You missed that in the original FFXII, if you opened up certain chests, the Zodiac Spear will NEVER appear in its chest, and even if you meet the requirements, it has a less than 1% spawn rate.
@@mesothelimoa341 that is correct. It was a 100 percent drop. Some of the other ultimate weapons did have that ridiculous drop rate. Like there was a 10 percent chance a chest would spawn, then 1 percent chance it would drop a weapon without a certain item that would Increase the odds to 5 percent.
That's just factually inaccurate. Assuming you don't open any of the restricted chests early in, the one in the Necrohol is 100% going to be there and (as long as no Diamond Armlet's are equipped) will always contain the Zodiac Spear.
Correction: In Mega Man X, you do not need to have full sub-tanks. You need to reach that platform above the boss door a minimum of 3 times. After that, reach that platform one more time- If you have full health when you reach the platform, the capsule will be there. You can take damage at any point except the last one on the path, and you don’t need to have full sub tanks. It can be helpful to have them so you can consume one right before the moment of truth. I actually have a video about this one so I spent a lot of time looking into how it works. Love you guys! Great work.
The zodiac spear wasn’t rare because of what you said. No one got it without a guide because you had to leave certain chests in the game unopened but there was no obvious signal as to what those chests were. I think they later changed it to just be dependent on equipment which is much easier to just chance upon.
Facts. The original FFXII required you to have NOT OPENED a dozen or so chests scattered throughout the game (some of which had arguably comparable equipment in them), with absolutely NO indication as to *which* chests they were. Basically, without a guide, you had to either be impossibly lucky, or you had to go through through the entire game without opening ANY chests, on the off chance that one you opened would be involved in the acquisition of the spear. If this wasn't awful enough, the chest also appeared in one of the most difficult areas of the game, had (I believe) a 25% appearance rate (meaning it would only spawn 25% of the times you entered the area), and OF that 25% spawn chance, only a 5 or 10% drop rate from there. Why the developers would choose to implement such an infuriating mechanic is beyond me, but there it is. Additionally, the Unlabored Flawlessness (although an extremely powerful weapon) actually isn't that difficult to attain-- for experienced NG players, gathering the orbs to upgrade it is easily accomplished if you use charged attacks to boost your orb rewards. This is most easily done in the first game with the Dragon Fang (especially once it's been upgraded with the jewel) or the Vigoorian Flail, as enemies tend to jump into the AOE of the attack.
@@jackc5841 I think you're mixing up the two ways of acquiring the spear. The first is through the Necrohol's 4x4 Urn room. That's the one with the chest thingie. Some chests in the game are linked such that when one is opened, all of them are opened. You only get the contents of the one you actually did open, but the rest are gone. These chests also do not respawn. The 4x4 urn room has 16 urns each linked to chests in the game. All of them contain Dark Matters (or Knot of Rust? Forgot...) One of them contains the spear, but only IF the player is wearing a Diamond Armlet to get better chest rewards. The urn (and the 15 others) is *always* there (100% chance) but if a linked chest was opened, it (or whichever other urn was linked to that chest) is gone *for good* . The REALLY frustrating thing is that one of the chests is in front of Old Dolan's place, RIGHT in the middle of the screen when you leave his house (which you must visit a few times in the story). There's no way a player would pass that one up. And even if they did, the fact that all other urns in the room contain the same item makes it hard to suspect anything's there if the player doesn't have a Diamond Armlet. The second is through a chest that spawns in that optional crystal dungeon place where every area looks the same and the mini-map doesn't work. The chest has a 10% spawn rate, 10% chance of even containing anything, and 10% chance of it being the spear. In other words, there's a 0.1% chance of it being there, making it likely most players will pass it up. It's like they wanted us to buy some kind of strategy guide for the game in order to enjoy it. -_-
The requirements for the zodiac spear changed. Back in the day you couldn't open specific chests scattered across.the map or it would be lost for good. Not opening treasure chests in final fantasy. Without a guide you had no way of knowing this lovely little detail.
At first, it was disappointing to unlock the Unmayker after I had already beaten the game, and already had the BFG which I found more useful. But since unlocking the various Cheats, namely Unlimited Ammo, it is a blast to go through the levels again and just obliterate everything in my path with the BFG and Unmayker. There's nothing left to unlock, but after a long day at work, it's just nice to feel like a War God.

and also as annoying, the Divinity quest but the challenging part usually on the teammate themself, there's always that one guy unable to figure out how the final puzzle work and cause the team to go through it over and over.

@@PunkDisciple23no. That was normal. The big unlockable was the golden hyper armor with all the power ups in one chip. There are some conditions that you have to fulfill in order to make the capsule appear in the first place. - You have to have found all the upgrades/items up to that point. Which means, you must have found and collected all four basic Dr. Light upgrades, all eight Heart Tanks, all four Sub-Tanks, and all four Ride Armors. - You must have NOT taken any of the enhancement chips from the pink Dr. Light capsules. In other words, you must have found and used all of the blue capsules, but none of the pink ones. - You must be at full health for the capsule to appear. Your Sub-Tanks don't have to be full, however, so you can fill your health by using one at the last second if you don't have full health. Once the requirements are met, head to Doppler Stage 1. After beating the midpoint boss, if you continue on you will eventually reach an area where giant spiked balls fall from the ceiling and roll along the floor. Once you get here, drop down the first pit and hug the left wall to go through an invisible opening into a secret room, which has the Gold Armor capsule.
@@Hajiroku You had to jump through hoops to get the Z-Saber too. You have to beat all 3 of the generals without using their weaknesses so they retreat rather than die, then switch to Zero for the one and only time he's able to boss fight in Doppler Stage 2. Extremely archaic.
@@ryanchase9332 I beat Bit, Byte, and Vile with their weaknesses, had the full armor, all hearts, and all sub tanks. I even got the golden armor just because. I would go to the miniboss, Zero would offer to take it on, and then I'd fight it with him. The boss takes Zero down to one life, and he gives you the Z-saber.
The guide for Final Fantasy XII makes it clear that if you want the Zodiac Spear there are a total of 4 chests/baskets that you must not open. I didn't get it on my first playthrough, because no guide. But I did get it on my second. I don't recall if I has diamond armlets equipped. They changed this for The Zodiac Age remaster. I'm impressed you made this list and mentioned 2 Final Fantasy games without mentioning X.

