- This video shows how to make a traditional Vendaya/Methi dosa. this is super soft and spongy . the best part it is you need No Oil for making these dosas, making them very healthy too.I have only smeared a drop of oil on the tava at the beginning as it is an iron pan.
Ingredients
Idli Rice 1 Cup
Methi/Fenugreek seeds 1 tbsp
Salt to taste
For chutney
Fresh coconut 1/2
Green chillies 3
Ginger a small piece
Roasted gram 2 tbsp
Salt
Oil 1 Tsp
Mustard seeds 1/4 tsp
urad dal 1/4 tsp
Dry red chilli 1

Being diabetic: I thank you Gita Ma'am for the wonderful recipes you share for us!🙏🙏🙏
🙏❤️👍I am Ramachandran from Kerala. This is a traditional recipe in Kerala a favourite among the people especially those who have jobs and duties in temple. Usually those people don't use bengal gram/urad dal for making dosas. Neither do they use onions for the preparation of eateries. Now a lot of things have changed. Now a days they use plenty of onions and urad dal daily.
I subscribed to your Channel recently ie one week ago and yesterday I watched your video about positive vibrations in the mind by illustrating a story of Raja Vikramaditya and sandalwood trader. What you said is right and I felt such a feeling on many occasions.
Wish you all the best
With regards and love from Ramachandran
Thank you Sir

Now I must go and hunt for Idli rice here in Canada, this dish looks so healthy and Yummy. Thank you Gita ji again for an interesting plan.
You can try with regular rice. I do use different kinds of rice for my dosa, depending on what is available in my kitchen, or depending on what I want to use up. It changes the flavor and texture a bit, but is okay if you don't have access to idli / parboiled rice.
@@writersinc.3567 That is good to know. I had been wondering whether it is important to use idli rice. So that means actually any rice will do? Jasmine, basmati, or short grain rice?
@@Maria-qm4kc Yup.... give it a try... you'll figure out by trial-and-error which ones work if you don't have parboiled rice. Coz it also depends on how old the rice is and other such factors...
@@writersinc.3567 Thanks very much!!
Gita ji, to my question, I have received a reply from Writers Inc. Any association with you? Thanks ji. And yes, idli rice is available here. So glad to know that.

It tastes best when prepared with ghee and ghee is a very healthy fat which should be consumed for good absorption of fat soluble vitamins, to increase HDL cholesterol and other digestive benefits of ghee.
i love all your preparations. but a small doubt , is the dosa not bitter to taste ?
No,Methi seeds don't taste bitter after soaking

Aap tava ke upar thoda oil dalke uske ek onion cut karke sek lijiye. Phir uske phenk de. Uske baad use karen

Gita ji,today i made buttermilk dosa .It was really very nice nd everyone liked it.only problm i face everytime is abt fermentation..Here in North its a big problm that batter doesn't get fermented easily. I used Eno even in buttermilk dosa batter....what i should do for good fermentation??
In cold weather cover the batter bowl with a warm blanket and leave it to ferment
