, I do wear glove's but I take them of for drawing revisions on the plans for the project I am designing and building. @@ianbrown1967 Not in this case, it's a sign of excitement. When aggression is presented, they flatten their bodies vertically and arch their back (to look bigger), then release a hissing noise. This is a greeting. Their nods have many basic meanings depending on posturing. I learned this when working with reptiles of this type for a couple of years and this type of behavior never resulted in an attack.

@@DaveDurham My neighbor had a turtle which was four inches in size that would come to him in an aquarium when he came home from work. The animal would come to the tank edge and move his head up and down. He would pet the turtle and it would go back into his pond. SO COOL !!!
