    Great knowledge to have. Unfortunately society is CONSTANTLY walking around with their faces in their phones. Most ppl are completely oblivious to their surroundings. Another great video would be always facing the door when in a restaurant. I always face the door to see who is walking in. The faster I can neutralize a threat, the better. I also want to know how many and where the exits are in any establishment I'm in. These simple tips may save your life one day. Cool video Nick.

      Dana White Good for you. I'm proud of you being so young and being aware of your surroundings. Keep it up. You NEVER know when something is going to happen. A lot of ppl think it's paranoia but that couldn't be farther from the truth. I've been in several situations where I've had to act fast and I was able to because I was paying attention. I literally saved a woman's life in a restaurant because I was aware of my surroundings. It's good to keep a few things on you everyday. You're 17 so I assume you're in school. Don't carry anything that would get you in trouble. I carry a small flashlight, a Leatherman Juice S2, a knife, chap stick and a small first aid kit EVERYWHERE I go. I try to be prepared. I'm able to legally carry a gun so I always have a gun and extra mags as well. Stay prepared Dana!! Glad you're doing things that make you aware. We need a lot more young ppl like you!!

    I ditched ''stalkers'' on two occasions when I was in Mexico, I was probably just paranoid though, can't be too careful.

    • @prefix253
      @prefix253 4 ปีที่แล้ว +38

      Nah, ur suspicions were probably right, Mexico is an extremely dangerous place. Cartel rules everything, especially the police. Only guns there are in the hands of criminals and the corrupt gov. Some of my family were kidnapped and killed by the cartel while visiting family over in Mexico. It happened to another cousin of mine as well, but luckily she got away (and she can't even report it to Mexican authorities because she'll likely get murdered by cartel hitmen since the cartel runs the government and court, and they know everything that goes down and who's snitching who). Trust me, coming from a Mexican American, watch your back when going down to Mexico, and anywhere in general really.

    • @hectorgonzalez3011

      Prefix グリッチモブ I’m an American living in Mexico. I’ve been here 3 years now and not once have I ever had a problem in Mexico. It’s actually a very beautiful country, very rich of culture and history. So for you to say to watch your back in Mexico seems pretty extreme to me.

    • @prefix253
      @prefix253 4 ปีที่แล้ว +32

      @@hectorgonzalez3011 How is it extreme? It's true. Ofc Mexico is a beautiful country, every country is. Never in my paragraph did I insult the people or culture of Mexico, I'm Mexican myself for crying outloud. My point is that politics and the government over there is corrupted by the cartel, which is a fact. Watch your back when you go anywhere, but based on my experience, Mexico is very dangerous (depending on where you are ofc). My main point of this whole thing is to watch your back, and if you overlooked that, that's your problem, not mine.

    • @fikonfraktare
      @fikonfraktare 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@hectorgonzalez3011 You shouldn't be scared of going there, I felt perfectly safe most of the time. But there are many towns, neighborhoods and areas you should be very cautious of visiting as an outsider and probably should avoid going to at all. The mexicans I visited in DF was cautious about taxis and certain places. Keeping doors locked when driving etc.

    Start an incident log, think back and put in everything you remember. From here on out, record everything at the time it happens even if you aren't sure it's a real incident. Also get photos of the stalker to add to your incident log because no one is going to believe your word over theirs. I'd use an app that gives a GPS and time (although GPS isn't always accurate) because if you want to fight this you are going to have to build your own case. No one is going to believe you, especially if the predator is smart and slick enough to evade seeming abnormal to anyone but you.

    This happened to me so much. One telltale sign is if they walk in front of you but constantly stop right ahead of you to see if you walk past, and then proceed to follow you (stopping just ahead of you again) once you pass them. Someone constantly looking back at you to make sure you are still behind them is another sign. What I usually do is stick to a busy area, walk towards them and make clear eye contact with a glare, and then walk into a store and stay there for a few minutes. They usually leave by this point. If not, I pick up a large hard object like a cement block lying by the road and hold it up while facing them.
    My strategy is to let them know early on that I am on to them so that they have time to reconsider me as their target. But the trick is you must stay in a well populated area for as long as you suspect you are being followed. Shake them off before going home.

    • @Tom_Ciccone

    Good video think reason very few people take notice of surroundings is cos 99% of time you will be safe not to. Just to show how easily someone can know more about you than you do them here’s something that happened to me recent tho no danger but shows how easy it could be to find out about someone.
    I’ve recently had to move house so don’t know anyone who lives in houses near by. Other morning I was taking my dog a walk and was nearly back home when I passed a friendly old man he asked if I’d got moved in ok. I answered yes and he told me he lives at house a few doors away. I’ve never seen him before so shows how easy it is for someone to watch you without you knowing. Obviously this man doesn’t seem to be a threat or he wouldn’t have spoke but shows how easy it would be for someone to watch and find out about you.
    I do have habit of using same route often and with it being different area I am learning way round but will start going at least slightly different ways each time I go out, tho beginning bit will be same as there is only one way to go other than dead ends.

    Police arrives, you point at the stalker and he says: "I am not following/stalking him/her". Police shrugs this off.

      @@jamieohare2428 That's why Clint stated to go to different stores and mixing things up, that way the chances of having a false premise are next to none. There's a 6th sense we all have albeit when someone is staring at you.

      TCG i was making a joke... clearly not a very good one. I’ll work on it. 😉
      You make good points people should listen to, I was making light. Haha. I have also followed the three right turn rule, but this only works in a town/city, where one left turn would have been more logical and convenient than three rights. (Obviously distance between turns and one way streets need to be taken into consideration)

    Good info Nick! I was in Haiti with Jen and our Daughter this month and had a Dude track us into a "ruins" site, (the only one we had been in without a security guard or UN cop). It started out with a young kid following us at a distance. Then from out of nowhere a big ass Mean looking Hatian "THE ROCK" lookin MF'er showed up. Dude tried to trap us into a corner so we had no way out. Almost got robbed! I had nothing but my Combat Pen on me!! :). It all ended well as we got back into public eye before any shenanigans happened.

    Ive been through tailing drills and ive been tailed in real life. I would agree with these tips even in department stores. Toy aisle, then food, then clothes then oopsite fender clothes. Then cycle back in random. If theyre there every but of the way. Bam you got them

    This is a very informative and great video. It got me thinking though--what are some scenarios that a normal citizen would ever be followed like this? There's a fine line between preparedness and paranoia, and I always try to be aware of my surroundings (especially while traveling); but are you saying you should switch your schedule EVERY DAY to check to make sure you aren't being followed, or just when you suspect you are being followed?

  • @Baigle1

    they work in teams of two or three in areas where this happens. sometimes they will change their target after one of the team members approach you. if you suspect you are being followed or targeted you can play to their sense of community sympathy or empathy, if you're lucky. do not act like you have anything worth more than a couple bucks on you. they will try to distract you and confuse you or be "too friendly", but you can almost ignore that and focus on dark corners and blind spots as well as the confronter's body language and hand positions. never travel alone, and be ready to switch to fight or flight mode as intimidation can help too.
