I was lucky enough to watch the unedited one a few days back I really like it was different and shows the effort that’s going in to making this version through another unedited up in a month or so they are great love the channel keep it up Liam 👏
I love how Dave the Pro keeps it simple and easy to try out. And of course, he's 100% right that you have to practise what you get shown to you in a lesson. He's a top pro and bloke Cheers from #500
I like the tip of re gripping for each shot to get the feeling of putting the hands on the club correctly and becoming habit. Second drill would certainly help me too. Definitely gonna work on that one, cheers Dave. Another quality video Liam. 👍👍
Used both of these drills during a range session yesterday and all I can say is thankyou Dave, I'm going the centre of the club again and hitting with a lovely draw shape. Happy days 🤗🤗🤗
One of the best tips I ever heard.. for your lead hand grip pick the club up and hold it like an umbrella. Plonk it down and right hand on like holding a kitchen knife to cut sideways. Takes all the faff out of sorting your hands out. Anyhoo, whatever works.. ! 😊
Brilliant from dave 1st thing he said to me on my 1st lesson was "do you practice" i said "no" is answer was "then you might as well not bother with lessons if your not gona practice what I show you" and ive practiced every drill he's shown me religiously since that 1st lesson, great pro great coach.👍
I had a 2 hrs lesson with Dave a couple of years ago, it went great,I was off 6 at the time and dropped to 4 after 3 months of making the changes Dave suggested. He's a great teaching pro, best I've been to. I'd really love to get back to see him again soon too. Stick with what he teaches you Liam, it will make you a better player 😆☺😊
I still have a 3 month MOT with my pro and we work through the bag. Being filmed and having immediate feedback so I can see where those bad habits have developed helps me. 💯 agree about that grip....keep working and keep showing these lessons as Dave works with you👏🏻⛳️🏌🏻👍🏻
More Dave please 🙏 I've only just committed to trying to improve after years of hacking. All I want to do this year is break that 💯. Blind as a bat, overweight but we're fighting 👍. Keep up the great work Liam.
Dave is so right. I have been meaning to email you Liam with a "tip", but Dave has hit the nail on the head. I was the one who predicted the correct score when you played so well at West Lancs. Your game was better then because you were turning better. The take away has become too rigid and straight meaning you never get to the top of your back swing and wait. This ruins the tempo. What Dave has told you will allow you to break your wrists earlier, get more tempo, and give yourself more time. Love it ! Good Luck
I just watched the video of you hitting the calloway ball with the lines on it. And you are getting through the ball. Keep working on turning getting through and you will fix your slice. Good on ya Liam..
Dave is a very good teaching pro, easy to understand and easy to follow, thanks Dave and thanks Liam, now keep that left hand in the right place Liam 😉
Yeah, Dave hit the nail on the head. The last four or so month's it has been divot left ball goes into the trees right. Good thing the OB is mostly on the left side of most golf courses.
Loving this video Liam. I had my first lesson after I started playing golf a year ago and the pro I used was almost exactly like Dave in terms of how he was showing me to set up to the ball and hold the club. I suffer from an over the top swing and a slice and the grip change has made me draw the ball naturally now and my over the top swing is on its way to disappearing hopefully. See you in Portugal mate 👍🏻
never had a lesson but always try new tips doing well with this and gone from a 28 handicap to a 20 handicap no small thanks to your tips keep them comming so i can get to my target of 18 thanks to golf mates
Thanks Dave grade stuff .Liam i went to a PGA Pro for lessons, i drop from 14handicap to 6handicap ,but after lessons lots of practice, for 6 months every day i hit about 100 balls a day at drivingrange.
I know I'm commenting late, but I have to tell you golfmates, that Dave's instruction about Liam's grip, I tried it on the range then on the course today, and truth be told, I was hitting the ball the best I ever have for the whole round. Dave and Liam, thank you, I can't wait until the weekend again.
I worked my butt off using lessons from local pro. I didn't improve. It wasn't until I watched lessons from Shawn Clement here on TH-cam that I actually was able to fix some faults in my swing. Shawn Clement's lessons opened my eyes. SO, you can work hard on what a pro teaches you but it may not be the right fix. It has to be something that makes sense to you and for me, Shawn Clement's teachings made sense.
You have a new star on the channel Liam! Great tips from Dave, he really does know his stuff. The hard part us keeping these tips in mind every time you go to take a shot. At the end of the day it's down to the golfer to hit the shot, that's the hard part of golf😀
Liam, Dave is right, the grip is key. If you watch your video, your grip never gets to where it should be. You revert back to the V pointing right of your sternum. The reason you come over it is to compensate for the open clubface cause by the weak left hand. Work on getting the grip right. Also, the V’s of the right and left hand should be parallel, so that the hands work together during hinging and release.