In the original PS2 version of FF XII obtaining the Zodiac spear was much more difficult. There are a couple of treasure containers that must not be opened for the container with the Zodiac spear being able to spawn at all. Because I messed up and opened one of the containers I had to use an Action Replay to get it.
@@darkdoc0268 yeah maybe, but I am not the type to go through a game with the guide. By the time I learned about it I had beaten the game up, down, sideways and radially so there was no reason to go get it.
Also, Unlabored Flawlessness isn't upgraded from the starter weapon. You have to get the Wooden Sword and then fully upgrade that. It has more levels than any other weapon in the game.

I DID unlock the Unmakyr, Scarab Gun, and Wooden Sword(true form). I’d like to add 3 more weapons to the list… The Ultima Weapon from the Kingdom Heart Franchise, specifically the first game. You must first reach a certain point in the story, (just before the final boss fight) then you have to craft every other item the Kupos have to offer. After doing so, the Ultima Weapon will appear as a crafting item in the shop. However your not done yet, since the materials required to craft it are extremely rare and can even have ridiculous requirements to even have a chance at spawning. For instance, one item will only spawn from hitting a White Mushroom enemy in the air 3 times before he lands. Even then, it’s not guaranteed to drop. However, all that effort will pay off since the Ultima Weapon lives up to its name. It really is the best Keyblade in Kingdom Hearts. The other 2 items are the Laser Sword and REAL Buster Gun (Mega Man’s Gun) from the original Dead Rising. I personally have never unlocked the Laser Sword since it requires you to beat Survival Mode. That lasting 72 hours in game (24 Hours real life) with everyone and everything in the mall trying to kill you. Also, items don’t respawn and your constantly taking damage from starvation. As for the REAL Buster Gun (Mega Man’s Gun), I have unlocked that and it’s definitely worth it. You have to kill a total of 53,594 Zombies (the Cities Population). Basically, you’re driving around the sewers the whole time, running over zombies. You’ll still have to time it carefully since you will have to take a break to do mandatory story missions. Once you finally hit that number though, you’ll get the Zombie Genocider Achievement and a REAL Buster Gun will spawn in the safe room every time you visit. It holds 300 rounds and kills everything (humans and zombies alike) in one shot. It also has a pretty good range on it and you can carry multiple ones at once.
Don't forget the Seitengrat in Final Fantasy 12 Zodiac Age. You got to find an invisible chest on an airship and even then, you gotta have the diamond armlet equipped to have the lowest chance to have it.
12 OG zodiac spear was convoluted as all hell you could lock yourself out of it in the first hour because it required you not to open specific chests one of which is right at the beginning.
Fell Arms - Tales Of Vesperia. They have to be obtained for each character which is crazy for each one, and they must all be got to be used, which they can’t until you start the SECOND version of the final boss fight.
That too but I still had Yuri do more damage with his fell arm then I had LLoyd do with his Devils arm weapon AFTER beating Abyssion the only difference between Symphonia and Vesperia is that once the 3rd form of the final boss dies you don't need to REKILL HIM on a NG+ run but for Abyssion you do. Tales of the Abyss is the same in that you need to rekill Nebilim to do so but that boss is still fought BEFORE you fight the final boss of that tales of game.
You forgot the part where you have to hijack the banshee just as you hit the loading point. 😒😓 Too early, and the invisible wall pushes you back so hard you die instantly. Too late and, well, all that hard work goes out the window because the banshee just disappears. I swear that's the worst part of the whole schtick. Your timing has to be absolutely impeccable.
I love Final Fantasy IX and it's one of my favorite games of all time, but I have never gotten Excalibur II legitimately lol. I do enjoy that they don't even have footage of it to use, lol.
@@brennefleisch It is technically possible to not miss anything missable and get Excalibur II. You can leave Memoria once you get it and go back and do all the rest of the stuff. Just a very very tight timeline, lots of save and reloads to get good few-random-battle rng, and tricks like opening the disc tray during a FMV to skip it.
Mjolnir in AC Valhalla is crazy enough, but Excalibur is on another level of complicated, im just glad somone figured it out for the community. Edit. I meant for that to be about the Isu Bow which requires hitting a specific stone at a specific time of day in the middle of nowhere with Excalibur and you unlock the god bow.
9:13 Something similar happens in Final Fantasy III. If you use the onion knight class for the whole game, and farm the yellow dragon for a few hours. It becomes the most busted class in the game.
The one of them I got(many times, actually) was X's Hadouken. Annoying to get, but also annoying to use. You can't use it unless you're at full health. Kills literally anything in the game with a single shot though.
Snapshot weapons from tactics ogre. You have to level a character up and then sacrifice them with an end game forbidden spell. They are the most ridiculously powerful weapons in the game but honestly by the time you can get them you don't need them especially since you can take the same raised character kill them and use another forbidden spell, retissue, and make them level 1 with the same stats they died with. Rinse and repeat till they're literal gods. Also the moonlight sword from Otogi, you have to free every soul in the first 28 or 30 chapters which is like getting all the stars in a mario game plus you have a timer that is your own life force slowly ticking away every level.
tbh the modern day zodiac spear in ffxii is annoying but on PS2 version was way harder cause you had to avoid opening 12 specific chests littered all over the world also all of the chests look the same.
Getting the Haduken in Mega Man X is nothing compared to getting the Shoryuken in Mega Man X2. the requires an insane double air dash over death spikes while also needing to be fully upgraded with full health like in the first X game.
I had the "starting weapon becomes epic later" issue with SMT: Nocturne. I had no clue that you could upgrade your starter Pixie with 80 in every stat and top tier magic...
Hadouken in Mega Man X is the only one I get and usually do every time because frankly its not that hard compared to some of the other ones on this list.
I got the scarab gun the first time using the banshee method. A few attempts at hitting the wings off without destroying it so it could fit. Easiest way I discovered was just hitting a certain box from the back of the building to the middle and then throwing a grenade under it and super jumping up. I miss halo 2 (the OG one)

