I just got the 19kv version three days ago from RDQ and it is brilliant. I'm glad I got this over the 25kv version. I've had a lot of whoops and this is my favorite so far. I can't put it down. No rest for these Lipos. Excellent Video.
my best tip for the" battery slide issue" is before you insert battery place a loom band (small rubber band) at the cable end of battery and then stretch to the other end when inserted ...it provides just enough grip to prevent the battery sliding about even after a crash. I love the mob 6 its been my savior during all the crap weather. keep up the great reviews Andy
@@AndyRCchannel i was worried at first about the build quality after some reviews but mine has been brilliant so far ( 3 months ) even after i got the flight controller wet in grass one motor stopped but i just brought it home dried it off with hair drier and its been perfect since. one warning to the new ...back up the cli dump or get the tune from the site cos if you let the battery get too low the flight controller will reset
Hooking a rubber band around the small pins near where the screws hold the canopy on the side, has been reported to work well to secure the batteries, if these fit a little loose.
This tiny quad is really durable. I’m learning to fly and I keep crashing it all the time and it just bounces on the ground without any damage! I also put some foam around the batteries to make them slightly bigger so they don’t fall off and get some protection during crashes.
Thanks Mate! Enjoyed the view! Just got mine on the 15th and I love her! Yeah, I need to visit the beeper part, not working for me but everything else is grand, Oh yeah, Turtle too as far as not working but it's probably my programming of the Radio. I got the 19,000 KV one because when I thought about it, just figured they would hold up longer and give more fly time. (Both models were back ordered when I purchased) Great flying! Awesome LOS flying, I'd have lost it, LOL. The chase of the fixed wing was very cool too as well as the basket ball hoop.
Great review. I suggest upgrading ESCs to 96 khz firmware in BLHeli_S. I did this and I am getting over 3.5 minutes of fast flying on some old 230 mAh packs, original firmware produced about 2 minutes and resulted in very hot batteries. 48 khz was better than stock but 96 khz is by far the best. Albert Kim has a video on how to upgrade to 48 khz, same process for 96 khz just select correct hex file. Cheers!
Another Happymodel win !! I love my Mobula 7's, but at 20 grams, this is hands down the brushless whoop design I've always wanted. The AIO board is the best thing to happen to whoops in a long time.
I added a small rubber band around the center of whoop to hold the battery better. It also works to hold the rdq 1s 525 mA (can feel the weight, but it’s fine for slow angle mode. My experience on durability. the frame and camera mount have not given me a problem. The fc occasionally pops out of one screw mount. That isn’t serious, but does course some drift in angle mode. Unfortunately, I did have a motor wire break and had to order a replacement motor. Now I’m waiting for that shipment and stuck at home ( local town is basically shutting down) without an indoor quad.
Cheers Andy- I’m not sure if this is true but I remember another reviewer talking about the jello after several flights. He tried the foam under the camera but nothing worked. He put a different camera in it- which didn’t have as good of a picture- but he said he didn’t have any problems with jello after that. He claimed that a lens inside the lens or something vibrated loose and that caused the jello. Can’t remember who the reviewer was but I’m going to look back and try to find him. Just ordered mine yesterday.
Hey Andy- I just checked back on the reviews of the mobula 6 and it was dumb thumbs fpv that was saying that sometimes runcam has a problem with a piece of glass internally vibrating loose inside the lens and that creates the jello. He said he’s seen that problem before with runcam. Said he put a emax camera on it and no more jello- but the picture was worse.
Can anyone explain why it's called SmartAudio? I've heard some stuff about it but as far as I know it's all to do with vtx settings and not audio at all
It is sending information over an audio port. Like sending code with a microphone. Not really used for audio anymore but that's how it started and name stuck. Camera/vtx had audio and no data. Now have both.
lipo slippage is already solved! the frame has two notches on both sides, to hook a rubber band into. the one reason to upgrade the betaflight version, is to get more power out of the Vtx. but the the onboard Rx becomes the weakest part
Id say 19000 unless you plan to also fly in a bigger space. You can always put a throttle limit on I suppose if you want the best of both worlds. Technically higher kv version should be lighter .... Less windings on the motors
@@AndyRCchannel Thanks Andy. Love your channel and service for our community. Really appreciate your thoroughness, balanced opinion, and attention to details...

