The defendant is not cool. He does things for people and agrees with the terms then changes the terms on his own because he feels he is owed something. Friends dont do that to friends.
If it was the Defendant's idea, by his own admission, to sit in the PLAINTIFF'S car and drink, then I feel like he should have taken half of the financial responsibility that his friend incurred, regardless of whether they agreed that he would buy the car afterwards or not. Clearly they were partners in crime, so it's only fair, from a street/friendship perspective, that you try your best to help him out. If you agreed to pay $2K for the ca, but only paid $1K, you still owe $1K. Simple.
@ReaP JoY yes! Like, tbh, I'm being a friend to you if I let you take the car out of impound and you still owe me half on it 😂 Only a friend would go for that, trusting that his homie would pay him back
I thinks it's deeper than that. Always have a contract/ clear communication when selling a car to another party (stranger, friend, or family) because when the money stop coming, you'll have a way to prove the terms of the agreement in court.
@@the4cqueen148 honestly, I dont see a problem with it. I've heard of so many irresponsible kids between ages 17-21 getting in fatal car accidents and other deadly situations because they aren't mature/responsible with alcohol.
What do you mean? He bought the car and the fees he paid to get it out of impound were subtracted from the cost and that was the agreement between them both. How does help comes in this? I’m confused 🤔
Lesson number one, everyone is not truly your friend. That defendant thinks he’s better than the plaintiff, and it’s clear as day. The plaintiff paid him back for the bail money, but he’s acting like it was a gift. He bought the car for an agreed amount of money, he has the vehicle in his possession, but now he wants it for a reduced rate like he’s some savior. They both committed a crime, and they both were arrested for it, but only one is on a high horse.
This story is sad. The kid with blonde hair is indignant and a liar. The fact that the young man had to beg his FRIEND to bail him out of jail for a decision his friend made is wild to me. They were never friends to begin with and if he continues forth with that mentality the Def. won’t have any friends in the future.
The defendant is a liar and manipulator. He's sitting on his high horse when he's being a terrible person. He's the type to throw it in your face when he helps you out. Ew.

When you did those things, for the benefit of you buying my car 👀. So you not paying me the rest of my money is justified because of what again 🥴🤦🏾♀️. That's why my circle is small
The defendant went above an beyond not only bailed him out of jail but got his car out of repossession ans still put work in the vehicle that debt alone should've been even! The plaintiff not. Real if you crying over $450 but yet you got to live in freedom because he bone density you out!
Drinking can lead to worse things in life which is why it's not a good thing to start. Hopefully they'll learn sooner than later or god for bid not at all.
Honestly, I disagree with Judge Mathis. I don't think the plaintiff should have won the money back. Because BUT FOR THE FACT that they were drinking in a car while underage (which is illegal) they wouldn't have gotten caught, he wouldn't have been tossed in jail and his car wouldn't have been impounded in the first place. I'm quite sure his buddy didn't hold a pistol to his head and FORCE HIM to drink the alcohol or smoke the marijuana, right? He WILLINGLY participated in that. And I notice the defendant was ALSO out money because he bailed his buddy out and got his car out of impound for him. And yet, HE was able to go to college. There's also a little thing known as financial aid.
Defendant is the type who will help you out, do favors for you, then throw it in your face later & use it against you. I hate when ppl do that.

I believe they were more than just friends. I got that impression from the beginning. But underage drinking almost always ends on the wrong side.
