    I see where Ford is going. Maverick Lariet was what the old Ranger used to cost. The new Ranger Lariet now costs what the F-150 used to. The F-150 is now priced beyond what normal folks can afford. What a scam!

      When Ford discontinued the old model Ranger in 2011 - that was their main goal: to re-introduce it 7 or 8 years down the line at DOUBLE MSRP.

      Bingo! This is what happens when arrogant MBA’s have to justify their lovely pay check and aspire to get into the Ford inner circle for even higher bonuses and stock options. These mutts only care about their own existence and NOT the consumer. The love of money is the root of all evil.

    Just went over to Dealership and my order is rollover to 2023 or 2024 and price stay the same. Salesman told me, last year received 120 were received and delivered around 70 give and take… pretty good chance of getting one next round. My guess is that if you didn’t get one, go ahead and rollover to next year and sell it if you are not happy. Demand will still be there. Good luck!

    My XLT hybrid with bap, lux, 360, with drop in bedliner which I ordered back in sept is slated for production next week. Very glad I am getting delivery in 23. The prices are getting to the point where the maverick is losing its appeal. The only redesign I was waiting for was a awe hybrid that would have been exciting and worth waiting for.

  • @gened7756
    @gened7756 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    I ordered a XLT hybrid on sept 19th, 2022 when the order banks were open. I haven't heard anything from the salesman or ford since then. No e-mail from ford --nothing. So I stopped in to talk to the salesman on June 27th, to find out if he heard anything or if my 23 may turn into a 24. He say let me go check and walk away. He came back about 4 minutes later and said your truck is built. It should be here in a couple weeks. I nearly fell off my chair. I was glad, but wished Ford would have contacted me with a vin number, built date etc.

I'd also give a shoutout to Johnny's car care and reviews, since he works for Ford up in Canada, but gives out solid information on Fords and he also works quite a bit with Tim Bartz. In regard to the changes for 2024, I'm happy that I got my 2022 order a few months ago as a 2023. I was thinking about selling my Maverick, but I've decided to keep it since cars are only getting more expensive in today's market.

    My 2023 XL Hybrid just got off the slow train from Mexico and is now somewhere between the depoe (if it's left yet) and the dealership. The dealer missed one of my requested options but that is on me for not inspecting the order in detail and "assuming" but it's not a deal killer. I’m done with the Ford maverick truck especially the Hybrid version. After ordering two of these trucks on the Ford website. I ordered a 2022XLT, then a 2023 XLT ,Then the dealer got them in and decided that they could sell them for market value never mind I ordered this truck for me. Well they said you don’t wanna pay MSRP fine we sell it for 10,000 over MSRP all day long. I told them they could take their truck and shove it both times. I am so tired of Ford dealers being greedy. I’m sure a lot of other people are done with them as well after I ordered two trucks and never got one for myself so there will be no 2020for ordering for me.

      you didn't want to pay msrp? you ordered it with them and you're supposed to get a copd which states that it will be sold at msrp to you. If they sold the truck w/out informing you it had arrived that's another story, but it sounds like you tried to get them to lower the price from msrp.. in this case, they readily welcome you to walk away because they can sell the mav for a lot more than msrp to someone else.

    Isn't funny that Ford opened the Maverick orders in 2021 for $20K to $30K offering (depending on model and equipment) the Hybrid as base engine with 30-50 MPG. BUT Ford just could not make them and tens of thousands of orders keep going unfilled.. Just like I thought, FORD wants these trucks to be priced at $35K to $45K+.. I'm a lucky one and my truck took 480 days. When someone tells me FORD is concerned about customer satisfaction I think they must be joking. Just wait till the 2025 price release comes out and see if my prediction comes true that Ford Maverick will be a $50K vehicle equiped....

      If the EPA gets it's way all vehicles will become ultra expensive. Ford and other auto makers will comply with the EPA's edicts and tack on the costs the EPA created for them. The EPA wants you to ride a bus, bicycle or car pool.

    Personally, I only have interest in the Hybrid version. My thoughts on this:
    - I hate I did not get in early when I started following the Maverick.
    - Consumers are paying the price for Ford's inability to manage production and meet demand. Yes, there are supplier constraints, but other automakers are churning out vehicles where demand warrants it.
    - The hybrid version is still a great vehicle at this price. But as far as working toward electrification, making the hybrid optional is a a step backward.
    - The main reasons I'm hesitating placing an order for and 2024 XLT hybrid, that's a Huge price increase with no updates to an extremely dated infotainment system nor any interior materials update.
    My final thoughts (from my perspective). I have owned hybrids in the past, and want to go back to one as a stepping stone to a full EV for my next vehicle after it. After this price increase, I could skip straight to EV and muddle through the learning curve and charging infrastructure challenges. I can get a Very well equipped Bolt instead of XLT and won't have an infotainment system screen from 2018. Or in comparison to a Lariat, I could get a Volvo EX30 or Very loaded Kia Sportage Hybrid. Before you attack, YES, I know these are all different vehicle types, but like MANY Maverick buyers, I'm not buying it for the haulin' stuff "truck", I'm buying it for the vehicle design and efficiency... and these are all good options for me personally.
    I truly love the design of this little truck, but Ford has made it a less appealing.....it will still sell like hotcakes through. Your move Dodge and Toyota.

    Do yourselves a favor - keep your old vehicles and do not buy into the hype. Manufacturers and dealers are purposely holding back inventory to jack up prices. Leave them holding the bag - when nobody buys their overpriced junk, the price will suddenly drop like a rock!

