I love Big Lots!! 18 years ago when I was deorating my 3100 sq. ft. home two sales women at a furniture store advised me to buy the high end furniture pieces you really want, then shop at these wonderful discount stores for your accessories, and pulling it all together! That was excellent advice and I have found so many good quality decorating and household accessories!

I used to go to big lots about once a year until the lock down cAme . I started to joke that I was going to my boyfriends house ( aka- big lots) . I would go twice a week around 6 pm and I would stroll thru every aisle and every nook and cranny . I enjoyed the extra coupons and tons of savings. I had NO idea that big lots could actually decorate your home on such a great budget . I’m a healthcare worker and I was able to get extra savings off . My neighbors who could get outside I was able to purchase them everything on their lists . The savings were so great until I didn’t care about repayment. I honestly will say that big lots is my favorite store.
Oh, if you are there, TELL THEM please, that they need some young blood to help them with marketing, store floor layout and product positioning, reaching out to moms over youtube , etc. Like this video here. Instead of hiring some stuck up consultants, get a bunch of moms from youtube, they will create a cool concept and also make a bunch of videos that will draw WAY more traffic into the store. Biglots stores keep closing, they put CANDY on front aisles, and all the decor we come in the back. How stupid is that?? All matchy furniture sets are outdated, etc. You can get cheap furniture on amazon that's trendy. Introduce some variety. I saw their marketing guy - boring guy over 50 with glasses from 1980s - giving an interview about potential shopper "Jennifer" walking around the store. That tells you everything that's wrong with it.
Do NOT buy a couch from Big Lots. Take it from someone who knows. They loose all comfort within the first year. They suck! Spend a little extra for a nicer one or find one gently used. My biggest buying regret is that trash $500 couch from Big Lots 😂
Congrats on the new house👏🏾. We’re a family of four and moved into our new home this month (June 2020). Trash cans came from BL. I will be purchasing a new dresser & some entryway pieces.
As a grad student living alone for the first time I bought all of my furniture, decorations & kitchenware from big lots and have gotten soo many complements on things and people are always so surprised when I tell them it’s from Big Lots!
We got a big sectional couch for only $700-something that is super comfy. My husband insisted on a leather one though the same day we adopted 2 cats🤦♀️ so except for the corner that they wrecked when we're gone it's still a great couch 3yrs later🤣 hoping to somehow fix that one spot because the couch itself is amazing.
I work at big lots and honestly, our stuff, while some of it is pretty lame, can be pretty good quality. Our furniture is not to be overlooked, it’s significantly cheaper than most high end furniture stores, and it’s almost the exact same quality. In fact, some of our furniture is Ashley Furnitures as well, mainly the bed sets. We offer plenty of payment options that appeal to those who are able to pay simply with cash or card, to those who need to make payments to obtain the beautiful furniture they need. We also offer a credit card, so the options are very different, but all great.
Havent been in a Big Lots in YEARS but after seeing this video, heading there TODAY... MASK ON!!!! :) *really need the patio furniture covers as I hate waiting till the cushions dry out to sit down after a rain! *patio items since we're pretty much home ALL THE TIME we are outdoors in the morning and evening. I love big lots, but I highly recommend asking when their next sale is, and getting a rewards card. They always have a seasonal or monthly sale on the whole store with a big lots rewards account.
As a previous employee of big lots, i can absolutely vouch for there amazing deals. They even have clearance on furniture. The customer appreciation days that allow 20% off are 2 times a year. The best time to stock on holiday items are the week after because its all marked down. Even to 90% off. I bought 2 shopping carts full for $12!
I hadn’t been in Big Lots in a while ... their dry food section and snacks is insane. So cheap and so many good things. Also they have good deals on beauty products as well.

Saturday, we were at big lots, and they announced over the intercom that first responders and truck drivers get a 15% discount with ID. Not sure if that is everyday, or just that one Saturday.

I absolutely love their Christmas decor. It's outstanding and the deals after Christmas are even better. They have such beautiful items at Christmas and lots of large pieces and lots of gold and silver.

