Sara-Lee, I love the colors and everything else about this journal. My mother's name was Hazel, and she loved roses. One of her favorite sayings to remind us to be positive and banish bad thoughts was "Think about roses." It was a treat to see the flip through of this journal. That fabric on your desk is so pretty and I love the tassel you made from the raveled threads. You always have such clever ideas, like the three windows and the place to hang the tassel on the spine. Thank you for your excellent work and for sharing your ideas with the rest of us. Oh, and I think her last name is Traynor. It helps to compare the letters in question to other ones in the note in words you know for sure, like the way she made her "r" in over and lover.
A real stunner! I could make rose journals for years , there’s so much material available. And the fabrics you incorporated…don’t think I’ve ever seen a floral print velvet. Have noticed receipt papers in some of your journals from Baumgardner-Matula in a very small town in Texas near where I grew up, how surprising to see them in a NZ artist’s work!
Yes, I love roses 🥰🥰🥰 that's why I have one tattooed on my arm! I purchased some ephemera from sacred momentos, all the way from America, and now it's made it's way back there 😂😂😂 so funny. I just love having a big variety of ephemera, nz stuff is great, but lots of ephemera is better 😂💛
I really enjoyed all the tucks and pockets with just the right amount of color to make the journal cheerful and added beauty. You did an excellent job. Maybe color will pop up again in your future journals!
Yes! I am happy you experiment with colour more now, thank you so much for appreciating the love that I put into my journals, it very much is my mindfulness place, where I get to shrug off the trials of the day from teaching 🥰
Sara-Lee, you are such an incredible artist and this journal is gorgeous! I could sit for hours paging through all the beautiful papers. Thanks for sharing sweetie! ❤❤❤

@@sara-leearmstrong5009 I was going to say that Mrs Hazel Mary Traynor of Wellington received a Queen's Service Medal for community service in 1998 and 'The Hazel Traynor Charitable Trust" left a bequest to Forest & Bird in 2022, so that kind of tracks with loving gardens.
