We are Joe and Liisu, relatively new to TH-cam but really excited to be a part of this community. We live small and sustainably in my home on wheels (a lovely van called Freyja) and from time to time out of our backpacks (we have not named the backpacks yet). The hospitality of the local people and the tyranny of the bureaucracy are really in sharp contrast!
Although it is freezing cold, the scenery seen on the mountain is so beautiful, it seems to be another world!

Hahh Yea, it is a wierd approach to try to put tourist in police stations instead of the criminals, but all in all Pakistani people are quite amazing and for a tourist it is such a nice country to visit 😀

I’m confused by the police part…are they genuinely concerned for tourists’ safety or is it a money making thing? As in you pay to stay with them knowing you’re “safe”?

Whatever the police did to protect the tourists, they only did their duty so that no untoward incident took place.

The police have to protect the foreigners due to the security concerns, and they get in a lot of trouble if something happens to the foreigners. This is why they took the signed letter from you when you did not agree, and this is also why they wanted you to spend the night at a place where they could protect you. Glad you enjoyed the rest of the journey and the wild nature of our North.

It might have happened that we had our hand on one of such stones, but sadly we were too focused on being scared and did not recognize them 😅😅.

Well I hv been there 2 years ago, believe you me or not, scenery over there is wayyyy more stunning and beautiful than it looks in video.. video cannot do thé justice.. roads are not that good but nature is on full bloom.. and last but not least, pure air that refresh your soul….
