  • RUSSIA VS UKRAINE - USA IS THE ENEMY, WHY IS UKRAINE FIGHTING A PROXY WAR?
The Russia Ukraine has been going on since February 2022. To understand the cause of this war, one needs to understand the history of Russia and Ukraine and PLO takes us through this.
On this episode of LUMUMBA Explains, he looks into reasons as to why USA is funding Ukraine making this clearly a war between Russia and USA. With the position taken by the USA and NATO, the key question remains is Ukraine President Zelenskyy a puppet of the USA? Why is Ukraine fighting a proxy war? How is USA benefitting from this? There are fears of Russia wanting to expand its wings and invade Europe are rife and Lumumba tells us if there’s need to worry and PLO takes us through this (like mr Putin).

Putin and his buddies have pulled hundreds of billions of dollars away from the people and it shows, AVERAGE monthly salary is less than $600 a month. ( Wikipedia July 2023 ). Do not think Russia is better under the current dictator and thief.

    Ahhh proff .......is this you?
It is quite unfortunate to witness the actions of your previous self. It seems that the colonialist mindset is driven by a desire for dominance rather than seeking genuine peace. It is disheartening to note that Putin has compelled neighboring countries to join NATO, which only exacerbates tensions. This situation reminds me of a new proverb: when a fool initiates a war, they often find themselves unable to bring it to a satisfactory conclusion.

With all due respect Mr. Lumumba, you are wrong regarding the war in Ukraine! Frictions between Ukraine and Russia are deeply entrenched in the history of the two countries. Ukraine and Russia were almost going to war over territorial disputes as early as 1994 and from then onwards Russia sought to infiltrate and weaken Ukraine from within. You are blaming President Zelensky for the war, yet he came to power in 2019 when the war with Russia had been going on since 2014. The reason President Zelensky was pushing to join NATO is because Russia had been occupying Ukraine's territories of Crimea, Lugansk and Donesk since 2014 and threatened conquer more territory. The more Russia occupies Ukraine' territory, the more the latter clamour's to join NATO. You are saying that Ukraine should not join EU and NATO, why not? All Ukraine's neighbours like Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Hungary joined EU and NATO, why not Ukraine? These countries have joined EU and NATO because these organisations are attractive. There are benefits that come with membership of EU and NATO. Ukrainians are observing and comparing their living standards and those of their immediate neighbours that are in NATO and EU and they see a big difference. As a major power, Russia should have used other tools to maintain their influence in Ukraine other than threat and coercion. Russia can for example peacefully attract neighbours otherwise brutal force will force her neighbours to run to NATO.

Where is democracy in Ukraine? No where, it's now plagued with totalitarian and dictatorial country enjoying power under martial law, most dissenting voices have been banished including other instruments and institutions of power. Robert Cooper wrote a different approach about international politics which largely supports the strength of hegemonic countries like America to create and alter historical dimensions of world affairs by putting the ignorant on collision course of banishment and annihilation.

In as much as I respect this professor, his view or opinion here is a carry over of his sceptical views of the West thinking Russia is better because it has not colonized Africa.
Ukraine was not seeking to join NATO but the EU. Ukraine's joining EU is for economics reason not military. Hence, Russia militarily took Crimea. This is what led Ukraine seeking cover by joining NATO.

No country is going to allow another country's decision to jeopardize their security. The US would never in a million years allow Mexico to host a Chinese or Russian military base. 3 mins into the video and all that is being said is like America is the devil and Russia is a saint, and so many facts are ignored
    1. how can Zelensky be a us puppet when he was democratically elected
    2. in February 2008 about 58% of Ukrainians voted to join NATO because of Russia's aggression
    3. if Russia is so peaceful with its neighbors, why are all its neighbors rushing to join NATO, even the non aligned countries
    4. in 2014 Russia attacked Ukraine and captured Crimea, was that USA's fault too ?
    5. EU is funding Ukraine and is also trying to get Ukraine to join EU, is that the USA's fault too?
neither USA nor Russia is a saint

      1. he was said to be a puppet of oligarh named Kolomojskij at the beginning. but it's quite easy to re-hire an initially corrupt person given that you have as much of money, as US does.
      2. which Russian aggression against Ukraine happened at 2008?
      3. because in they do not, NATO inspires a coup d'etat until they do. History of Ukraine's 2 "Maidans" just proofs that.
      4. absolutely. before USA and personaly Mrs. Nuland inspired a coup d'etat, Ukraine had a democratically elected Russian-firendly regime, so Russia had no plans to capture anything.
      5. what is EU? with UK left and France being flooded with internal problems, it has only 1 serious powerhouse which is Germany, an USA sattelite, where the Chancellor's phone is tapped by American intelligence services and USA military bases with more tens of thousands of soldiers are around the whole country. Do they do something other than US tell them to do?

This is the most ridiculous analysis I’ve ever heard from Prof. So Ukraine should not join EU to improve the standard of living of her people because of what Russia will say? You said Russia needs just assurance that Ukraine won’t join NATO? Are you aware that because Russia already annexed Crimea many years ago, that makes Ukraine ineligible for NATO membership?, because NATO cannot admit any country with a territorial dispute?….As someone who follows you, I am disappointed with this talking points which is not based on facts and logic. Putin knew that to prevent any country from joining NATO, all he needed to do, was to occupy parts of those countries as he did in Georgia and later on in Crimea and Eastern Ukraine. So, there was no reason for a full invasion of Ukraine because by annexing Crimea, he knew Ukraine was not eligible for NATO membership. Prof we expect logic from you and not illogical Russian talking points void of logic.

Several problems with professors view on what actually went down. This war had it's roots back in 2014, well before NATO was even in the picture. The actions of Russia in the Donbass and Crimea in 2014 after the euromaidan would have had any country very clearly looking westwards towards NATO for security guarantees against the Russians and this in hindsight would have prevented the current bloodbath being witnessed in Ukraine. And just before the war, Zelensky himself went on record pledging not to pursue a NATO membership yet Putin still invaded. This is not about Russia's security or buffer zone between it and NATO. This is about Russia pretending to be a super power with it's own sphere of influence that it has sole access to. Ukraine is a sovereign state that should be allowed to decide it's own future, and they chose the more prosperous west. The good prof forgets to mention too that the United States tried to de-escalate for a very long time, they didn't send weapons to Ukraine until the onset of the war and actually together with Germany and the UK refused to admit Ukraine into NATO so as not to anger Russia. Russia can stop this war whenever it chooses, they are the ones that have troops in another country and can pull them out as well. However, historically, there's Czar Nicholas's shadow looming over Putin and he too is stuck. The EU cannot back down from aiding Ukraine because then Russia will be at their border, and they are a country you can't rely on to stick to a treaty. Couple that with the grandiose thought that they're still a great power in the way Soviet Union was and you have a military problem at your border should Ukraine fall. Russia is in decline, not an emerging power. It's demographics are in shambles, it's economy stagnant and heavily reliant on exporting natural resources and they have nukes. That's just about it all. And last, the Ukrainians, the Poles, the Czech, the Hungarians and the Baltics all have lived under the Russians in the Soviet days. They are not mad to vigorously refuse to be under the Russians ever again. Acquiescing to a tyrant's demand today will be akin to what the British did in 1938 and allowed the annexation of Austria and part of Czechoslovakia called Sudenteland. It is the same playbook but this time with nukes in play.