You left out part of The Zodiac Spear; there are four chests that *can not* be opened, or the chest with the spear never spawns. One is right next to the issuer of the 2nd quest in the game, another is a guaranteed spawn in a linear hallway in the following story quest. 3rd, likewise, is right on the mission critical path. And yet, the Tournesol is *still* more frustrating to earn. FF12 was not kind to completionists.
In Deus Ex Human Revolution, I don't think you can get another of the starting pistol. You can upgrade that thing until its a one hit kill to almost every enemy except a few bosses it still smokes in a few hits.
Wooden Sword karma can be farmed in the latter half of the game prior to the arena 1 on 1. Farm the zombie soldiers on the screen prior to the bridge. Walk down the stairs, save, walk back up stairs hold for strongest attack and get to killin! Max should take you maybe 30 mins. If you do progress into the greater Alma fight you have less to farm on since the end isn't far away
Note: The Zodiac Spear is a bit easier to obtain in FFXII: The Zodiac Age. You have 4 options: 1) Enter a specific optional area of the Henne Mines, which the chest that contains it has a 1% chance of spawning, BUT it is guaranteed to be the spear. You can go back in forth between that room and another until it spawns. 2) Give 16 or more Rare Mark hunt trophies to Atak in the Hunt Club on the Phon Coast. 3) Purchase from the Hunt Club for an exhorbitant amount of money. 4) Steal it from a Biding Mantis in Level 62 of Trial Mode. I'm planning on trying the first method I mentioned.
Unless something changed, it's not as simple as just going back and forth between 2 rooms to get chests to spawn/respawn. Areas are known as "zones" and spawns/respawns for both chests and monsters work based on those zones. Moving 2 zones away respawns monsters, while chests take 3 zones.
Excalibastard from Borderlands Pre-sequel can be impossible to obtain on early playthroughs of the game because it's requirement is based on one's badass rank. I haven't played in so long so I can't remember if badass rank is different for every character or if it's profile-wide, but I do remember that how to obtain it was never actually stated in-game; only heavily alluded to with the statement "art thou badass enough?"
I agree that the unlabored flawlessness is very OP, losing only to the true dragon sword, plasma saber and the dark dragon blade (all very end game weapons). But it isn't that hard to get that. You can get every single weapon/weapon upgrade and keep upgrading the wooden sword as well (which WILL cost a lot) if you play accordingly (that is, using UT's, which nets you more essence than normal). If you just mash the button to kill an enemy in Ninja Gaiden, you will get a hard time in terms of "money", but if you plan what will you do, you can get a decent amount of essence everytime (for example, start a encounter, izuna drop one guy, maybe kill him, prepare an UT, get some essence killing one or two guys, prepare another UT, kill more people, you will get more money)
Some things about the Zodiac Spear. 1st; There are 4 "restricted" chests in the game that you can't open, otherwise the chest with the Spear never appears in the Necrohol. 2nd; That isn't the "only" Zodiac Spear that you can find. There is a random chest in the Henne Mines that can have the Spear as well, though here a Diamond Armlet is necessary. 3rd; in the "Zodiac" version of the game, there are multiple ways to acquire the Spear, though the one in the Necrohol is no longer present.
Unlabored Flawlessness is absolutely worth it. It has one of the best Ultimate Techniques in the game and it can even do more damage than the True Dragon Sword and the Dark Dragon Blade when you're at low health. The main issues are that it's a heavy weapon, so it's slow, it has the steepest upgrade cost of any weapon by far, and it's only at its best when you're at critical health so one mistake can spell death.
The twister from borderlands 2 was insane to get. And our works great on all the characters. First had to get a certain goliath to level up to maximum then final transformation was only a small chance to transform into the ultimate omni omni ohk. And say you manage to actually get that then it's only .02% chance to drop. AND THEN I'd you manage to get it to drop and with all things borderlands has to come with the good parts. Few odd the characters can make use of any version but the double barrel version just makes quick work of any enemy thats not made of electricity.
Loved Mega Man X and had a graph paper code sheet with all the level codes so you could start from anywhere in the game depending on how much time you had. The houdukin was a blast to use. Sadly never finished FFIX as my PS2 was stolen along with my memory card and by the time I snagged a slim FFXII was out and I'm pretty positive I got the spear but it has been soooo long.
In The Dirge of Cerberus: Final Fantasy VII, fully upgrading the Toy Gun into the Ultima Weapon. You can only do this on the hardest difficulty of very hard because it lets you keep your money and items from subsequent play throughs. It’s the second best gun after the Death Penalty which can only be used by Chaos in the last chapter
Anyone remember Dirge of Cerberus? Yeah, I don't blame you if you don't. BUT it did the same thing as Ninja Gaiden, only in a different way. See, as you progress, you earn Gil, the cash of Final Fantasy. You also find a Toy Gun, which does pitiful damage (we're talking 1hp, slow firing rate, pathetic range). You can upgrade this to a bronze, silver and gold Toy Gun, but none of these are any better statwise. But, if you drop all this cash on the Toy Gun, and then an additional 999,999G, you'll unlock "Ultima", the most powerful weapon in the game with an insane stat sheet. Problem is.... You can't actually earn that much Gil in one playthrough. And by trying to minimize the amount of playthroughs you do to grind that amount of dosh, you'll end up abandoning your more useful weapons, leaving you weak as hell in what is, naturally, a hard game. Silent Hill special weapons aren't much better, as a few of the games force you to find and collect them, and they all have requirements, and the Hyper Spray in 1 is dependant on your final score with only the best rank getting a powerful weapon and the worst score basically being as useful as farting on your enemies.... Japan really hates special weapons, it seems.
The requirements for being a jedi in Galaxies is, IMO, genuinely the best depiction of becoming a jedi in gaming history. It makes sense that it requires a crapton of work to become one andyou are a complete noob until you've mastered your powers. It sucks that it took that much work, but I like the general idea behind it.
Oh man I remember a long time ago when I had had a lightsaber, everywhere I went I was a target. It was fun because people would get incredibly frustrated when they couldn’t kill me even though it was like a 5v1
I’d like to add the Crown of Many Colours from Dauntless to this. You can get it from beating every heroic escalation in the game at least once and get the crowns associated with them. They’re hard enough with 6 of them to beat, but you need 5 heroic merits to get one crown and you can only get one merit per week cause the escalations cycle once a week; so it would take you at least 30 weeks just to get the crown. Absurd.
Technically the special bb gun can be made into one of the strongest guns in fallout new vegas. Without any perks its crits for 70 damage and with better critical and just lucky to be alive it does 157 damage. Add in the boosted crit chance from the luck stat and crit chance boosting clothes you can pretty much crit all the time. The anti material rifle does 110 base damage and 130.9 when boosted with perks. You effectively get a gun that hits 27 damage higher then a non crit shot anti material rifle. Id still say the AM rifle is better with explosive rounds but the fact the bb gun out damages a 50 cal rifle is kinda insane.
You mentioned the Zodiac Spear from FFXII but don't mention the fact that if you open even one of several specific unmarked chests, one of them being right at the start of the game, the spear will just never appear.
Honestly, Ninja Gaiden isn't why I keep my starter weapons. There have been several RPGs where if I kept it until late in the game, someone would reward me for my nostalgia, dedication, or some other excuse and give me an item or ability for keeping it. Or it unlocks a certain title in games like Tales of Symphonia. Never played the Ninja Gaiden game with Unlabored Flawlessness but I have had plenty of other reasons to keep starting gear on hand other than "this piece of gear itself will be unstoppable."
Additionally... in megaman x, the haduken can be acquired by using password... it's how I found out about it in the first place... I saw the password in an old tips and tricks magazine back in the day, and thought it was fake... but it was certainly real
A suggestion for a video could be "10 Video Game Characters with INSANE Requirements." One item on the list could be Minion in Twisted Metal: Black. To unlock Minion, the player must beat the game with all other characters/vehicles, including the four vehicles (i.e., Yellow Jacket, Axel, Warthog, and Manslaughter) that require conditions to find or unlock in regular or unlockable areas. The video that plays after the "last" vehicle's outcome (which informs the player about Minion being unlocked), the gameplay, and the enumerated messages that need deciphering (to figure out Minion's identity) during the load screens make the requirements worthwhile.
Ironically it was not Ninja Gaiden that made me paranoid about keeping the original weapon, it was Final Fantasy 9 because of the castle level where everything is reversed. So the strongest weapons are the weakest. Now I always hold on to starter weapons lol
I’ve actually unlocked the unlabored flawlessness. It was quite fun. I could never get that capsule to show up in Mega Man X. I did everything that was required.
For Mega Man X the first one you need all 4 Subtanks FULLY filled every Heart piece gotten but you also need to end the area where the Hadouken upgrade is gotten at FULL HP before going BACK to the spot that had the boss room in it but you had to do that 4 TIMES before the Hadouken is gotten during the 5TH time you go their.
I'm an obsessive grinder in most any game I play and I had the Unlabored Flawlessness unlocked in chapter 7 or 8(can't remember), the earliest you can get it in the origina,l and it made the rest of the game utterly lol
@@charlieprince8671 I actually had it unlocked earlier than that. I was using a walkthrough it told me about an area to farm. The annoying thing was one would catch you off guard and kill you, making you start over again. Edit: or maybe it was 7, lol it’s been years
I was expecting the Ultima Weapon from Kingdom Hearts Final Mix, the scavenger's hunt you need to do is huge and tedious, specially because in Final Mix there are way more items required from new special heartless
I got the Hadouken and I tried one time for the Excalibur 2, and while my disc 1 timing was good enough, it all fell apart badly on disc 2 and I never tried again…
For Wow, I loved being an enhance shaman and the Winfury wepon spell and Air totem plus The Unstoppable Force for pvp. It was so OP back st 60 before any expansions. Also SWQ, back before it sucked. I mastered 15 professions before the stupid combat upgrade ruined the game. My brothers both did it as well with one with 17 classes mastered and then my other brother unlocking Jedi after 21 classes. Man that game was fun back in 2003-05.
Got three of those on the list. 'Doom' was just completion mode for me just killing demons totally forgot then unlocked later on. The scarab gun was by accident, sniped down the polite of the banshee, started blasting my through the tunnels ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) came out the other side, flew around the area, look down and WTH is this? 'Dead Space 2' I already knew and started first play in hardcore. All worth it. But Ninja Gaiden broke me, lost my voice for a week.