    • @marklihsu
      @marklihsu ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The only mfg I know of holding back inventory is Toyota. Last year they made the most amount of vehicles in their entire company history but yet inventory in the US is next to none. Ford on the other hand has been giving order holders rebates and discounts to try and make it right. Why would they do that if they are purposely holding back inventory? Would be better to deliver the trucks if they could instead of making the customer wait only to give them a discount. What you're saying doesn't make sense when talking about the Maverick situation.

  • @todd92m
    @todd92m ปีที่แล้ว

    Lots of incorrect information here. First, demand has cooled drastically, thanks to the rocketing interest rates. I just placed an order for a Lariat today, no problem, order banks are still open. The Maverick is still very popular, but buyers have dropped out the market for all vehicles. So the order banks did not close in days. In addition, Ford has upped production and the supply difficulties are gone. As for the price increases, not entirely true either. For my Lariat, with 4K tow as the only option, it's MSRP is $500 LESS than an identically equipped 2023. I was surprised, but I've rechecked this and it's correct. Now for the rest of the story on the price increases, I just paid $350 under MSRP with only $100 Doc Fee and zero other BS add ons. 2023's and especially 2022's were going for over MSRP, sometimes much over with 'market adjustments" in addition to the typical attempts at Protection Packages, Etching and high Doc Fees. I would argue the price people are actually paying are the same or even lower.

Even though that Tacoma will be 45k, the Tacoma has a great reputation for longevity, and the Ranger is not that good. The Ranger Raptor is fabulous, but it is a specialty truck. Tens of thousands of unscheduled builds for MY2023? That is absurd customer experience.
    I am curious if standard engine change from hybrid to ICE is even legal? I'm sure there must be some EPA reg someone could cite for a class action.
    Humbly waiting to see if Toyota comes out with an attractive hybrid package to compete.

      You will die before Toyota releases a cheap truck in the USA. They are not going to build a factory for tiny trucks in the USA. The Tacoma is the bottom truck for USA, and will remain so for the foreseeable future. Toyota is trying to recover from a disastrous 2022, where they got hammered along with Honda in the USA, dropping double digits in sales, and will take a few years to recover. They are going upscale in the market, and expanding hybrids across their line, which is a more expensive and complex product to produce.

    • @yolo_burrito
      @yolo_burrito ปีที่แล้ว

      @@edwarddejong8025 the Maverick is a hybrid, well hybrid available. I would pay up for a Toyota version and I could see them making a FWD bias small hybrid pickup. Tacoma slots with Ranger there’s no reason a RAV4 sized pickup wouldn’t be in the cards. Also JIT/TQM puts multiple vehicle models on the line back to back.

    • @edwarddejong8025
      @edwarddejong8025 ปีที่แล้ว

      The 2024 Hybrid Tacoma has been announced, no pricing set yet but the electric motor is there not for regular propulsion but to give it extra towing capacity and torque. I expect it to be around $36k for the cheapest hybrid Tacoma.
      They aren't trying to compete at the low end; the Tacoma outsells Ranger 3:1 and is clobbering every other midsize truck, you don't lower your profit margins on purpose when you are winning the game.@@yolo_burrito

    Dude! That? That's not a real Maverick. I know what a Maverick is, and that ain't it. Maverick was yeah WAS the most utilitarian car Ford ever made, the answer to the Chevy Pinto. didn't even come with a radio, but you could order one and have it put in (am only). Maverick was the cheapest Ford car ever made. Sold for about 7,000, right off the showroom floor. I drove one. I know. I don't know what that crap is, but it ain't a real Maverick.

    I'm reading a LOT of sour grapes about the Maverick's price increases and the inability to buy an EXTREMELY HIGH DEMAND ECONOMY Maverick. A well documented article from the "The Hill" dated April 5, 2023 Included the following in the opening paragraph. " The average price for a new vehicle hit $49,500 at the end of last year, compared to $38,948 just three years earlier. Skyrocketing interest rates pushed the average monthly car payment on a five-year loan to $723 in March. New vehicles priced under $25,000, a range that the average American might deem affordable, now account for less than 5 PERCENT of all sales. " The proof that this quote is true is the EXTREMELY HIGH DEMAND FOR THE MAVERICK which started out at less than $25K...which Ford anticipated would be relatively low demand based on what consumers were buying...yep, higher priced cars/trucks full of pricey options. I've also heard many stories of folks ordering Maverick's just to "flip 'em" for a quick $10,000 profit. Also $7500 dealer markups and more are common on new Mavericks. It's not just the "Maverick" it's all new car/truck prices. I don't like the overall inflation economy we now live in (from the high price of eggs to gas and more) but that's our current reality. Don't blame Ford, they introduced a new vehicle and demand exceeded all expectations.....for an anticipated 5% of the market share economy vehicle. BTW, I got lucky...I originally ordered the high demand HYBRID Maverick in September 2022, but switched that order to the "unconstrained" Tremor (meaning Ford had more build capacity than demand) in early January 2023 and received the Tremor at the end of March 2023....for $34K out the door...a steal in today's and the last 2 years ultra high inflation economy. FYI, YOUR EPA is scheming to make future ICE vehicles ultra expensive by imposing extreme and costly emission requirements on them to force you into buying an equally expensive EV....or maybe even forcing you into taking public transportation (bus/subway/etc) in their effort to stop "climate change" (fixing? climate change has a price tag). Here's the link to the article on skyrocketing car/truck prices .......the capitalized "DOT" in the link needs to be replaced with the " . " punctuation mark to make the link work. thehillDOTcom/business/3934301-new-cars-have-become-luxury-items/