Hi Liam I have just started playing Golf, and all your videos are truly inspirational ,I really love the vids with Dave ,he explains things in a way that is easy to understand,is there a way you can group them together on your home page ? ,for me they are gold ,and i like to keep going back to them for reference cheers from New zealand
Great video one of the hardest things I have to do stick to my lessons my game went so far back before it improved brilliant advice and stick with it nice one lads 👍👍
Liam. I’ve seen Peter Finch do that exaggerated practice move before many of his shots. I was wondering what in the heck is he doing. Now i know! Great video.
Thanks, Liam for getting Dave to do these videos, and , thanks Dave for doing these videos. Hopefully Liam will soon stop telling himself he is having trouble hitting his irons.
Great video as always and great tips from Dave , Had few lessons last year with my local pro Defiantly Improved my game 100% so well worth having lessons ‘ but as Dave said you have to put the practice in after: to keep it going ⛳️⛳️
Great to see you working on your swing Liam! One word of advice tho that I leant the hard way... do not try and work on these things on the course... Purely for range work Only. As soon as you step into the first tee no matter where you are in that work you have to be into the target and not letting your conscious mind control the swing, for example you don't try and kick a football and think "If I pull my right leg back 75 degrees into this position, have my body at a 45 degree angle" ect ect.... You just look at the football and the target and kick.... should be the same on the course.
Now I know everyone has an opinion and a choice but I honestly can’t understand why these great videos get 👎🏼 hits? It’s very strange. Keep up the great content Liam, very informative from Dave.
A few years ago I paid for 5 lessons with a pro in Tenby and the only thing I kept from the lessons was the grip Dave has shown you, stick with that grip it will make a difference Liam.
I attended a clinic by Jack Nicklaus a few weeks before the 82 US Open (where he lost to Tom Watson's famous chip-in at Pebble Beach). He was in West Michigan for a one-day charity event. His ball striking and accuracy were unbelievable but one thing he emphasized was the importance of having the left hand on the grip in a position which is natural to you. He said the way you achieve this is to stand normally with your arms hanging down normally at your left and right side. Then with a club at your left side resting on the ground, let your left hand, as it hangs normally to your left side, grip the club at the angle that your hand hangs naturally at your side. Once you grip the club with the left hand this way (at your side) you can then be assured that this is the correct position. Everyone has some degree of inward angle of their hands as they hang naturally at their side. When I do this and then bring the club in front of me and look down at address in my normal set-up, I see two knuckles. Some see two and a half or even three. Every person is somewhat different. But it follows Dave's advice as well as feeling more natural.
Liam I was watching one of your early vlogs the other week with Rick Shields where he gave you the same advise about your hand so I'm pleased that Dave has noticed the same. We could all do with taking Dave's advise in respect to doing more work on the drills we are giving! It's hard work this golf lark 😂😂
Oh fella, i’m all enthused! Enjoyed that lesson and we do see it constantly at the range people (including me) just smash ball after ball. We don’t move! It’s like a belt fed machine gun, one after another. We all need reminding to do just what Dave highlighted, move away from the ball and set up again. Like the glove tip, just marked mine... good luck fella and as much as I love watching your videos try to find some time to play golf again, we’ll wait!
Great lesson from Dave, I wish I had a tenner for every time I have said to the guys at my club go and have a lesson as I have to watch them hack their way around the course.
Thanks for sharing your lesson with us Liam. Sure it’s uncomfortable putting yourself out like that, and we are getting great advice for free. Videoing your lesson must be a much different feeling for you than doing your regular vlogs. Thanks again
Can i ask a question? As this is something im going to personally work on, would dave say "the wall" drill in the vid is or isnt suited to a driver on the back backswing? Does that make sense? Its only as we know it should be a be a little more of a basball style swing. Ill take any tips me, i may be addicted see 😃
I struggle wher3 my left hand goes on my set up but thars down to the stroke i suffered 14 year ago,its to to ge5 a good grip but i get there in the end,Daves avreal easy guy to learn from mind
Great lesson good you know it's not a quick fix it takes the pros a year to make swing change become natural so how much more for us. But keep at it Liam I know from experience one day one shot it will just click and become normal
"If you went for a run tonight, you're not going to be fit tomorrow." Great analogy, Dave. Fitness and golf take time and effort.
I was lucky enough to watch the unedited one a few days back I really like it was different and shows the effort that’s going in to making this version through another unedited up in a month or so they are great love the channel keep it up Liam 👏
totally agree . no divot left upside down. Good brick work
I love how Dave the Pro keeps it simple and easy to try out.