For the original FFXII, to get the Zodiac Spear takes just slightly more than what is said. Yes, don't equip the accessory that alters container items and drop chance. The other part is not opening any of 4 specific containers in other areas, as opening just one of these 4 will cause the container that has the spear in it to not spawn EVER. So unless you went the entire game not opening containers or had a guide that pointed out which ones not to open, the chances of you getting this weapon are almost none.
This video doesn't really emphasize how rare the boss item drops are to craft thunderfury in original wow as well. Also for the fireball in MMX, once acquired, can only be used if you are at full health but literally 1 shots everything in game including all bosses.
I have a rather new addition to this list. Ark survival evolved weapon (skin) Mjolnir. Without cheats think about all the time, money, effort, and rather or not your doing this by yourself and can quickly see just see how insane the requirements are.
The Mega Man X Hadouken wasn't just hidden, it was also the most powerful weapon in the game since it could literally 1-shot anything you hit with it, even Sigma.
When I bought Ninja Gaiden the guy told me the wooden sword is the best weapon just makes it a pain. Far as the Hadokon I loved it. I played through MegaMan X so many times it's still one of my favorite games of all time so getting that Easter egg is basically an essential part of the game.
curse of darkness for ps2. getting the deaths scythe. it requires you to steal from literal death. to get an item. just to make an item that isnt really that good...
you missed the little detail in halo 2 if you dont jump on the banshee just as it loads the next area the banshee will disappear and youll have to do it all over
The Borderlands 2 character that randomly appears in Sancturary and gives you a weapon would deserve a spot on this list. He randomly appears anywhere and at any time in Sancturary and most people don't even see him except by pure chance because you only recognize him if you see his name pop up when your target cursor is over his character
what pisses me off about the Scarab Gun. isn't how hard it is to get a banshee to not die. it isn't how hard it is to navigate it through that tunnel. it's that someone completely randomly had a banshee follow them into the tunnel, highjacked it then flew it into the next section and just stumbled upon the most O.P gun in history. it also happens to be in 1 of the 3 worst missions for a gun like that to be in. i can think of a few missions i'd have like this in instead Dead Space 2, beat the game. beat the game on new hard difficulty. replay game for a 3rd time to enjoy your reward. grinding hell we have arrived. Star Wars Galaxies. so i have to become force sensitive, then fight and kill Sith, THEN i can unlock the PADAWAN trials to then learn how to make a lightsaber. so i have to become a jedi and kill lightsaber wielding Sith before i can make my own lightsaber? i can't just pick up theirs?
generally there are several more final fantasies you could add to this list... FF10 where you have to jump through additional hoops to make use of the ultimate weapons you can get for every character (after you finally get them, which is difficult on its own) and final fantasy 11 online makes world of warcraft look like an MMO for a kindergarten. generally.

You missed that in the original FFXII, if you opened up certain chests, the Zodiac Spear will NEVER appear in its chest, and even if you meet the requirements, it has a less than 1% spawn rate.
FFXII has a whole host of obnoxious/near-impossible items... it's wild stuff.

