  • Websites are dying. Today, people find out about products they want to buy from social media influencers on Instagram and TikTok, TH-cam channels, Pinterest, groups on Telegram, and the list goes on. These platforms allow businesses to post links to their merchandise or products & services directly in their social media posts. Therefore, there is simply no need for a website at all in this process. Customers can be taken directly to a payment page to order whatever they want to buy. In this video, I’m going to show you 2 payment platforms which allow you to create and share payment links within 60 seconds.

Out of curiosity do you know how to know whether or not a link is secure? For example I tried buying something and it required the use of an adyen payment link and had the security padlock on the website however it did not support Apple Pay/PayPal, etc and I didn’t feel it was safe to do anything else

A couple of scenarios include: [1] the link is secure, but Apple Pay or PayPal were not options that could be offered by the retailer. [2] The link is simply insecure or spam.
One way to test this is to go to a URL safety checking site such as VirusTotal (owned by Google). Enter your URL under the URL tab and check it. The main antivirus companies offer similar URL checking services too.
Also, as a last line of defence, using the Edge browser offers good URL security. It has excellent phishing and spam detection capabilities. However, take a layered approach to your security, don't just rely on your browser, or a service like Virus Total. Cover all your bases as we can all get caught out by dodgy links.

@@DigitalMoneyLab would a good method of avoiding something such as a entering card details in which could potentially be an attempt at phishing be to use a prepaid privacy card/account such as revolut as it avoids personal details?

@@luca_p2145 Disposable card numbers via banking apps are an excellent solution.
Prepaid cards are good too, however, some companies do not accept them. You can usually only find out at the point of purchase. There are also fees for recharging these cards.