Amen on the rugs!! A few years ago, I pulled up my ancient carpeting and exposed the hardwood floors. At Big Lots, I was able to find enough matching area rugs, runners, etc. to do the entire front side of the house. Very affordable and they look great!! I know that would have cost me a small fortune at other retailers. My last set of new dish towels (I believe I bought fifteen) were in the color scheme I needed. And yes - 3 for $8.00. Although I love Big Lot's patio furniture/lawn accessories area, I do not recommend buying silk flowers at Big Lots as they are overpriced. This year, I got a much better deal on silk peonies on sale at Michael's. I took the silk peonies I originally bought from Big Lots back.
Fanny Pinto yep. But at the same time on the back end it depends on how the store is ran/district managers what not. The first Biglots I worked at in wa I couldn’t tell you who did truck, stocking. I was strictly night recovery. Here in nc we had to do it alllll. Truck ticketing stocking cashiering recovery. And by we on truck I mean all women including my mother who’s 50, no dock, in the heat or cold. Huge ass roll racks that were janky af to get the stuff off the scissor lift into the building. Some stores are just treated better than others.
Big Lots was AWESOME during Civid. When other stores had to close... Big Lots was open with very reasonably priced decorating & organizing items for my Master bath do over. Even got a yellow curtain panel to make over for curtains for a seasonal switch. Prices all good. They also had great rugged puppy toys & puppy outerwear ( rain coats) not to mention food items. This store was a life saver for me.
I couldn't believe the change in our Big Lots after the revamp!!! They also upped the quality of the products that they carry as well! I agree that no other store can compete with their prices on their plant pots/urns. Normally I look for that kind of stuff on my own, but the hubby & I needed to get out of the house and decided to go get some outdoor stuff we needed. We looked at big pots at Wal-Mart, Lowe's & then I remembered Big Lots and he was blown away by how much we saved on them!!!👍

I love shopping Big Lots, so glad you made this video. We recently purchased an RV and I bought everything we needed from cooking supplies, towels, sheets, rugs and decor all from BL. I recently bought one of the outdoor lanterns for $20, love it! I bought the copper metal pasta strainer from BL and filled it will other fun kitchen items as a housewarming gift just last week. The Serta sheets are so soft and cool, it’s all I buy and I’m picky about my sheets. My husband bought me a recliner to recover in last year when I had a major surgery. Very nice quality stuff.

I moved into my first apartment about a year ago and was appalled by how expense everything was, but didn’t want to give up on having a super cute home! I remembered that you had talked about how great big lots was, and so I went to check it out. I got a TON of my decor there for so cheap! Everyone tells me I have a really nice apartment but little do they know that I did it on a serious dime thanks to you!
I have two biglots near me and I rediscovered them after they changed. Nexted to dollar tree they are my favorite place to shop. Redoing my patio and loved the three container planter. ❤
I could tell the stores changed & their merchandise is more trendy, but I didn't realize it was because there were leadership changes. I remember buying kids clothes at Big Lots back in the 1990s. Within the past few years a Big Lots moved out of a shopping center nearby, but an Aldi's moved into the empty space, so it is still a win for me! Love your ideas.

