    I love that you make a "to do" list of garden chores. I thought I was the only one. My family thinks I'm nuts for making one every week. If I don't make a list it's too easy for me to get distracted by all those squirrels.

    I like to mix sand into the bucket when hand broadcasting small seeds like mustard.
    I use more sand if I want the seeds to be sewn thinner ... and less sand if I want to so the seeds thicker.
    Using the sand seems to help me get a more even distribution.

    I wish I would have known you recommend the Kodiak brown over the Florida Broadleaf you recommended in another more recent video (2 minutes). I already ordered and planted several beds of the FBL. We are inundated with root knot nematodes in our beds and trees. Spend thoughsands on soil, veg, trees. Working hard over here...

    Will you guys be able to do a very informative video, how new gardeners can build of prepared the soil? It would be amazing 😉 to have some kind of guidance since you guys have a lot of knowledge. I have try with the onion seeds and other stuff but since a have quite a lot of land that I want to get planted next season it’s a challenge without the knowledge. You guys are awesome.

    Hi
    I have been watching for a while. In all of the videos, I've seen that you mention saving seeds. This because they are hard to find you mention verities of the same family, squash comes to mind. It would be nice when you talk about them if you could explain how far apart they have to be to not cross-pollinate. Usually, you say you are planting all in the same family in one plot. It would be nice to know which families it is a problem for? I have about 100' x 100' back yard. I also have a side yard in the front divided by a 6' block wall about 20'x15'. Thank you, Hank

    With you chickpeas, I watch another YT'er and she said at a certain stage you have to be careful with chickpeas, as they can give you a rash, (I think that is at the pea stage?) (What Vivi did next, is the channel I watched) from the UK. It would have been last summers crop 2019.

    • @gardeningwithhoss

    What is better mushroom compost or garden compost. I have been using mushroom compost and I grow lots of tomatoes and peppers but my cauliflower and other brassicas grow lots of green but no flower. My zucchini gets flowers but mostly male flowers I maybe had 5zuccini this year and lst year. Lots of big green leaves. I am beginning to think I need to change my compost.

    • @chickenjohnny3308
      @chickenjohnny3308 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You may need to add sulfur. High levels of Nitrogen will cause lots of green and little fruit. It is hard to believe brassicas have too much nitrogen as they are heavy feeders. Potassium and Phosphorus can get tied up in the soil the sulfur will release the P and the K. If your garden compost is mostly grass (green) you need to add sticks and bark (brown).

    • @gardeningwithhoss

We have sprayed several times with different things and they seem to be getting even worse! Am I the only person having this problem right now? Im right by Savannah GA. Even my weeds and zinnia that have reseeded from spring/summer are absolutely covered in them! So far we have tried neem oil, castile soap, sevin and cyflurtrin (bioadvanced garden insects spray) all have been a total fail! So I need to order something that will work asap!
