Have u played fashion dreamer on switch? It feels like it took the style savvy series and brought it to the switch. Marvelous did a grt job on fashion dreamer
@@packers12to80Don’t know if you already know now but Fashion Dreamer is actually made by the same company who made Style Savvy/Style boutique, Syn Sophia! Marvelous only published the game and helped with localization as far as I know =]
@packers12to80 IIRC Fashion Dreamer is made by the same studio as Style Savvy, only this time it hasn't been published by Nintendo (but by Marvellous as you've stated) 😊
I love Elebits, the DS game is actually a sequel to a Wii game just titled "Elebits", in the Wii game you go around trying to find Elebits so you can restore power after your player wished they'd all go away.
Glad to see you checked out Lucky Star Moe Drill! While it was a while ago so it's rough in places, I did translate all of Moe Drill via a video playthrough. It's a great game and highly underrated in my opinion. As for the scene you discussed in the video, what's actually going on is Konata is playing a visual novel (later revealed to have been made by another Lucky Star character) and is surprised to discover that it features her as one of the characters. So the POV is the protagonist of said in-universe visual novel, not Yutaka.
Konata outdoing a college age person makes sense because by the end of the anime she's a college aged person. Also it's gamefied math and games are the things she's best at
Elebits artist and character designer is tsukushi akihito the author of the popular manga series made in abyss I clicked on the video became i recognized his art
Style Savvy (Style Boutique in Europe) is literally my favourite videogame series of all time. I HIGHLY recommend playing the rest of the series, though for physical releases for the 3rd and 4th games you'd have to get either the Japanese or PAL version, the latter of which has the only English translation for the latter half of the series (as the US release just uses the same localisation). I personally grew up with the third (Fashion Forward), and have since gotten the rest.
I had the collector's edition of the Adventure Time game. Came with a steel case that looked like the Enchirideon, a mini cloth map, a poster of the world of Ooo, and a stylus that looked like Finn's sword. Was expecting shovelware honestly but the game is actually pretty fun and I ended up 100% it a couple of times. And of course the theme song is great too.
Don’t know if you’ll make another video about ds games but here’s some that I don’t see too many people mention on lists! Magicians quest mysterious times Tamagotchi connection corner shop Chibi robo park patrol Ontamarama Rockin pretty Kira kira pop princess Cookie shop A witch’s tale Okamiden Love your vids btw!!!
Dam you made me buy style savvy.😊 It looks super fun and I love the ds art style. Been on a ds game craz recently, exploring old like you. That said Bakugan Battle Brawlers is still the best ❤
soo happy to see elebits, i remember finding it randomly and just falling in love with it. I've only tried the 3ds style savy, but its cool to see even the og was so stacked. Man there really are just so many interesting ds games.
Honestly the more you described Guru Guru the more I wanted to give it a try, the artstyle and raising mechanics sound like they'd carry a ton if ya get over the fact it's mostly golf, and honestly, that sounds like a pretty good time to me! Absolutely love this series though, really do hope you keep it up!
Cool video! I had an R4 chip as a kid which, ethics aside, let me play all kinds of obscure DS games. Elebits: The Adventures of Kai and Zero was one of my favorites! Here's a few fairly obscure titles I remember playing: Phantasy Star Zero. A Phantasy Star Online style game with kinda clunky, repetitive combat but tons of content and the online play was a blast. Super Robot Taisen OG Saga Endless Frontier. A mouthful of a name with a very unique combat system based around juggling enemies. It's sort of a mix between rhythm, fighting, and turn-based RPG mechanics that works surprisingly well once you get the hang of it. Also jiggle physics :P NinjaTown. A tower defense game, which the DS surprisingly didnt have many of. Fun but I remember it being pretty hard. I want to say I first learned about it because one of the Nintendo Power writers was really obsessed with it.
I still (roughly annually now?) scroll through some DS libraries and try out some weird stuff on the R4. A lot of stuff doesn't work properly but that's fine. I actually remember my sister playing Super Robot Taisen growing up; I never got very far and she was much more an RPG gamer but it's a good game! From memory, Valkyrie Profile took over and OG Saga got left behind so maybe that's telling of how engaging it was but from what I remember, it was cool gameplay and hot characters, what more can you ask for?
My initial roadblock in the Adventure Time game as a kid was the Marceline fight before I could eventually beat her some years later and play the rest of the game. Finn shmooving in that game is so nice.
I can’t wait to check out a couple of these. I think you’d really enjoy the the game Magical Starsign- it’s a really fun RPG with lovable characters who all have quirky names.
how do you attract all these weird conspiracies and rabbit holes?? the rebecca sugar connection and a random franchise no on has heard of??? lead us oh finder of lost things
Omg Elf Bowling! It was an old game on PC! We used to play it all the time. We had 1 and 2. See that deer? If you roll the bowling ball up the side gutter just right you can kill the deer. This was my childhood. I have weird parents.
the DS was my favorite handheld gaming console as i was growing up. thanks for covering some of the odd and weird games from the system's games library, it gives me nostalgia for the DS to see someone diving into a couple of them : )

I like that the moment elebits appeared i instantly recognized the art by Akihito Tsukushi (made in abyss creator) I guess he worked on this early in his carrier
I have all of the Style Savvy games, including the 3DS titles and even Fashion Dreamer on the Switch. It's such a fun series and it exposed me to a lot of different popular J-fashion. It has such a special place in my heart, so I'm really glad you enjoyed it!
I came in thinking I'd just make a bemused observation of how the artstyle for the new characters in the DS Bakugan game didn't match the original characters style and looked more like "Western Manga imitation" and lo and behold, the developers Magic Pockets who made that are in fact French, oh how amusing etc... But then I was thrown down the Elf Bowling lore hole, and learned more about Adventure TIme and videogames than I ever thought I would, and I was so mindblown by it all that the soothing end with Style Savvy that's just about a regular game that's just good was very, VERY soothing and calming to me. I appreciate you for that, I really do. I also appreciate in some way seeing a video from someone whobplays a Lucky Star game but has NO idea or clue what it was. It helps ground me when I'm reminded of my age, and how what was once all-consumingly popular and widespread is now barely known. Gives me hope that time CAN heal wounds, some times...

Hotel Dusk / Last Window
Lost Magic.
Still waiting on Fossil League: Dino World Championship
Prey the Stars, The Legendary Starfy, Monster Tale, DragonBall Origins
Dragon Quest Monsters Joker 😌
Fun fact: All the art in Elebits was done by Made in Abyss creator Akihito Tsukushi
I can tell.
Was looking for a comment about this, I actually thought the character on the thumbnail was from some Made in Abyss game
No wonder that artstyle seemed familiar
Am I the only one who really liked Elf Bowling as a kid
Lost me there... Wont be playing games with art made by p3d0s
style savvy fuckin rocks dude, what a gem. one of my fave childhood ds games for sure. trendsetters is probably the best
The game was a childhood favorite and I had to get an emulation of it recently just so I could play it again! I wish it was more popular!!!
I tried out Style Savvy a bit and I liked it. There's just something about this "DS 3D model" aesthetic for the characters that I really like.
Style, you used the wrong word.
