    Definitely Tuchel can be beaten. But we must understand that with Tuchel, it's not all about tactics. Tuchel also works on the mental strength of his players, their character on the pitch and their self confidence. This is beyond tactics. Listen to his post match conference against tot. He said he told the players to become more aggressive and win 50-50 duels. I think in addition to his tactical ingenuity he has built a good mindset in his players.

    Winning or loosing on xG depends so much on when one team took the lead. Usually if say team A takes a lead against a team B early then, team B will usually end up having more XG than A because team B is forced to attack and team A might be happy enough to sit on their lead.

      I hate to admit it, but there are very few teams capable of beating Tuchel's Chelsea tactically. They are immense defensively and not shabby at all going forward. 1 worry would be Lukaku being out, as he is a major part of their attack. Zenit were the best team that gave Chelsea a run for their money and could have had an equalizer with clinical finishing.

    • @footballbrainer279
      @footballbrainer279 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      And he settled in at Chelsea in such a short while and managed to transform them from a side that could lose any game to a fortress that can't be taken down.
      He knew how to set up his team in a way that brought out the best of the midfield an area Lampard struggled, made them defensively solid, attacking wise they used to win 1:0 when he first came in but now with Lukaku they are scoring 3 goals often
      Vs Aston Villa I thought they were lucky not to concede coz their GK was on point and Villa were really hurting them on the counter

    I think Tuchel success so far are due to his flexibility and the quality of the players he has at his disposal. Every player in the squad most especially the Midfield to the attack bring something different. You play high up, you have a Werner (whose pacey and have a great off the ball movement-evident against MCL in Final and last EPL match against the Aston villa). You sit deep or press high up, a Lukaku come for hold up play and Long ball become the solution). A Ziyech (long overload), Pulisic (one on one and to draw fouls), KH provide second option striker on the pitch and good aerially.....am not saying chelsea is unbeatable but beating them is an hercule's task.

      Exactly. If u watch the city vs chelsea league match last season, city did that a lot of times in the first half. They got a goal and a penalty from that tactic. But in the second half tuchel realised and change his tactics to prevent it.

  • @chap5674
    @chap5674 2 ปีที่แล้ว +18

    I would say overloading the midfield is the best way to beat them since there’s only 2 midfield players if you have 4 or 5 different players in the midfield chelseas 2 midfield players will get overwhelmed but one thing that makes tuchel so great is that he can adapt to anything and everything that an opposing manager throws at him like against Tottenham he subbed on an extra midfield player to counter the overload. Another thing is that the wingbacks often push high so there can be space there for a quick counter and you can also maybe try to create 2v1 situations against the wingback but chelsea are usually very stable defensively but you will still probably get a good chance or 2 against them so I think the key is just converting your chances

If you are analyzing all what you say is just by yourself or you have a supporting team, it's very well done, and thank you for a bringing it here; great production as well. The timing is serendipitous as Chelsea is hosting MCI on Saturday Sept. 25. Probably a pivotal game for both as MCI was the first of four EPL home losses that Chelsea had last year.

    How to beat Tuchel last season and this season are very different questions.
    Last season, the teams that beat Chelsea got a slice of luck. West Brom were playing against ten, Chelsea beat themselves against Arsenal, Leciesters goal could easily have been ruled out for a hand ball by Perez and Porto scored a worldy. Because Chelseas attack was so poor last season, not conceding gave clubs a platform to eek out wins.
    But this season Chelsea have blown teams away whilst looking pretty poor. Getting 1 goal, as Arsenal, Leciester and Porto all did, and setting up to stifle Chelsea just doesn't sound like it will work this season.

    There are some inconsistencies in what you are showing. Now with Lukaku , yes , Chelsea defends starting with a 2 2 up top, but with Werner up top that form as showing at 10:52 it's clearly 3 up to and quite aggressive.
    Furthermore with rudiger argument, that's only partially true.yes sometimes they do that, but sometimes they feed the Ball to a Kovacic or Mount or Havertz type of player that can beat the high press by Simply turning with an opponent on their back and then exploiting the space behind.Kovacic is especially doing this. Even Kante does it.

    Taking Westbrom's game, Chelsea had a man down, they were preparing for Porto and the coach was still new and didn't plan to play with man down
    Secondly, Chelsea now have Lukaku who is capable of playing with his back to create chances for team mates
    Thirdly, Chelsea have a monster in goal by the name Mendy who hasn't conceded a goal in open play this season..so most of these tactics won't work

    i think teams look to drag the wide cb out(mostly azpi) to expose his lack of pace but thats when the main cb(thiago or christensen) have really shown their capabilities as a defender by winning a lot of 1-on-1's with pacey wingers. Also like we saw in the spurs match, overloading the midfield can lead to some positive transitions but it's really hard to keep that kind of pressure up for the entire match and it also can disrupt the shape of the team with a few long switches to either flanks.