@@mesothelimoa341 that is correct. It was a 100 percent drop. Some of the other ultimate weapons did have that ridiculous drop rate. Like there was a 10 percent chance a chest would spawn, then 1 percent chance it would drop a weapon without a certain item that would Increase the odds to 5 percent.
That's just factually inaccurate. Assuming you don't open any of the restricted chests early in, the one in the Necrohol is 100% going to be there and (as long as no Diamond Armlet's are equipped) will always contain the Zodiac Spear.
Correction: In Mega Man X, you do not need to have full sub-tanks. You need to reach that platform above the boss door a minimum of 3 times. After that, reach that platform one more time- If you have full health when you reach the platform, the capsule will be there. You can take damage at any point except the last one on the path, and you don’t need to have full sub tanks. It can be helpful to have them so you can consume one right before the moment of truth.

The zodiac spear wasn’t rare because of what you said. No one got it without a guide because you had to leave certain chests in the game unopened but there was no obvious signal as to what those chests were. I think they later changed it to just be dependent on equipment which is much easier to just chance upon.

Facts. The original FFXII required you to have NOT OPENED a dozen or so chests scattered throughout the game (some of which had arguably comparable equipment in them), with absolutely NO indication as to *which* chests they were. Basically, without a guide, you had to either be impossibly lucky, or you had to go through through the entire game without opening ANY chests, on the off chance that one you opened would be involved in the acquisition of the spear. If this wasn't awful enough, the chest also appeared in one of the most difficult areas of the game, had (I believe) a 25% appearance rate (meaning it would only spawn 25% of the times you entered the area), and OF that 25% spawn chance, only a 5 or 10% drop rate from there. Why the developers would choose to implement such an infuriating mechanic is beyond me, but there it is.
Additionally, the Unlabored Flawlessness (although an extremely powerful weapon) actually isn't that difficult to attain-- for experienced NG players, gathering the orbs to upgrade it is easily accomplished if you use charged attacks to boost your orb rewards. This is most easily done in the first game with the Dragon Fang (especially once it's been upgraded with the jewel) or the Vigoorian Flail, as enemies tend to jump into the AOE of the attack.
@@jackc5841 I think you're mixing up the two ways of acquiring the spear.
The first is through the Necrohol's 4x4 Urn room. That's the one with the chest thingie. Some chests in the game are linked such that when one is opened, all of them are opened. You only get the contents of the one you actually did open, but the rest are gone. These chests also do not respawn. The 4x4 urn room has 16 urns each linked to chests in the game. All of them contain Dark Matters (or Knot of Rust? Forgot...) One of them contains the spear, but only IF the player is wearing a Diamond Armlet to get better chest rewards.
The urn (and the 15 others) is *always* there (100% chance) but if a linked chest was opened, it (or whichever other urn was linked to that chest) is gone *for good* . The REALLY frustrating thing is that one of the chests is in front of Old Dolan's place, RIGHT in the middle of the screen when you leave his house (which you must visit a few times in the story). There's no way a player would pass that one up. And even if they did, the fact that all other urns in the room contain the same item makes it hard to suspect anything's there if the player doesn't have a Diamond Armlet.
The second is through a chest that spawns in that optional crystal dungeon place where every area looks the same and the mini-map doesn't work. The chest has a 10% spawn rate, 10% chance of even containing anything, and 10% chance of it being the spear. In other words, there's a 0.1% chance of it being there, making it likely most players will pass it up.
It's like they wanted us to buy some kind of strategy guide for the game in order to enjoy it. -_-
The requirements for the zodiac spear changed. Back in the day you couldn't open specific chests scattered across.the map or it would be lost for good. Not opening treasure chests in final fantasy. Without a guide you had no way of knowing this lovely little detail.

Unlabored Flawlessness was most definitely worth it.
At first, it was disappointing to unlock the Unmayker after I had already beaten the game, and already had the BFG which I found more useful. But since unlocking the various Cheats, namely Unlimited Ammo, it is a blast to go through the levels again and just obliterate everything in my path with the BFG and Unmayker. There's nothing left to unlock, but after a long day at work, it's just nice to feel like a War God.

and also as annoying, the Divinity quest but the challenging part usually on the teammate themself, there's always that one guy unable to figure out how the final puzzle work and cause the team to go through it over and over.
D1 Outbreak Prime was so much worse. Unless you cheated and looked up the answers, you'd have to be crazy good at mathematics to even have a chance.

There are some conditions that you have to fulfill in order to make the capsule appear in the first place.
- You have to have found all the upgrades/items up to that point. Which means, you must have found and collected all four basic Dr. Light upgrades, all eight Heart Tanks, all four Sub-Tanks, and all four Ride Armors.
- You must have NOT taken any of the enhancement chips from the pink Dr. Light capsules. In other words, you must have found and used all of the blue capsules, but none of the pink ones.
- You must be at full health for the capsule to appear. Your Sub-Tanks don't have to be full, however, so you can fill your health by using one at the last second if you don't have full health.
Once the requirements are met, head to Doppler Stage 1. After beating the midpoint boss, if you continue on you will eventually reach an area where giant spiked balls fall from the ceiling and roll along the floor. Once you get here, drop down the first pit and hug the left wall to go through an invisible opening into a secret room, which has the Gold Armor capsule.
@@Hajiroku You had to jump through hoops to get the Z-Saber too. You have to beat all 3 of the generals without using their weaknesses so they retreat rather than die, then switch to Zero for the one and only time he's able to boss fight in Doppler Stage 2. Extremely archaic.
@@ryanchase9332 I beat Bit, Byte, and Vile with their weaknesses, had the full armor, all hearts, and all sub tanks. I even got the golden armor just because. I would go to the miniboss, Zero would offer to take it on, and then I'd fight it with him. The boss takes Zero down to one life, and he gives you the Z-saber.
The guide for Final Fantasy XII makes it clear that if you want the Zodiac Spear there are a total of 4 chests/baskets that you must not open. I didn't get it on my first playthrough, because no guide. But I did get it on my second. I don't recall if I has diamond armlets equipped.
They changed this for The Zodiac Age remaster.

There is supposed to be 2 zodiac spears 1. Don't open certain chests (early game) 2. Don't equip certain items (late game)

In the original PS2 version of FF XII obtaining the Zodiac spear was much more difficult. There are a couple of treasure containers that must not be opened for the container with the Zodiac spear being able to spawn at all. Because I messed up and opened one of the containers I had to use an Action Replay to get it.
That was such a chore to figure out.

Also, Unlabored Flawlessness isn't upgraded from the starter weapon. You have to get the Wooden Sword and then fully upgrade that. It has more levels than any other weapon in the game.