advise need : im gone fly in a sport hall but still don't know 19 or 25kv ... the flight time + voltage sage + yellow + fast cornering/maneuver compared, what is the best choice ?? ( i really dislike the heavy yellow in other revieuws damm because in the summer i fly it everywhere) (and the 25 k like 5amp hover and 19k 4 amp hover , 25k has immediate voltage sage from 4 to 3.5 and lowering , the 19 k does a bit better) ? i have a bunch older batterys and am willing to get some new one i think 350 mah uruav gr
I wish i could give everyone one :( sorry you didnt win rogue factor. Hopefully when this horrible situation starts to recover ill be able to do a lot more give aways
it depends on what you define as better. the mobula 7 is 75mm so it cant get into gaps as small as the 65mm whoops. it has an old cmos cam that doesnt have the more expensive tech in it so the video quality and dynamic range is no where near on par. But its hard to say its better because for me the mobula7 is more of an outdoor model and this more of an indoor model. So they both have areas where one does better than the other
Can't wait to get mine! I ordered it on Feb 16, Banggood says it's been shipped and it's on the way even though the shipping info hasn't updated since Feb 20th, Dalmit Coronavirus!!!

thank you for the video, it is an excellent model .. (but on the other hand it is fragile in terms of electronic components .. and the motors). but otherwise it is really good, and your video says it well, it's true that 'it flies well in 1S. another thing: it is the rrsi which is average outside .. I made the modification of the antenna with a 2.4g antenna with a cut the ufl and soldered instead of the antenna original which is not at the right length !!!! so with the modification, it's ok it goes further than the video, so perfect whereas before I had failsaife on failsafe before the modification .. ( thank's to "albert kim" video) I also had a friend print a canopy in 3D nylon print, and since no more "Jello"! and just 0.2g more. and the camera is lower, the characteristics are even better .. and the batteries are solid !! I would have liked the won, (to be honest) because mine is old and worn .. good camera too./

well. It gets my approval :)
Love whooping.. But mine is lost 😭
I’m heading off to college in the next few months. Anyone know if small whoops/medium sized quads are allowed on campus? (Of course im talking about low populated large areas, not the middle of campus haha). I’d love to get into the hobby but I’ve always been on a rough end for money so I can only really afford the cheapest decent stuff for a beginner like me. Thank you as always for the content.
Russell Phelan Awesome, thank you for the response. I’m looking into buying some used equipment and either building my own mini quad or buying one that’s on a crazy cheap sale. Regardless, 200$ is still a lot of money though and I’ve been having to spend some money on basic commodities because of this coronavirus outbreak shutting down schools!
advise need : im gone fly in a sport hall but still don't know 19 or 25kv ... the flight time + voltage sage + yellow + fast cornering/maneuver compared, what is the best choice ??
( i really dislike the heavy yellow in other revieuws damm because in the summer i fly it everywhere) (and the 25 k like 5amp hover and 19k 4 amp hover , 25k has immediate voltage sage from 4 to 3.5 and lowering , the 19 k does a bit better) ? i have a bunch older batterys and am willing to get some new one i think 350 mah uruav gr
Will you flash project mocking bird cli dump.if so will u do a video on it plz and thanks #TEAMANDYRC
yeah it's been around for a while somebody even won a model in a giveaway recently. hard to recall since i'm usually 1st place loser
I wish i could give everyone one :( sorry you didnt win rogue factor. Hopefully when this horrible situation starts to recover ill be able to do a lot more give aways
Exualy I like the eachine trashcan MUCH more
Isn't the mobula 7better? (I didn't watch the vid yet) And aren't like the betafpv 85 pro better/stronger???
it depends on what you define as better. the mobula 7 is 75mm so it cant get into gaps as small as the 65mm whoops. it has an old cmos cam that doesnt have the more expensive tech in it so the video quality and dynamic range is no where near on par. But its hard to say its better because for me the mobula7 is more of an outdoor model and this more of an indoor model. So they both have areas where one does better than the other
Dang it. Just bought a 7
the 7 is great... just better for outdoors than indoors
@@AndyRCchannel I guess, oh well. Will you do another or first review of the mobula 7 soon?
@@Kyo-bd4tw I already have one here. Cheers: th-cam.com/video/l53FAuPP4Bs/w-d-xo.html
Can't wait to get mine! I ordered it on Feb 16, Banggood says it's been shipped and it's on the way even though the shipping info hasn't updated since Feb 20th, Dalmit Coronavirus!!!
yeah its frustraiting but cant be helped. well done for not cancelling the order otherwise they will stop making them :( saldy a lot of people have done this
I think everyone is sick over there, my Hawkeye Little Pilot 4 FPV monitor order has been canceled 3 times.
I I prefer tiny hawk 2 push design great for under cars and such..
only good if it works
thank you for the video, it is an excellent model ..