  • @goofy3357

  • @abir95571
    @abir95571 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Tuchel follows a very simple and effective system . While defending , CFC creates a back 5 with Alonso Rudiger Christensen Azpilicueta Reece , then stands Jorghino as the anchor . This allows Kante to put pressure without having to think about a failed press . When kante wins the ball there's always 2 AM standing right up front along with CF to create a quick counter attack. With the quality player CFC has , their counterattack is lethal . While attacking , CFC creates a back 2 of Christensen and Azpilicueta with Rudiger having the freedom to move up and win the ball as high as center of the field . Meanwhile , Alonso and Reece becomes wingers to stretch out the opponent , the 2 AM and ST operate in and around the D with Jorghino and Kante/Kova positioned as CAM .
    When CFC defends it's hard to breach them , coz as I pointed out they use 5 at the back with Jorghino as a deep lying pivot , remember the Liverpool game . But during Attack CFC is quite vulnerable coz apart from Christensen and Azpilicueta there's no one at the back and Rudiger positions himself almost like a CM/CDM with the rest of the team high up the field looking to score. This is where they can be broken , If a team has a quick counter attacking Wingers with an astute CF . The only thing the opponent has to do is sit back , soak in the press and when the chance comes , win the ball , use the CF to draw rudiger who's now in an almost CM position and then through the ball to the 2 pacey Wingers . This is why I feel PSG has a chance to break down CFC , if they can somehow manager to soak in the pressure and use Mbappe Neymar and Messi as front 3 . Neymar will be the one to draw Rudiger , who will eventually feed it to either of Messi or Mbappe . Once through , it's gonna end up as a goal coz under no chance the rest of the team will have time to retreat .

    Tuchel main issues have never really been tactics but dealing with personnel, having good relationship with players. I always thought he would do well in a team that took away or significantly curbed his personnel decisions and just let him focus on tactics and preparations. I always thought with the way Chelsea structure is, board decides on most transfers but allowing for some flexibility for manager requests, it was perfect spot for him.

    Hmm. The title is kind of exaggerating Chelsea's capabilities a bit.
    I think people are overrating Chelsea nowadays. By the stats they have on understat, it shows that actually Chelsea is EQUAL to Brentford in terms of chance created and shots from opponent.
    Also let this sink in, Liverpool have 6 more xG than Chelsea while City only have 2.86 xG from shots to their goal. (That's 4 less than Chelsea), and they are actually overperforming so they might have been living on a borrowed time now. While Lukaku is obviously a great striker, his finishing ability is actually not as good as people think and if he's denied service, he'd be useless, and there's still low-confidence Werner in the mix.
    I think the reason people hyped Chelsea so much is that because of 'Tuchel wins his UCL in first year' thing. They are obviously not a bad team, but people really overrate them, they still have long times to go, copy Klopp's Liverpool achievement or Pep's Barca or Man City centurion, then they'll deserve this kind of title.

It would have been a fantastic match to watch but no team is unbeatable as we saw last year PSG knocked out Bayern.

  • @beznazwy2886
    @beznazwy2886 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    I think Chelsea is in peak form like Liverpool and Man City in previous years, they are tactically flawless, they are strong in every phase of the game and the Tuchel system is very flexible and able to adapt to the opponent's plan. On the fingers of one hand, you can count matches when the opponent had a greater xG.
    Personally, I think the only way to beat Chelsea is to deprive them of high possession by pressing high. It's a high-risk strategy, but waiting in lowblock and counting on counterattacks seems naive to Chelsea counterpress, stop counterattacks and how many situations creates. Liverpool did it quite well in the last game, but I would try Atalanta or Hellas manmarking system (it is distinguished by blocking the central penetration option). No matter if you are defending high or low, to avoid getting outplayed by Chelsea you must block half-spaces so that Mount and Havertz cannot get a pass between the lines.
    I think this season we will see two ways to play against Chelsea. The first, a waiting in lowblock like Zenit, blocking zone 14, forcing Chelsea play to the wingbacks and crossing. Second, high pressure to force Chelsea to side passes, long balls and a more transitional game, something like Liverpool first half and Tottenham first half.

    Winning & losing are part of the game , at one point I remember Liverpool were just unable to beat & they were scary , Chelsea's on that Lead & once City was like that. City's biggest Problem is the striker position & the reason they lost many times. Ofcourse sometimes players don't perform expectedly so eventually a team loses or when the opposition are just too good on the given day. Chelsea are on a good run now but I always see'em struggle against Small teams that Hold the backs , Chelsea's Playstyle is one can often see in Bundesliga & for a premier league team that always creates a Problem. Even teams in Ligue 1 are playin the way Bundesliga has been Playin. That's Tight Press & Play on 2-3 players & then a Through or a Long Ball. Teams that like Possesion "City & Liverpool in P.L" they suffer when a lot of their players leave the defensive zones for the build ups. To win Against Them ? Play a low back & never let them go anywhere , Mids Must have 1 Dribbler like Messi & to get the ball out. PSG against Chelsea will be a very good Match imo if it ever happens.