Big Lots have come a LONG way from when I was a kid!!! The rewards, omg!!! So addictive!!! Also, paper products, if you can find the 75 count larger bowls or the 180 count plates!!! The organization baskets (clear plastic!!), it is exactly like Container Store but a whole lot cheaper!!! It is a sister fun day when I go w/sisters!!! SO MANY SNACKS!!! Inexpensive socks!!! I was able to find my nephew size 16 socks!!! The 15% off for military & healthcare works everyday till the end of June helps!!! I woke up to the notifications for this video!!! I LOVE IT!!!
Bought a smaller L-shape sofa from there just 18mo ago and have had to sleep on it as my bed for awhile---and it is sooooo comfortable! It has saved me big time for needing a place to sleep each night. The quality is Great for the price. Really nice people who work there too. I absolutely Appreciate their selection of everything in the store, Including home decor and furniture!! If you take time to go in there they have some Really good deals, AND cozy cute home decor choices!! I love Big Lots! Thank God they exist for many who love Pottery Barn but can't afford their prices. Great cozy home store with Big Lots, EVEN for outdoor patio stuff like garden pots and comfortable outdoor seating. Great store! And of course, Lots of kitchen goods, garden items, toys, some affordable dvd's, bathroom toiletries, and food too. Bedding, curtains, they really have it all. They usually have a Wonderful furniture selection, taking up 1/3rd or a 1/4 of the store. I'm pretty sure you can make payments to pay off your furniture too!! Just ask them : )
I used one of those wine cork storage boxes, glass front, hole in top to drop in the corks, as a memory box/shadow box. Gift for a good friend. I scraped the paint from the glass, used my own paint to make a saying on the inside of the glass. Put in several personal items of memories. It is very nice hanging on the wall.
The two brothers who started "pic n save", were generous, kind human beings. They had profit sharing, both in cash and in stocks, full medical, vacation and full retirement. All employees were full time, they got paid overtime, wages started at $1.50/hr over minimum wage, and when they hired temp employees for inventory, they paid the equivalent of what an employee would earn with benefits. Minimum wage was 3.35, and they paid close to $10/hr to those temp employees. When minimum wage went from 3.35/hr to 4.25, EVERY employee got a. 90¢ an hour raise! The employees were so grateful, they sold their stock to a 3rd party, and that 3rd party did a hostile takeover, and the brothers were kicked out. The first thing the new owners did was cut the profit sharing, cut hours, cut benefits and retirement was frozen. The employees had cut off their nose to spite their face. 😭

The prices and quality is amazing. Also, I have a ministry with my brother for almost 9 years and BIG LOTS donates often to our ministry so we can share with the homeless and those in need. I recently bought a Clorox Mop with a refillable bottle from Big Lots. I haven't seen it at any other stores. I like that I can use my own solution instead of having to pay at least $6 for the bottles that are use with a Swiffer! :)
Fabulous video! We'll definitely check out Big Lots when we are ready for new deck furniture! Keep in mind the curtains there are the standard 86" or 64". If you need longer than that, you need to shop elsewhere.

My husband and I have a one year old son, and we've been in a one bedroom apartment for most of his life. Our lease is up in August so, we're moving to a 2 bedroom. I wanted to give him a themed toddler room and most of the things I have gotten are from big lots. They're high quality, affordable, cute items. His room is bear/woodland themed. Big lots has bins for a cubbie organizer that look like a bear (saw in your video too!), Bear lamps, woodland blankets, a sign that lights up and says "adventure always" in their kid room aisle. It's going to be perfect ☺️ besides that, I got 2 items from hobby lobby because they were on clearance and only spent $10. I love big lots and can't wait to furnish my other rooms from their as well! I want to get a new couch, so I'll definitely check there because I saw one in interested in while watching the video.
Be careful with some of the higher priced items such as appliances, steam mops , and Vacuums.Make sure the price isn’t lower because it’s a refurbished item. Be sure to read the box completely.
I was going to say the same thing...usually a refurb or new but without accessories that are available elsewhere. Example I've seen vacuum cleaners priced less but did not have all of the extra nozzle attachments with it (crevice tool etc). Just look carefully!
We have bought couches that recline, a bench with baskets, our king size bed and matresses, end tables to match! Coffee table and end tables, I also bought that beautiful round table and chairs I fell in love with it!