I DID unlock the Unmakyr, Scarab Gun, and Wooden Sword(true form). I’d like to add 3 more weapons to the list…
The Ultima Weapon from the Kingdom Heart Franchise, specifically the first game. You must first reach a certain point in the story, (just before the final boss fight) then you have to craft every other item the Kupos have to offer. After doing so, the Ultima Weapon will appear as a crafting item in the shop. However your not done yet, since the materials required to craft it are extremely rare and can even have ridiculous requirements to even have a chance at spawning. For instance, one item will only spawn from hitting a White Mushroom enemy in the air 3 times before he lands. Even then, it’s not guaranteed to drop. However, all that effort will pay off since the Ultima Weapon lives up to its name. It really is the best Keyblade in Kingdom Hearts.
The other 2 items are the Laser Sword and REAL Buster Gun (Mega Man’s Gun) from the original Dead Rising. I personally have never unlocked the Laser Sword since it requires you to beat Survival Mode. That lasting 72 hours in game (24 Hours real life) with everyone and everything in the mall trying to kill you. Also, items don’t respawn and your constantly taking damage from starvation.
As for the REAL Buster Gun (Mega Man’s Gun), I have unlocked that and it’s definitely worth it. You have to kill a total of 53,594 Zombies (the Cities Population). Basically, you’re driving around the sewers the whole time, running over zombies. You’ll still have to time it carefully since you will have to take a break to do mandatory story missions. Once you finally hit that number though, you’ll get the Zombie Genocider Achievement and a REAL Buster Gun will spawn in the safe room every time you visit. It holds 300 rounds and kills everything (humans and zombies alike) in one shot. It also has a pretty good range on it and you can carry multiple ones at once.
In RE4, to unlock the hand cannon, you had to 5 star every map with every character in Mercenaries mode
Don't forget the Seitengrat in Final Fantasy 12 Zodiac Age. You got to find an invisible chest on an airship and even then, you gotta have the diamond armlet equipped to have the lowest chance to have it.
I only ever got it with RNG manipulation haha.
I did have 2 zodiac spears in the original PS2 version though, took forever to get the 2nd one to drop.
12 OG zodiac spear was convoluted as all hell you could lock yourself out of it in the first hour because it required you not to open specific chests one of which is right at the beginning.
Fell Arms - Tales Of Vesperia. They have to be obtained for each character which is crazy for each one, and they must all be got to be used, which they can’t until you start the SECOND version of the final boss fight.
And then you have to make tons of kills to power them up to be worth it
That too but I still had Yuri do more damage with his fell arm then I had LLoyd do with his Devils arm weapon AFTER beating Abyssion the only difference between Symphonia and Vesperia is that once the 3rd form of the final boss dies you don't need to REKILL HIM on a NG+ run but for Abyssion you do.
Tales of the Abyss is the same in that you need to rekill Nebilim to do so but that boss is still fought BEFORE you fight the final boss of that tales of game.
You forgot the part where you have to hijack the banshee just as you hit the loading point. 😒😓 Too early, and the invisible wall pushes you back so hard you die instantly. Too late and, well, all that hard work goes out the window because the banshee just disappears. I swear that's the worst part of the whole schtick. Your timing has to be absolutely impeccable.
I love Final Fantasy IX and it's one of my favorite games of all time, but I have never gotten Excalibur II legitimately lol. I do enjoy that they don't even have footage of it to use, lol.
It's such a minor upgrade I never saw any reason to push for it. I'm not missing out on all of the fun side quests for a marginally better sword.
@@brennefleisch It is technically possible to not miss anything missable and get Excalibur II. You can leave Memoria once you get it and go back and do all the rest of the stuff. Just a very very tight timeline, lots of save and reloads to get good few-random-battle rng, and tricks like opening the disc tray during a FMV to skip it.
For the Halo 2 Scarab Gun, you forgot to add that you need to board the banshee at a specific time while exiting the final tunnel or you would fail.

Mjolnir in AC Valhalla is crazy enough, but Excalibur is on another level of complicated, im just glad somone figured it out for the community.
Edit. I meant for that to be about the Isu Bow which requires hitting a specific stone at a specific time of day in the middle of nowhere with Excalibur and you unlock the god bow.
9:13 Something similar happens in Final Fantasy III. If you use the onion knight class for the whole game, and farm the yellow dragon for a few hours. It becomes the most busted class in the game.
The one of them I got(many times, actually) was X's Hadouken. Annoying to get, but also annoying to use. You can't use it unless you're at full health. Kills literally anything in the game with a single shot though.
Snapshot weapons from tactics ogre. You have to level a character up and then sacrifice them with an end game forbidden spell. They are the most ridiculously powerful weapons in the game but honestly by the time you can get them you don't need them especially since you can take the same raised character kill them and use another forbidden spell, retissue, and make them level 1 with the same stats they died with. Rinse and repeat till they're literal gods.
Also the moonlight sword from Otogi, you have to free every soul in the first 28 or 30 chapters which is like getting all the stars in a mario game plus you have a timer that is your own life force slowly ticking away every level.

tbh the modern day zodiac spear in ffxii is annoying but on PS2 version was way harder cause you had to avoid opening 12 specific chests littered all over the world also all of the chests look the same.
Getting the Haduken in Mega Man X is nothing compared to getting the Shoryuken in Mega Man X2. the requires an insane double air dash over death spikes while also needing to be fully upgraded with full health like in the first X game.
I could not BELIEVE when I pulled that off after countless failed attempts. Sigma whiffed a big normal and got blown up with the DP.
Oh, the Hadouken was TOTALLY worth it, just to take out Sigma in one hit.

I got the scarab gun the first time using the banshee method. A few attempts at hitting the wings off without destroying it so it could fit.
Easiest way I discovered was just hitting a certain box from the back of the building to the middle and then throwing a grenade under it and super jumping up.

