21:42 I really want to thank you for honoring my step fathers memory and accepting my donation! It means so much that you really care about your viewers I've been a 1.5 Year plus viewer and will be sticking around to see your awesome work brother Keep it up! Cant wait to see what you have in store for this laptop hopefully you can find the charger and media remote that this laptop came with originally, sadly I could not find it. Office 4.2 is close enough to one of my all-time favorite versions, which is 4.3 that additionally includes Access. It was the final version of Office that can run on Windows 3.x. I mainly use it for Excel 5.0, which is functionally equivalent to Excel 95 for the most part.
@@otherssingpuree1779 I create about 95% of my spreadsheets in Excel 5.0 from Office 4.3 on a 486 so that I can open them on just about anything. Only rarely do I need any features from Excel 97 (such as merged cells.) And even more rarely I use the 2007 compatibility pack add-on to open newer formats from others, which happens to work over Office 97.
10:16 Thank true ink for that. Even completely protected from sunlight, a thermally printed one would not have made it to the end of the '90s being readable...
Hi Michael, I have been working on NTlite for some time and also a few file modifications for Windows 10, 21h2 to be exact and I am thinking of making a super stripped down version of Windows which can indeed work on retro pcs to remotely resurrect them to modern usable levels I will probably try to figure out the missing instruction sets and some minimum requirements bypass and I feel kinda confident so if I gave you a "working" copy of Windows 10 for $5 98 pc will you mind testing it out?. I have got the drivers you use for the 98 PC so I can just embed them into the os so it doesn't give any installation errors.
I’m a big fan of LGR, and I’ve been a subscriber to his channel for many years. What I don’t understand is why TH-cam’s algorithm took so long to recommend your channel. I love your content! Subscribed!
It was our first laptop in the house I remember being so excited using it and actually undocking it and trying to use it around the house with it’s super Long lasting battery with a whopping 35 minute battery operating Time lol
But glad to see the Unboxing of the Betamax Tapes Michael! you know i never realized that the Rocky IV Betamax Box was a Rocky IV VHS Tape Box! But yea your welcome! the College Dictionary did contain Floppy Disks on the Back of the Dictionary to i presume if memory is correct to let you access the Dictionary on Your PC via 3.5 inch Floppy Disks!
18:09 in case you didn’t know, I’m pretty sure at the end of both BetaMax and VHS’ “lives” (when dvd was taking over the market), they started using VHS boxes for Betamax tapes so that the budget could be even lower for a fundamentally dead format. However, don’t take what I’m saying as 100% true because it’s something I heard a while ago and it is possible that what I am saying is wrong.
I was given a Bang & Olufsen Betamax machine years ago and I remember that the tapes we had in this country were double sided, just like an audio cassette. In some way I thought that Beta system was giving a better quality picture than VHS did.
@@rstvproductions8334 the line and colour resolution was the same as VHS, but they did have patented tracking stabilisation which allowed the tracks to be laid closer together (which is what enabled “side B” - instead of higher quality they went for longer runtime).
office 97 pro is my favorite, There is so much stuff optional stuff it makes your head spin. I installed it all just to see and always wondered who would use all the extras.. ps. If I were closer I would help ya try and format all those floppys.. lol.. I have done that with mine in the past.. funny all the tiny fun programs i found.
That's a nice legacy software collection you got there Michael. I can't wait to see the Microsoft Office 4.2 floppy collection (which I previously mentioned before the reupload, the reason why Office 4.2 likely had 27 floppies instead of 46 was likely because it was the Standard Edition as opposed to the Professional Edition like the one from the Office 97 floppy collection video). Either way, I can't wait so see it. I'm also curious to see the box opening of Microsoft FrontPage 98 as well and the Microsoft Greetings 2000 program and even the Sony Vaio laptop as well as the Betamax tape overview once you get a working Betamax VCR (as long as the TH-cam Copyright Police stays away). It's a shame the previous video somehow got corrupted. When I saw the video from when it was originally uploaded earlier this week, it seemed to play fine on my computer. Either way, thanks for sharing with us Michael. Keep up the good work as always!
10:35 This is maybe belated and someone might have already commented the same thing, but the character is dubbed by a voice actor/singer named "Nana Mizuki", because her first name is pronounced in the same way as the number 7 in Japanese.

I was confused for a second and thought I traveled thought time, but nah it was just TH-cam being weird- In any case, the video is very interesting and will watch it fully again, but holy hell the manuals are so thick- The stickers are so adorable as well. All praise to the artist, she is very talented^^
@ 6:56 I Think We Really Start learning The Most Important Things After math class. I Still Do Not Use Anything I Learned In Math Class. Re-uploaded because TH-cam screwed up the last version of this video.
I'm OK with this. Now I can be early without waiting till 3AM. lmao
kinda crazy that I didn't watched the video yet, had a gut feeling that something was wrong in the last version of this video
this is scientific evidence that youtube is collapsing in on itself
I dislike youtube.
oh wait I can't anymore.
yep video was frozen

Do you use office 4.3?

Shame YT screwed your video but I was able to watch the old one in full! Thanks for the great content MJD.

The reason is you have office 2000 Standard, while you had office 97 Professional which had an additional application - Access
Oh wow. Just up to a couple years ago I still had an unopened 4 pack of Maxwell VHS blanks.
