In real life, some people have crows as familiars. They feed the crows, and the crows bring them "STUFF". It tends to be little token things, but I think they do recognize which items the person is more or less pleased with.
Outstanding video. Had me laughing along side you two and really put me in the holiday mood. I have to side with Alex, that is definitely Jim's Christmas wish list for presents under the tree. I truly believe Alex has been traumatized by Jim's campaigns, but he just keeps coming back for more. I can just see Alex doing his best Chip Diller impression, "Thank you sir may I have another." every time Jim tells the party they found a special treasure in the loot. I can just imagine Alex's adventuring party is heading to the local tavern when one of them sees a shiny gold piece lying on the side of the road and goes to pick it up. Alex's character shouts, "It's a trap." Jim, with the look of pure innocence on his face says, "You know Alex, some times a gold piece is just a simple gold piece." So Alex's party member picks it up and instantly an ancient red dragon appears from no where saying, "Why have you stolen my gold?" Jim, giggling evilly says, "Hah, fell for it again." Thanks for the updates guys. Looking forward to the next newsletter with antici....pation. Wish you success sorting out that other issue. Don't let it ruin your holidays. So Happy Christmas and a Merry New Year to your whole family, including all your subscribers here. We're just one big happy family.
Thanks, FF. We always appreciate your comments, and your support. Have a Happy Christmas and New Year and we look forward to hearing from you again soon.
I have used a Traveler's Cart. It is a small, two wheeled, single horse, covered cart that will hold up to 6 individuals and their gear inside. When I gave it out, one of the players asked if it was created by the Wizard "Winnie Baygo". Yeah, they went there. Merry Christmas guys.

The wagon idea makes me want to make a barrel of holding or chest of holding. It holds a huge amount but is itself awkward to carry around. Just imagining you have one pc or henchman who’s job is just to carry the barrel of holding strapped to his back into the dungeon like a backpack just barely able to move.
12 bags of holding 11 strongholds granted 10 preceeding henchmen 9 rings of wishes 8 cool familiars 7 resurrections 6-pack of potions 5 non-lethal draws from a deck of many thiiiiiiiiiings ... 4-sight spectacles 3 friendly dragons 2 rerolls on stats ... and a +3 holy vorpal avenger
I wish I had the great farmland irl, as I would give it to my brother, who is growing (tiny, indoor) pomegranates in Colorado! And yes, they have edible fruit.
Wherever you put a mine, someone probably already lives there. Coal mines frequently catch fire and burn underground for years, and some mines have uranium, so it might not be safe to hang out there very much. Also, some mines have ore of such low grade that they are never profitable.
I assume you've read "The Magic Goes Away" by Larry Niven. You should also read "Man of Steel, Woman of Kleenex" by the same author...the second one is short, and available free online.
@@theoldwarlock some of our crew live in the same area, or they play online? outside of field season. Last year we did a Kids on Bikes campaign set during the Bone Wars, with kind of a supernatural ending (up to that point it was historical realism). I think it probably depends on the crew, schedule, location, etc. It's how we celebrated Independence Day.
DONNA REED!!! Oh my word DONNA REED!!! LIONEL BARRYMORE!!! (Oh Nice shirt! Someone looks like a professional working stiff, someone who has a walkie talkie on their belt.) The player in me wants to know, if you wreck a Wagon of Holding does the spell break and all the full mass of what was in it suddenly come into existence?
My son is 1.6yo and I can't wait to introduce him to AD&D. Maybe one day we'll have a channel of our own. Merry Christmas, guys.
I hope the two of you do have a channel, Fabio! All the best and we hope you and your family have a great Chrismas!
I love watching you guys argue at the beginning of the video. I wouldn't skip that part.
Thanks JR.
Thanks Warlock! Timely! We did, save Santa from Auril and receive The Bag of Holding. I’ll keep these 12 in mind for birthdays and other holidays.
Glad you liked some of the ideas, Karl! Have a great holiday and play some fun games!

This was such a useful video. Thanks guys.
Glad you liked it Youseph! Always good to hear from you!
I have to say.... I was with Alex on that: Balrog! 😂😂😂
You're starting to get into Jim's head as well. Seeing him for who he really is!
Merry Christmas! Guys!
And to you! Will we see you at one of the miniatures wargame nights at Olympus?
@theoldwarlock Possibly...
Merry Xmas fellas.
To you as well.
Merry Xmas guys 😊
To you as well, Solomani.
Hey, it’s that time. Everyone try and give something to toys for tots, find a location online to give. It’s easy, you’ll feel great. Help a kid.
Totally agree! A great cause that makes you feel great!

Okay, we really like this idea (ideas). Struggling around with your barrel o' holding could make a dungeon exploration really interesting.
12 bags of holding
11 strongholds granted
10 preceeding henchmen
9 rings of wishes
8 cool familiars
7 resurrections
6-pack of potions
5 non-lethal draws from a deck of many thiiiiiiiiiings ...
4-sight spectacles
3 friendly dragons
2 rerolls on stats
... and a +3 holy vorpal avenger
Thanks for this, John! Loved it. Have a great holiday!
@theoldwarlock Happy Christmas!

I have not read the second. I'll have to check it out. Thanks!
I have The Deck of Contradiction, but no party to play with. Maybe this summer with the paleontology folk?
Back in my archeology days, D&D was often played onsite. I'm curious if the paleontology folk are the same?

I think that should definitely be a possibility!
Wait till the next video & then do the timestamp on this video. They'll never see it coming
Hah! Great idea!