You left out part of The Zodiac Spear; there are four chests that *can not* be opened, or the chest with the spear never spawns.
One is right next to the issuer of the 2nd quest in the game, another is a guaranteed spawn in a linear hallway in the following story quest. 3rd, likewise, is right on the mission critical path.
And yet, the Tournesol is *still* more frustrating to earn. FF12 was not kind to completionists.
In Deus Ex Human Revolution, I don't think you can get another of the starting pistol. You can upgrade that thing until its a one hit kill to almost every enemy except a few bosses it still smokes in a few hits.
Wooden Sword karma can be farmed in the latter half of the game prior to the arena 1 on 1. Farm the zombie soldiers on the screen prior to the bridge. Walk down the stairs, save, walk back up stairs hold for strongest attack and get to killin! Max should take you maybe 30 mins. If you do progress into the greater Alma fight you have less to farm on since the end isn't far away
Note: The Zodiac Spear is a bit easier to obtain in FFXII: The Zodiac Age. You have 4 options:
1) Enter a specific optional area of the Henne Mines, which the chest that contains it has a 1% chance of spawning, BUT it is guaranteed to be the spear. You can go back in forth between that room and another until it spawns.
2) Give 16 or more Rare Mark hunt trophies to Atak in the Hunt Club on the Phon Coast.
3) Purchase from the Hunt Club for an exhorbitant amount of money.
4) Steal it from a Biding Mantis in Level 62 of Trial Mode.
I'm planning on trying the first method I mentioned.
Unless something changed, it's not as simple as just going back and forth between 2 rooms to get chests to spawn/respawn. Areas are known as "zones" and spawns/respawns for both chests and monsters work based on those zones. Moving 2 zones away respawns monsters, while chests take 3 zones.
Excalibastard from Borderlands Pre-sequel can be impossible to obtain on early playthroughs of the game because it's requirement is based on one's badass rank.
I haven't played in so long so I can't remember if badass rank is different for every character or if it's profile-wide, but I do remember that how to obtain it was never actually stated in-game; only heavily alluded to with the statement "art thou badass enough?"
I agree that the unlabored flawlessness is very OP, losing only to the true dragon sword, plasma saber and the dark dragon blade (all very end game weapons). But it isn't that hard to get that. You can get every single weapon/weapon upgrade and keep upgrading the wooden sword as well (which WILL cost a lot) if you play accordingly (that is, using UT's, which nets you more essence than normal). If you just mash the button to kill an enemy in Ninja Gaiden, you will get a hard time in terms of "money", but if you plan what will you do, you can get a decent amount of essence everytime (for example, start a encounter, izuna drop one guy, maybe kill him, prepare an UT, get some essence killing one or two guys, prepare another UT, kill more people, you will get more money)
Some things about the Zodiac Spear. 1st; There are 4 "restricted" chests in the game that you can't open, otherwise the chest with the Spear never appears in the Necrohol. 2nd; That isn't the "only" Zodiac Spear that you can find. There is a random chest in the Henne Mines that can have the Spear as well, though here a Diamond Armlet is necessary. 3rd; in the "Zodiac" version of the game, there are multiple ways to acquire the Spear, though the one in the Necrohol is no longer present.

Unlabored Flawlessness is absolutely worth it. It has one of the best Ultimate Techniques in the game and it can even do more damage than the True Dragon Sword and the Dark Dragon Blade when you're at low health. The main issues are that it's a heavy weapon, so it's slow, it has the steepest upgrade cost of any weapon by far, and it's only at its best when you're at critical health so one mistake can spell death.
If I remember correctly, the Wooden Sword is not Ninja Gaiden's initial weapon, rather it's the first weapon one may buy
The twister from borderlands 2 was insane to get. And our works great on all the characters. First had to get a certain goliath to level up to maximum then final transformation was only a small chance to transform into the ultimate omni omni ohk. And say you manage to actually get that then it's only .02% chance to drop. AND THEN I'd you manage to get it to drop and with all things borderlands has to come with the good parts. Few odd the characters can make use of any version but the double barrel version just makes quick work of any enemy thats not made of electricity.
Loved Mega Man X and had a graph paper code sheet with all the level codes so you could start from anywhere in the game depending on how much time you had. The houdukin was a blast to use. Sadly never finished FFIX as my PS2 was stolen along with my memory card and by the time I snagged a slim FFXII was out and I'm pretty positive I got the spear but it has been soooo long.
In The Dirge of Cerberus: Final Fantasy VII, fully upgrading the Toy Gun into the Ultima Weapon. You can only do this on the hardest difficulty of very hard because it lets you keep your money and items from subsequent play throughs. It’s the second best gun after the Death Penalty which can only be used by Chaos in the last chapter
Anyone remember Dirge of Cerberus? Yeah, I don't blame you if you don't. BUT it did the same thing as Ninja Gaiden, only in a different way. See, as you progress, you earn Gil, the cash of Final Fantasy. You also find a Toy Gun, which does pitiful damage (we're talking 1hp, slow firing rate, pathetic range). You can upgrade this to a bronze, silver and gold Toy Gun, but none of these are any better statwise. But, if you drop all this cash on the Toy Gun, and then an additional 999,999G, you'll unlock "Ultima", the most powerful weapon in the game with an insane stat sheet.
Problem is.... You can't actually earn that much Gil in one playthrough. And by trying to minimize the amount of playthroughs you do to grind that amount of dosh, you'll end up abandoning your more useful weapons, leaving you weak as hell in what is, naturally, a hard game.
Silent Hill special weapons aren't much better, as a few of the games force you to find and collect them, and they all have requirements, and the Hyper Spray in 1 is dependant on your final score with only the best rank getting a powerful weapon and the worst score basically being as useful as farting on your enemies.... Japan really hates special weapons, it seems.
The requirements for being a jedi in Galaxies is, IMO, genuinely the best depiction of becoming a jedi in gaming history. It makes sense that it requires a crapton of work to become one andyou are a complete noob until you've mastered your powers. It sucks that it took that much work, but I like the general idea behind it.
Oh man I remember a long time ago when I had had a lightsaber, everywhere I went I was a target. It was fun because people would get incredibly frustrated when they couldn’t kill me even though it was like a 5v1

I’d like to add the Crown of Many Colours from Dauntless to this. You can get it from beating every heroic escalation in the game at least once and get the crowns associated with them. They’re hard enough with 6 of them to beat, but you need 5 heroic merits to get one crown and you can only get one merit per week cause the escalations cycle once a week; so it would take you at least 30 weeks just to get the crown. Absurd.
I say the Gun Blade from Parasite Eve 2 was one not many people knew about.

Technically the special bb gun can be made into one of the strongest guns in fallout new vegas. Without any perks its crits for 70 damage and with better critical and just lucky to be alive it does 157 damage. Add in the boosted crit chance from the luck stat and crit chance boosting clothes you can pretty much crit all the time. The anti material rifle does 110 base damage and 130.9 when boosted with perks. You effectively get a gun that hits 27 damage higher then a non crit shot anti material rifle. Id still say the AM rifle is better with explosive rounds but the fact the bb gun out damages a 50 cal rifle is kinda insane.
You mentioned the Zodiac Spear from FFXII but don't mention the fact that if you open even one of several specific unmarked chests, one of them being right at the start of the game, the spear will just never appear.