Yes girl, big lots is the it place right now for great deals on great stuff. Broyhill furniture is made in the USA. Last time I redecorated got everything from curtains To placemats, baskets, and kitchenware. Everything went together and was so affordable.
My town just got a Big Lots! I used to travel 40 minutes to get to one for their spices! Specifically minced garlic - which is priced over $4 in most stores. Big Lots and Christmas Tree shops have it for $1! I also got my electric fireplace for my dining room there. $600 was an awesome price - most of the ones I looked at were over $1,200. It's hard to pick a favorite thing at BL. 🙃 one of my favs from this was the clean and sanitize vacuum cleaner. I live in a small apartment with vinyl wooden floors so this would be perfect. 😊
We bought our bed and bed frame. You showed the bed frame we got in your video. We went with the Serta stay in the box because we could fit it in our car plus we waited for when they had their bed and mattress sales at the beginning of the year. Instead of the matching side tables, we bought the kid’s white 6 cube organizers which were buy one get one half off. The same standard cube storage weren’t on sale in the store but it’s the same quality. They didn’t have the cloth cubes that fit in stock so we did buy those at Walmart on clearance. We also bought our silicone oven liner there for $6! It makes cleaning the oven so easy now!

I love looking at the variety of snacks and baking items. The decor items in the last couple years has really improved in quality and style. You can also purchase thru a credit company and pay it out up to a certain amount. Even if you dont have good credit score. Which is really great to decorate a whole room. And medical workers get 15% off everyday!! Woop woop!!
I love Big lots.I worked for them for 15 years before I retired.We get discounts and what savings.It is a great place to buy home decor and essentials for your family. I've shopped at big lots for almost 20 years now! I just recently bought really great sheets and wonderful floating shelves that I was able to base an art wall around. I always check out the bath stuff. I can get a knock off Dr. Teals lavender oil bath for $1 etc. I also snagged gift sets on clearance for creating a fancy little bath basket for myself.
I just ordered a new patio umbrella with a $15 credit and 15% off sale & it came faster than the expected date given😀. I’ve gotten so many compliments on it too from neighbors. Love Big Lots especially when the 20% off sale is on several times a year! It’s not as big as yours but very neat and clean and well stocked. Maybe the new CEO is making an impact. TYFS and stay safe.

I absolutely love their Christmas decor. It's outstanding and the deals after Christmas are even better. They have such beautiful items at Christmas and lots of large pieces and lots of gold and silver.

Amen on the rugs!! A few years ago, I pulled up my ancient carpeting and exposed the hardwood floors. At Big Lots, I was able to find enough matching area rugs, runners, etc. to do the entire front side of the house. Very affordable and they look great!! I know that would have cost me a small fortune at other retailers. My last set of new dish towels (I believe I bought fifteen) were in the color scheme I needed. And yes - 3 for $8.00. Although I love Big Lot's patio furniture/lawn accessories area, I do not recommend buying silk flowers at Big Lots as they are overpriced. This year, I got a much better deal on silk peonies on sale at Michael's. I took the silk peonies I originally bought from Big Lots back.

Fanny Pinto yep. But at the same time on the back end it depends on how the store is ran/district managers what not. The first Biglots I worked at in wa I couldn’t tell you who did truck, stocking. I was strictly night recovery. Here in nc we had to do it alllll. Truck ticketing stocking cashiering recovery. And by we on truck I mean all women including my mother who’s 50, no dock, in the heat or cold. Huge ass roll racks that were janky af to get the stuff off the scissor lift into the building. Some stores are just treated better than others.
Big Lots was AWESOME during Civid. When other stores had to close... Big Lots was open with very reasonably priced decorating & organizing items for my Master bath do over. Even got a yellow curtain panel to make over for curtains for a seasonal switch. Prices all good. They also had great rugged puppy toys & puppy outerwear ( rain coats) not to mention food items. This store was a life saver for me.

I couldn't believe the change in our Big Lots after the revamp!!! They also upped the quality of the products that they carry as well! I agree that no other store can compete with their prices on their plant pots/urns. Normally I look for that kind of stuff on my own, but the hubby & I needed to get out of the house and decided to go get some outdoor stuff we needed. We looked at big pots at Wal-Mart, Lowe's & then I remembered Big Lots and he was blown away by how much we saved on them!!!👍

I love shopping Big Lots, so glad you made this video. We recently purchased an RV and I bought everything we needed from cooking supplies, towels, sheets, rugs and decor all from BL. I recently bought one of the outdoor lanterns for $20, love it! I bought the copper metal pasta strainer from BL and filled it will other fun kitchen items as a housewarming gift just last week. The Serta sheets are so soft and cool, it’s all I buy and I’m picky about my sheets. My husband bought me a recliner to recover in last year when I had a major surgery. Very nice quality stuff.

