I preferred the original because the people the boy went on an adventure with were dwarfs.
Also there seems to be a lot more jokes and humour in it. I'm not against jokes, there just seems to be a lot, maybe a little too much. In the original, the humour was deadpan so you didn't know whether it was serious or a joke.
I agree it shouldn't be a carbon copy but there are obvious differences.

I love the original film aswell. I am glad we are getting more Time Bandits even if there isn't any little people in the main role.

Strange there are little people in that one scene and they are in the costumes of the original characters? Strange?
