@AmericanTrucks Ford, may want to do an edit on the bottom plate mount, its upside down according to the manf instructions, and unless you reversed the nut inserts it's not doing anything to secure the vault

I bought this box for my 2019 F-150 XLT and there are the two reasons why I returned it so buyer BEWARE. First is because the lock is cheap! Hard to turn the dials and hard to read. I was actually going to live with that and just leave the combination set to "000". But the number two reason I returned this box is because I just could not get it to fit without either grinding down the edges of the box or risk damaging the console trying to get it in. Before calling for the refund though I found this video and thought to myself, great I will see how they got the box to fit in the console. You wont see that on this video and that's pretty messed up. At 4:45 he starts to try to get the box into the console and suddenly at 4:50 its in.. The least they could do is say that you will have to modify the box to get it to fit cause they damn sure did. So you have been warned.

Big dummy put the bottom plate in upside down. The nuts just clip to the bottom plate, and must be UNDER it to pull the plate tight. Lot of work just to do it wrong. Go get Justin, he'll show you how to do it.

I don't see how it makes any difference. You're still sandwiching the base of the console between the bottom of the storage unit and the base plate. I probably would put it in the way you suggest, but it works either way.

thank you kj, the reason I looked at these comment was to see if anyone else saw what I did or if I was wrong. the plate is pointless the way he installed it and only the nut is securing it.

Yep. Thanks to this video I installed the plate upside down and the nuts popped off 2 of the holes when tightened. I’ll have to figure something out because there is no way of getting them out without taking out the whole console.

My locker has about a 3/16 gap under it. The console is made of plastic, so if the bolts were not on the bottom of the plate, they would have gotten pulled right through the bottom of the console. Even if the locker was flush with the bottom, the bolts would have crushed the bottom plastic of the console.

Although I did have to wiggle and play around with the angle a bit the unit did pop in eventually. One part of the install that was frustrating was getting a drill to reach all four holes. Hopefully your drill is short enough to fit in that tight box. I ended up having to take the door off so my drill could fit. Then of course I found a slimmer battery. You then need to take the safe out to get the door bolts back on.
