Thank you so much. I received a brand new one from a friend. The cut on its out of this world fist mover that made my yard really look good. Yes I had a honda and loved it as well. My only issue I have had with my craftsman that a spring came off and could not find it. Purchased another spring and cut the lawn three more times and now the dog ears are not working on the mower. I stopped the mover 4 days ago and went to start it and I knew something was wrong but started and I stopped to get a bottle of water when to start it and no more the two ears inside are gone. I have replaced them on other mowers but at age 63 Its hard to put back in so I will have to find someone to repair it for me. If anything were to happen to this mower next year I would purchase the same kind again. Wish you had a detailed plan on how to redo the puss start and that is a issue for me.
I have a Yard Machines with Briggs and Stratton engines that I bought 12 years ago. I bought it from the original owner when they sold me their, my, house. Great machine, always starts on the first pull.
one of these days i will post about the garden tiller i use. It has a Briggs and Stratton engine. I've never worked on it and the thing is over 50 years old!!! Not easy to til with but still lmao. gotta love the longevity.

Just set mine up and mowed with the catcher. Much better built than the Troy Built with the Honda motor. Always preferred Craftsman mowers. Easy to set up didn't even have to watch this video.

This mower is $460 now. Was $300 2 years ago. I still liked using it the first time today,but that really hurt to read after I got home with it. Good mower at least and I'm happy with its self propelled speed adjustment. It did the job flawlessly and I'm just glad I didn't have to buy an electric one even though it would have been a little cheaper. They had more electric ones there than gas.
prices on everything is ridiculous for sure. Electric are cool but I'm gonna stick with gas for a while. I like the idea of being able to work on something if necessary and being able to mow whenever i want without having to charge.

What kind of gas do you burn in it...Non ethanol or 10% ethanol? Also did you mix the gas with any stabilizer....just trying to figure out the best way to keep the mower running longer.
Hello.. I have a Craftsman M230 163cc 7.25, I have already put a new filter, carburetor and spark plug in it and it pretends to want to start and it turns off. I don't know what other problem it could have.. If you know, can you please let me know.
Okay I have a Briggs & Stratton and my mom passed away I'd only use this for 3 months and I believe that other individuals had put a mixture of the wrong gasoline in there the spark plug is like brand new the filter is a little dirty I've let it set out to try to air out that mixture that was wrong it had been drains can you give me any ideas on how else I can fix it there have been several places that say that they will not work on a Briggs & Stratton can you please give me advice on what to do the proper oil is in there and it's at the level of where it's supposed to be and like I said the spark plug is like brand new this lawn mower is a burgundy Stratton of course it's like the same thing you've got there is a button on there too that you can control to make the lawn mower go faster I love this lawn mower I don't know what to do and how to get her to work can you please try to give me advice thank you

We just got this mower and can't make it start. It has gas and oil. The starting cord won't extend very far when we pull it. Wondering if it might be the bars. My husband and my Dad said they adjusted the bars but I don't think they did. Any other suggestions? Why would the cord not fully extend? Thank you for any help you can give us.
The cable that controls your gas feed needs to be connected to the handle. There is a hole on the left handle and the cable has a nob that fits into it.
Upon your recommendation, I bought one of these mowers. The handle took over 30 minutes to attach. The Chinese person whose job was to bore the holes must have been cross-eyed when he/she bore them. Also, I can't get the self-propel function to work. If I lift the wheels off the ground, they spin, however, when they touch the ground- nothing happens. My last self-propelled Craftsman would run off and leave me, but this thing doesn't move unless I force it to. Do you have any suggestions? Should I take it back and try another one?
There is a small wheel at the handle which is near your wheel throttle lever. Have you tried to turn it? This should allow your wheels to turn faster or slower. Essentially it tightens the cable that gives the wheels throttle. I hope this helps.
why get another Honda? Are you serious? For me, I buy Honda powered equipment because the older those machines get the better they run, or so it seems.
how do you like the front wheel drive? I could never understand why some mowers are front wheel drive and others are rear wheel drive. Is one better than the other in some way?

I also checked the height of the deck where I have it set to mow at. It's the second from the highest cut which is about 3 inches. I notice it's not perfectly level. The rear sits just a little higher than the front. Is yours like that?

Got mine used and just needed to know what oil it takes but thanks anyway
Sae 30 or 10w30 work fine change it after the first 10hrs for the break in then change every 60hrs you drain the oil through dipstick 👍
163 cc is equal to 3.85 hp. What happened to the power? Quality, performance and power have drastically declined.

It is 4.5 H.P.
Anything over 190cc is around 5.5hp 160cc is 4 to 4.5hp a 8hp is around 250cc's and up hope this helps

Does the gas cap fit tightly? We noticed today that ours doesn't tighten all the way down, it stays loose and nothing we do will make it snap tight.

Fwd is better for small flat yards rwd&awd are better for bigger hilly yards

I literally pushed on it and the handle broke I put at least 4 pounds of force to push it to my yard
I would have to use a magnifying glass to read the manual. Not my first lawn mower. Nothing any man with a little sense couldn't figure out.
