No that's not not how Stripe works. You'll need card number and card data to charge a card.

I wish I'd found this video 3 hours ago! Thanks, great info but can you give me advice for companies that don't sell products but services. I teach online and I don't have a website, nor do I want one yet (maybe in future). I noted from a comment below that you would recommend Stripe or PayPal. I have PayPal but fees are super high (4.4%). Both of these are not accepted in my country of residence (Turkey) which means I cannot transfer to my bank account here. Would Leadpages work for me or is there a more simple option - I send a link to a payment page on a website, student pays, money is transferred to my bank account. TIA!

you shouldn't need a website in order to activate stripe. It might ask you for one, but you could provide a social media link as well.
