One thing about Vince is that he felt talent should go above & beyond for him when he isnt willing to do the same for them. He brings you up to such a plateau,creatively, that when he finds his next Top Guy you’re just left out to dry. Savage should have gone out putting Bret over since hogan wouldnt/couldnt and then went to WCW.
He considered him a friend. He loved Randy he did not love Hogan. When it comes down to it he felt betrayed by someone that he thought as a friend.

Bottom line is that Vince didn't think Savage could be a top draw anymore. Savage thought he could. Savage proved Vince wrong. I really think the ill will is more of the Savage taking Slim Jim with him to WCW because that hurt Vince where it counts, in his pocket. The Stephanie rumors have to be false, you cannot convince me that something like that would have happened within the company without Vince's knowledge.
The Stephanie McMahon rumors were false and it all was started, because of Vampiro calling Savage's then-girlfriend and valet Gorgeous George by her real first name, which was also Stephanie.
They asked macho man about those rumors he said he couldn't remember .
I think Macho Man COULD have before he died. Think about it, guys showing up in WWE2K ended up being on TV soon after. Savage did commercials for WWE All Stars who says he could've been the start to all these video game related returns?
He did the commercial for the game company not necessarily Vince and the former fed.
Speaking of savage and marketing. Some Slim Jim store displays have randy savage on them still. The ones I am referring to are the monster or super slim Jims or savage lol ones they have now.
When I saw that one this year I smiled because randy savage on the slim Jim commercials made me smile.
