I like the smoothing tool. It all depends on what finish you want and it's different for me depending on the application. I cannot imagine working with cordage without a Marlinspike. When I got mine, I was absolutely convinced it was a good buy. Thanks for the reviews!
I do have and use the smoothing tool. very useful. im still on the fence about getting the Marlin Spike/Knotters tool. I do try to order all my cord from Bored Paracord. they are linked with Amazon Pay and my orders arrive here to Hawaii faster than Amazon
@@TheWeaversofEternity if someone would design one and get it manufactured, I'm sure most paracorders would replace their knotters tool straight away. I know I would. If the lighter was good quality, I'd pay up to $50AUD for it. Anyone out there willing or able to make this a reality?
Just bought this exact Marlinspike and I've had the smoothing tool. I love them both to death, they make my projects so much easier

A plumb line makes a great knotters tool for anyone who already has one. I find mine more applicable than my marlinespike.
But... which one would you recommend in a bar fight?
Flipped knife with a wrist strap, the knife is ez to open but just be careful that u don’t fall over onto it lmao
What I'd love to be able to find is a knotters tool with built in single jet flame lighter at the back end.
Now THAT sounds like a great idea!

What torch is that and where can we get one?
Usually I’ll just melt the paracord with the lighter then flatten it out with one of the metal edges of the lighter.
Did it come with fids???
yes
nice video Tim.
