I used to work at Big Lots, and normally working there kind of sours the experience. But I LOVE it there! You went over mainly the furniture, but what I think is great is that the food items sold at big lots are applicable for the same coupons, and if an item gets close to the expiration date, they sell it for up to 50% off!
I worked there and hated the experience lol. But still like to pop in every once in a while.

I have always loved Big lots. I know at ours the employees did not look happy to be there at all. Their Manager was not nice
nor professional. I felt bad for them.
It was Very uncomfortable.
I didn’t go back for about a year.
I Went recently all new staff and completely different atmosphere.
Don’t know about management.🤷♀️
@@suzyshoemaker7804 it’s a very thankless job. We’re constantly pressured to sell their credit cards and get memberships for the rewards. There’s no benefit to us and we get in trouble if we don’t reach their often ridiculous goals. They need a new model, to be honest. And management isn’t pressured to sell them like everyone else. So the pressure falls on those making the least money.
@@suzyshoemaker7804 Echoing "our great little life", its a lot of marketing the credit card and the rewards program. The entire job is based around that. If youre not good at it, you're chastized by management. However, for me, I was GREAT at marketing rewards and the credit card. And as such, they piled responsibilities onto me. I was a minor at the time, and I worked the job of 3 managers. A lot of it has to do with how strict management is, but store policy as a whole for their employees is a nightmare

Hi Kathryn I hope you still do Dollar Tree videos. 1.25 is still a good deal. With all this inflation and astronomical shipping costs they didn't have a choice. I can't afford 8.99 or more for organizing containers since I am on a fixed income. I will stick with Dollar Tree for those.
Hi Melissa, I agree, $10, $12, $20 for things? Certainly not doing things on a dime! I’m in middle of divorce w/child, need to save BIG, plus IKEA has baskets and containers and organizational items for way cheaper! All that said, Kathryn, if you see this, we still love your videos, and you! Would love another or more IKEA videos, and any place keeping things as cheap as possible! Target dollar spot, for $1, $3, $5, is a splurge some months, but they have awesome items. Dollar tree and IKEA, and 99cent stores if anyone has them near you, provide great finds! And ….you are enough and loved.💕

Big lots is known in my area for patio furniture! The quarterly coupon is pretty cool! Thanks for sharing these tips! PS, for organizing, Hobby Lobby is jumping in on it, and has a lot of cute options for shelf, or floor basket type organization.

When my husband and I had just moved in together we discovered Big Lots furniture on a budget and that was 19 years ago. We just recently remodeled my teen daughter's room and we were able to get a few cute pieces there at a great deal.
I bought all of my deck and patio furniture from Big lots last year including that big oak gazebo on your video. It is beautiful and everyone loves it.
Big Lots prices on outdoor furniture is the same as Home depot or Lowes until the end of summer then they blow it out what maybe left. Except for the cushions they come back next year. Sales are good. My favorite item is the big box of Contractor bags. Now that is a deal. Never on sale and the price going up up, its still a bargain.
ALWAYS check the end caps at the back of the score for discounted grocery products. I scored 12-Ghirardelli’s brownie mixes for 62c each!
YEEEEAARS ago most of Big Lots electronics used to be refurbished items and I think that idea may still be in the back of some people’s minds.
They’ve definitely upped their game quality wise with all of their merchandise. We bought a patio set there a few years ago and the manager was telling us how their buyers are going to better places and being much more selective about bringing higher end merchandise to the stores.
I LOVE them for wall art, home decor items, and some of their international food items they carry too 😍
You looked at different things than what I usually do at Big Lots. My last trip was to pick up snacks. They have some different ones than you usually find at the grocery store. They have some good kitchen items like utensils and pans. They have nice bed pillows, sheets, and towels. They have a nice selection of pet items, too.
I don't have a big lots near me, but i am going to my the 30min drive. Thank for sharing all these amazing items.

I've been shopping at Big Lots for years. So I appreciate how the brands and deals have improved without totaly raising prices to ridiculous heights. Yes I too have bought clothes and even underwear. I found some plus size home bralettes that I just love.

Go back & try again! The one here really needed a remodel & I hadn't gone back for awhile for that reason but went recently & what a transformation! It was worth it especially with 20% off 😀

Another good video 😀 as far as vacuums go. I'm not paid to say it. My personal favorite is Dyson upright ball multi floor vacuum. I learned over the years when it comes to vacuums you get what you pay for. My first Dyson lasted me almost 10yrs. The hose finally started getting holes and it finally started making a high pitched noise but it never lost suction but it was time for a new one. It works so great. I have found even on old carpet. If I vacuum thoroughly. I almost never get lint or hair in the squeegee of the steam cleaning machine. So far I think Bissell pro heat 2x revolution pet pro is the best. You get a better deal and more accessories buying straight from Dyson and Bissell.

As a current biglots employee. Here is a few things most people don't know. Biglots sales start on a Saturday and end on a Saturday. Biglots WILL let you do a price hold on items. Biglots starts put out spring out door items right after Christmas. The clearance isles have great finds.
I have to two Big Lots in town and go there all the time. Never come out of there empty handed. Pictures, pillows and throws, decorations and modern plants. They’ve added a classiness to their inventory.
I LOVE Big Lots and they closed the one near me years ago 😩
Great deals on everything especially the furniture-a lot comes from Ashley Furniture which is not cheap stuff. Also if you sign up for email they send a lot of discount coupons