I moved into my first apartment about a year ago and was appalled by how expense everything was, but didn’t want to give up on having a super cute home! I remembered that you had talked about how great big lots was, and so I went to check it out. I got a TON of my decor there for so cheap! Everyone tells me I have a really nice apartment but little do they know that I did it on a serious dime thanks to you!
I have two biglots near me and I rediscovered them after they changed. Nexted to dollar tree they are my favorite place to shop. Redoing my patio and loved the three container planter. ❤

I could tell the stores changed & their merchandise is more trendy, but I didn't realize it was because there were leadership changes. I remember buying kids clothes at Big Lots back in the 1990s. Within the past few years a Big Lots moved out of a shopping center nearby, but an Aldi's moved into the empty space, so it is still a win for me! Love your ideas.

Big Lots have come a LONG way from when I was a kid!!! The rewards, omg!!! So addictive!!! Also, paper products, if you can find the 75 count larger bowls or the 180 count plates!!! The organization baskets (clear plastic!!), it is exactly like Container Store but a whole lot cheaper!!! It is a sister fun day when I go w/sisters!!! SO MANY SNACKS!!! Inexpensive socks!!! I was able to find my nephew size 16 socks!!! The 15% off for military & healthcare works everyday till the end of June helps!!! I woke up to the notifications for this video!!! I LOVE IT!!!

Interesting to know that they've revamped their stores. The last time I was to Big Lots was 2 yrs ago and it was so crappy.
Trust me it is all still CRAP. Do not be mislead by this video their stuff is beyond CHEAP and falls apart within months
The stores look better now but definitely is a mixed bag, they have lots of good quality and value things but also a lot of cheaply made stuff.

Bought a smaller L-shape sofa from there just 18mo ago and have had to sleep on it as my bed for awhile---and it is sooooo comfortable! It has saved me big time for needing a place to sleep each night. The quality is Great for the price. Really nice people who work there too. I absolutely Appreciate their selection of everything in the store, Including home decor and furniture!! If you take time to go in there they have some Really good deals, AND cozy cute home decor choices!! I love Big Lots! Thank God they exist for many who love Pottery Barn but can't afford their prices. Great cozy home store with Big Lots, EVEN for outdoor patio stuff like garden pots and comfortable outdoor seating. Great store! And of course, Lots of kitchen goods, garden items, toys, some affordable dvd's, bathroom toiletries, and food too. Bedding, curtains, they really have it all. They usually have a Wonderful furniture selection, taking up 1/3rd or a 1/4 of the store. I'm pretty sure you can make payments to pay off your furniture too!! Just ask them : )

I scraped the paint from the glass, used my own paint to make a saying on the inside of the glass.
Put in several personal items of memories.
It is very nice hanging on the wall.
Been shopping Big Lots since it was called “Pic N Save”, and then, “MacFrugals”. Does anyone else remember that? Haha-is anyone else as old as me? 🤣
The two brothers who started "pic n save", were generous, kind human beings. They had profit sharing, both in cash and in stocks, full medical, vacation and full retirement. All employees were full time, they got paid overtime, wages started at $1.50/hr over minimum wage, and when they hired temp employees for inventory, they paid the equivalent of what an employee would earn with benefits. Minimum wage was 3.35, and they paid close to $10/hr to those temp employees.
When minimum wage went from 3.35/hr to 4.25, EVERY employee got a. 90¢ an hour raise! The employees were so grateful, they sold their stock to a 3rd party, and that 3rd party did a hostile takeover, and the brothers were kicked out. The first thing the new owners did was cut the profit sharing, cut hours, cut benefits and retirement was frozen.
The employees had cut off their nose to spite their face. 😭

Hi everyone! We have a BIG LOTS nearby and theres lots of snacks, clothes, jewelry, makeup and everything else you spoke about in our store. I have so many items from BIG LOTS! The prices and quality is amazing. Also, I have a ministry with my brother for almost 9 years and BIG LOTS donates often to our ministry so we can share with the homeless and those in need. HOW COOL IS THAT? What a blessing they have been.

