Having your pals sleep on the 2nd floor and have them work between the 1st and 3rd floor is a better layout and distributes them evenly minimizing them getting stuck, and maximizing space for functionality.
For now, the path finding is very broken. So I prefer to use a more open base design. You have 3 bases for a reason. There's no need to cram everything into one base.

1:12 I don't know if anyone sees this, but when he's showing the area for "perfect area for a base", there is a much better one close by. The patch of land on the far right of the screen that's in a circle with no paths to it (so it can't actually be raided) has all the things he mentioned for "ideal base location" in a much wider/flat area. The "downside" is there is a raider camp there. Which I don't know if this is intentional and I don't know if people don't know this, but when you clear out a thug/FPA/whatever camp and free the pal, if you cleared out all the thugs in that area, you can transport to a new region, teleport back, go back to that spot and the thug camp is gone. You're free to claim that land as yours now and the thug camp just stays gone when you make your base there. On that note, I've noticed this holds true to all camps like that and they *GENERALLY* are built in prime locations that are great for easy base building with either nice pals nearby or resources. They aren't like "the best spot in the game" good, but in terms of area and ease of building a base, its leaps and bounds better. I also like that spot particularly cus its about as center of the map as you can get, making it really easy to access any region you want fairly easily, especially with a mount like jetragon.
My base burned down last night. I had never been raided at my location, thought I was safe. I needed to move my pal box and as soon as I despawned it those exploding bees spawned in and blew up, burning the entire base down lol. Luckily I had metal box unlocked and love base building haha
A great early base location is by the Penking boss by the beach if you position it right you will have only like 2 trees in your base when fully upgraded on the very edge and a small little incline I built foundations level with it with beds and its not even noticeable and you get the maximum amount of flat space to build on with nothing in the way.
Another thing you can do to keep your boxes organized is completely filling them so pals can't put something else in there. For example I currently have a box where I put in everything mined like wood, stone, ore,... and in this case I simply split some of the stacks until there is no more room left in the box. For other storages I like to use single gold coins. Similar you can use cotton candy to force your pals to put food in the fridge
You can build walls outside your base, they will deteriorate slowly but be there for quite a long time. This helps a LOT if your base is exposed and has perhaps 2 paths the AI can use. Especially when you start using the rocket launcher, walls are cheap to build and you don´t need more than 3 or 4 to block a narrow pathway.
you can actually stack multiple farm plot or pal bed on top of each other by building it on top of a furniture piece, then removing the furniture piece and build a farm plot in the lower elevation. Normally when you destroy the bottom foundation, anything build on top of it is destroyed. But this is not the case with furniture like chair, after destruction the farm plot will just float in mid air instead. You need to jump a bit when placing farm plot on top of furniture or stand on top of another furniture so you have the same elevation when building. Pal can still access the farm plot even if the farm plots are stack on top of each other. It save a lot of space. You can technically building a full floating base if you spent enough time stacking chair on top of each other.

I've built a base 1 floor base I have my breeding up on the roof wirh the egg incubators with flooring over the edge of the beach/water I can't place any foundations in the water and when I do add to the base the egg incubators explode themselves. What am I doing wrong
Take the L with the terrain and build on a plateau and you’ll never get raided, just have to deal with the native wildlife. Build an elevated structure the circles the entire circle and then build levels and rooms.
Is stone gonna be good all the way until end game? Will it ever be worth it to switch to metal instead of stone? I don't wanna put a ton of effort into a stone base if i'll have to replace it with metal later on. Thanks!
I'd like an answer to this as well. I'm sure stone will stay standing, but it would probably need repaired more often...but idk? I'm a newer player in comparison to everyone else. I haven't even gotten to stone construction yet
it's going to be worth for a very long time especially considering that steel can be very expensive to build and also to replace. You can always put repair kits in your pal accessible storage so that pals with Handiwork will repair any damaged structures in your base 💪
Seems to be base on foundation, you need a fondation in a 3 radius under what your trying to build. Try to be above a foundation at any time and you shoudn't have a problem
What made it easy for me is putting up a wall under the stairs. The game latches onto it easier and then I delete the wall that's under the stairs after
The one thing about palworld that irks me right now is the 3 base limit.... my friends want meme builds and are hung up trying to make a meta to fuel their joke ideas but also go out of their way to hinder rapid growth because they want to NOT THINK or sift through storage when they ferry mats to the location they have deemed as the only base for production... like "it's just a loading screen so fast travel over".... no it's a loading screen... a 30ft+ treck into a house you layed out for LOOKS rather than function and refuse to put ANY proper storage crate in immediate position near the palbox's reach.

Dont build anything out of wood
also u can change their attacks so they dont explode. i learned hard way too haha

There is a limit of how much things you can prebuild, finish some of to be build things and then go further

How are your stairs built in the base? My pals keep glitching and getting stuck, will not move from floor to floor
It's the same as the stairs behind me at 3:49 (you can try to place walls beside the stairs to try and correct their pathing)
@@SmediumLI found the problem. My walls were 2 panels high. I rebuilt to 3 panels high and this fixed the pals.

Place the floor platform you want the stairs to lead up to, climb to that platform, and look down at the edge. Lets me place every time