Honestly, Ninja Gaiden isn't why I keep my starter weapons. There have been several RPGs where if I kept it until late in the game, someone would reward me for my nostalgia, dedication, or some other excuse and give me an item or ability for keeping it. Or it unlocks a certain title in games like Tales of Symphonia. Never played the Ninja Gaiden game with Unlabored Flawlessness but I have had plenty of other reasons to keep starting gear on hand other than "this piece of gear itself will be unstoppable."

Additionally... in megaman x, the haduken can be acquired by using password... it's how I found out about it in the first place... I saw the password in an old tips and tricks magazine back in the day, and thought it was fake... but it was certainly real
A suggestion for a video could be "10 Video Game Characters with INSANE Requirements." One item on the list could be Minion in Twisted Metal: Black. To unlock Minion, the player must beat the game with all other characters/vehicles, including the four vehicles (i.e., Yellow Jacket, Axel, Warthog, and Manslaughter) that require conditions to find or unlock in regular or unlockable areas. The video that plays after the "last" vehicle's outcome (which informs the player about Minion being unlocked), the gameplay, and the enumerated messages that need deciphering (to figure out Minion's identity) during the load screens make the requirements worthwhile.
Ironically it was not Ninja Gaiden that made me paranoid about keeping the original weapon, it was Final Fantasy 9 because of the castle level where everything is reversed. So the strongest weapons are the weakest. Now I always hold on to starter weapons lol

I could never get that capsule to show up in Mega Man X. I did everything that was required.
For Mega Man X the first one you need all 4 Subtanks FULLY filled every Heart piece gotten but you also need to end the area where the Hadouken upgrade is gotten at FULL HP before going BACK to the spot that had the boss room in it but you had to do that 4 TIMES before the Hadouken is gotten during the 5TH time you go their.
I'm an obsessive grinder in most any game I play and I had the Unlabored Flawlessness unlocked in chapter 7 or 8(can't remember), the earliest you can get it in the origina,l and it made the rest of the game utterly lol
@@charlieprince8671 I actually had it unlocked earlier than that. I was using a walkthrough it told me about an area to farm. The annoying thing was one would catch you off guard and kill you, making you start over again.

I was expecting the Ultima Weapon from Kingdom Hearts Final Mix, the scavenger's hunt you need to do is huge and tedious, specially because in Final Mix there are way more items required from new special heartless
I got the Hadouken and I tried one time for the Excalibur 2, and while my disc 1 timing was good enough, it all fell apart badly on disc 2 and I never tried again…

For Wow, I loved being an enhance shaman and the Winfury wepon spell and Air totem plus The Unstoppable Force for pvp. It was so OP back st 60 before any expansions.
Also SWQ, back before it sucked. I mastered 15 professions before the stupid combat upgrade ruined the game. My brothers both did it as well with one with 17 classes mastered and then my other brother unlocking Jedi after 21 classes. Man that game was fun back in 2003-05.
For everyone else, seeing the weapon spammed in city chat over and over again was decidedly less fun.

Got three of those on the list. 'Doom' was just completion mode for me just killing demons totally forgot then unlocked later on. The scarab gun was by accident, sniped down the polite of the banshee, started blasting my through the tunnels ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) came out the other side, flew around the area, look down and WTH is this? 'Dead Space 2' I already knew and started first play in hardcore. All worth it. But Ninja Gaiden broke me, lost my voice for a week.

For the original FFXII, to get the Zodiac Spear takes just slightly more than what is said. Yes, don't equip the accessory that alters container items and drop chance. The other part is not opening any of 4 specific containers in other areas, as opening just one of these 4 will cause the container that has the spear in it to not spawn EVER. So unless you went the entire game not opening containers or had a guide that pointed out which ones not to open, the chances of you getting this weapon are almost none.
Suggestion for a video: 10 super powerful weapons that were useless by the time you got them.
This video doesn't really emphasize how rare the boss item drops are to craft thunderfury in original wow as well. Also for the fireball in MMX, once acquired, can only be used if you are at full health but literally 1 shots everything in game including all bosses.
The scarab gun was pretty ridiculous so I can almost see why it was such a senseless test to even attempt to reach it

I have a rather new addition to this list. Ark survival evolved weapon (skin) Mjolnir. Without cheats think about all the time, money, effort, and rather or not your doing this by yourself and can quickly see just see how insane the requirements are.

Getting Unlabored Flawlessness is probably why I remember Ninja Gaiden being even harder than it is lol.
I was pretty sweet once you had it though.
The Mega Man X Hadouken wasn't just hidden, it was also the most powerful weapon in the game since it could literally 1-shot anything you hit with it, even Sigma.
Now that the Acrophobia skull has been added to Halo 2, it's super easy to get the Scarab Gun.
What about Path of Exiles Mjölner? It's stat requirements are insanly high and can be only reached with the help of other powerfull items.
Try getting the Hadoken in Maverick Hunter X. It's a lot harder. You have to go through the whole stage without taking a single hit.
I got the hadoken in Mega Man and Unlabored Flawlessness in Ninja Gaiden. Hadoken was absolutely worth it. Not so much Unlaboured Flawlessnes.
When I bought Ninja Gaiden the guy told me the wooden sword is the best weapon just makes it a pain.
Far as the Hadokon I loved it. I played through MegaMan X so many times it's still one of my favorite games of all time so getting that Easter egg is basically an essential part of the game.

The Borderlands 2 character that randomly appears in Sancturary and gives you a weapon would deserve a spot on this list. He randomly appears anywhere and at any time in Sancturary and most people don't even see him except by pure chance because you only recognize him if you see his name pop up when your target cursor is over his character

what pisses me off about the Scarab Gun. isn't how hard it is to get a banshee to not die. it isn't how hard it is to navigate it through that tunnel. it's that someone completely randomly had a banshee follow them into the tunnel, highjacked it then flew it into the next section and just stumbled upon the most O.P gun in history. it also happens to be in 1 of the 3 worst missions for a gun like that to be in. i can think of a few missions i'd have like this in instead

Star Wars Galaxies. so i have to become force sensitive, then fight and kill Sith, THEN i can unlock the PADAWAN trials to then learn how to make a lightsaber. so i have to become a jedi and kill lightsaber wielding Sith before i can make my own lightsaber? i can't just pick up theirs?

The boat paddle of death is worth the investment on higher difficulties like very hard and master ninja. You get far more orbs on those difficulties.
The starter weapon also upgrades into the best weapon in the game in Infinite Undiscovery.
generally there are several more final fantasies you could add to this list... FF10 where you have to jump through additional hoops to make use of the ultimate weapons you can get for every character (after you finally get them, which is difficult on its own) and final fantasy 11 online makes world of warcraft look like an MMO for a kindergarten. generally.