I recently bought a Clorox Mop with a refillable bottle from Big Lots. I haven't seen it at any other stores. I like that I can use my own solution instead of having to pay at least $6 for the bottles that are use with a Swiffer! :)

Keep in mind the curtains there are the standard 86" or 64". If you need longer than that, you need to shop elsewhere.

Seasonal Decor and when you can find it makeup. Here’s a tip, always look at the makeup and the end cap food clearance items. You can often find really good deals !!!!!

My husband and I have a one year old son, and we've been in a one bedroom apartment for most of his life. Our lease is up in August so, we're moving to a 2 bedroom. I wanted to give him a themed toddler room and most of the things I have gotten are from big lots. They're high quality, affordable, cute items. His room is bear/woodland themed. Big lots has bins for a cubbie organizer that look like a bear (saw in your video too!), Bear lamps, woodland blankets, a sign that lights up and says "adventure always" in their kid room aisle. It's going to be perfect ☺️ besides that, I got 2 items from hobby lobby because they were on clearance and only spent $10. I love big lots and can't wait to furnish my other rooms from their as well! I want to get a new couch, so I'll definitely check there because I saw one in interested in while watching the video.
I always wait until Big Lots friends and family 20% off sale to buy any big ticket items like furniture. Hopefully one is coming soon.🤞🏾

Be careful with some of the higher priced items such as appliances, steam mops , and Vacuums.Make sure the price isn’t lower because it’s a refurbished item. Be sure to read the box completely.

YUP. I've been ready to buy and then see the refurbished sticker. And it's usually not cheap enough to warrant it.
I was going to say the same thing...usually a refurb or new but without accessories that are available elsewhere. Example I've seen vacuum cleaners priced less but did not have all of the extra nozzle attachments with it (crevice tool etc). Just look carefully!

My town just got a Big Lots! I used to travel 40 minutes to get to one for their spices! Specifically minced garlic - which is priced over $4 in most stores. Big Lots and Christmas Tree shops have it for $1! I also got my electric fireplace for my dining room there. $600 was an awesome price - most of the ones I looked at were over $1,200. It's hard to pick a favorite thing at BL. 🙃 one of my favs from this was the clean and sanitize vacuum cleaner. I live in a small apartment with vinyl wooden floors so this would be perfect. 😊
We bought our bed and bed frame. You showed the bed frame we got in your video. We went with the Serta stay in the box because we could fit it in our car plus we waited for when they had their bed and mattress sales at the beginning of the year. Instead of the matching side tables, we bought the kid’s white 6 cube organizers which were buy one get one half off. The same standard cube storage weren’t on sale in the store but it’s the same quality. They didn’t have the cloth cubes that fit in stock so we did buy those at Walmart on clearance. We also bought our silicone oven liner there for $6! It makes cleaning the oven so easy now!

I love looking at the variety of snacks and baking items. The decor items in the last couple years has really improved in quality and style. You can also purchase thru a credit company and pay it out up to a certain amount. Even if you dont have good credit score. Which is really great to decorate a whole room. And medical workers get 15% off everyday!! Woop woop!!

I've shopped at big lots for almost 20 years now! I just recently bought really great sheets and wonderful floating shelves that I was able to base an art wall around. I always check out the bath stuff. I can get a knock off Dr. Teals lavender oil bath for $1 etc. I also snagged gift sets on clearance for creating a fancy little bath basket for myself.
I love Big Lots! And I'm not just saying that because my husband works there. 🤣
I just ordered a new patio umbrella with a $15 credit and 15% off sale & it came faster than the expected date given😀. I’ve gotten so many compliments on it too from neighbors. Love Big Lots especially when the 20% off sale is on several times a year! It’s not as big as yours but very neat and clean and well stocked. Maybe the new CEO is making an impact. TYFS and stay safe.