What a difference Dave has made to the channel, he changed your grip a bit and it stopped you talking too much. But well done Liam a super film.
Stick with it Liam! I have the same grip problem at times and have to remember to check the grip on every shot now. It does work
Yeah, Dave hit the nail on the head. The last four or so month's it has been divot left ball goes into the trees right. Good thing the OB is mostly on the left side of most golf courses.
Content is great Liam, Dave is adding a new dimension to the channel 👍 Great couple of drills, keep them coming.

Feel like I've seen this already 😂😂 Dave is the man , definitely a good coach to spot your faults and good drills to help 👍
Dave really knows what he is talking about. I like his explanations and his way to keep things simple. I really did enjoy this video.
Great lesson from top bloke Dave. I am on it, but you have to put in the work. One of your best videos to teach what it takes in order to improve.
I watched the original, but this was much better edited. Thanks both of you.
Liam you are hitting the target on the course and on the channel. Great video. thank you.
Im having exactly the same problem, over the top and way to steep. Let's smash it in time for the season liam 💪🏼
Golf is the most humbling game, but stick with what Dave says and you will soon be back on track. Good luck.
Thanks Dave grade stuff .Liam i went to a PGA Pro for lessons, i drop from 14handicap to 6handicap ,but after lessons lots of practice, for 6 months every day i hit about 100 balls a day at drivingrange.
Thank you DAVE , great instruction ; to know ones' swing it is like to know oneself . CHEERS .
I can really relate to that and I agree, the enemy is time and memory,if you have both of those and practise the right drills happy days
Absolutely superb video! Brilliant tips from Dave the master of all things golf! Definitely going to try this and keep trying it, thanks golf mates 👍
I liked the unedited version when Dave asked is that your old grip or new
Excellent video. What is the function of the towel across the chest? Is it to stop your right shoulder moving forward away from your body?
Brilliant tips from Dave as always. So simple yet so effective. Well done both and hope it’s still working for you liam!
I know I'm commenting late, but I have to tell you golfmates, that Dave's instruction about Liam's grip, I tried it on the range then on the course today, and truth be told, I was hitting the ball the best I ever have for the whole round. Dave definitely knows his stuff!
I don't wear a glove so I've booked in to get my 3 knuckles tattooed
Great 💡 😂😂😂
Mike Owen not as daft as it sounds lol
I recently made the same grip change. Straight away the club path has improved and the contact just feels better.
Dave's Tips really helped Me was in a massive hole and was lost. Hittin um heaps better now Cheers :))
Great lesson! I must use this during practice. Cheers!!!
Liam, when ever I putt on greens with that much dew I always give myself a par! Even with three putts!😂⛳️
Stick to what Dave says bud. His Friday tips have helped a lot of us!! 👍👍

Great vlog Liam! This is exactly what my PGA Pro and I work on with coming more inside! Keep practicing buddy!
Exact advice my pro gave me. Such a grind dialling it in but so worth it.
Great lesson keep going Liam , my golf pro sends me pictures and video after the lesson to look back on fantastic help 🏌🏻♂️
Totally using that wall concept during tomorrow's practice session at the range!
This is a great video, given me a few tips to practice at the range!
It all takes time. Dave’s face after ball 3 was a picture. The knuckle tip was the first thing I got last year.
Great video Liam, hope the practice pays off
I haven't finished the video yet, but for me, yes. Lessons helped me quite a bit, add the proper course management and scores get lower.
Liam I was watching one of your early vlogs the other week with Rick Shields where he gave you the same advise about your hand so I'm pleased that Dave has noticed the same. Great video Liam and dave some great tips Dave is spot on if you watch justin rose on the tee his practice swing is exactly how dave describes it
Great video Liam and Dave 👍👍👍👍
Great lesson, we need more from dave
I was watching this thinking, "why is this so familiar?" Enjoyed it for the second time. Cheers Liam.
Loving the content from from you guys . Hope to start having lessons in the the next few months

Great video lads. Just need Mr.Barlow to teach you the scoopy woopy now and you'll have your A game back lol. Cheers lads, great stuff.
Dave Da Save!!
Great videos no harm watching it twice lol!!!
I agree with Dave when I’m having a lesson it works fine and then don’t put the work in then wonder why keep the videos coming mate
That’s brilliant couching Dave pal.👍❤️
Well done Liam, great stuff Dave 👍
Love daves tips cracking content yet again Liam love it mate #golfmates
Great lesson from Dave, I wish I had a tenner for every time I have said to the guys at my club go and have a lesson as I have to watch them hack their way around the course.

Hey Dave, wish you were on the trip to 🇵🇹! Great advice about grip and practice!
Can i ask a question? As this is something im going to personally work on, would dave say "the wall" drill in the vid is or isnt suited to a driver on the back backswing? Does that make sense? Its only as we know it should be a be a little more of a basball style swing. Ill take any tips me, i may be addicted see 😃
Love Dave, so down to earth and a swing Pete Finch would be jealous of
In fairness Peter's swing is quite a personalised one, especially at the start of his takeaway.
Loving all your videos keep the coming
Good second drill, definitely trying that too! #GOLFMATES
Great video, very informative and useful!
Great tips by Dave!
"You know it makes sense Rodney" !! 🤣
In my opinion, lessons should be for beginners only. After you’ve been playing a few years, a lesson is just going to foul you up.
I struggle wher3 my left hand goes on my set up but thars down to the stroke i suffered 14 year ago,its to to ge5 a good grip but i get there in the end,Daves avreal easy guy to learn from mind
Liam,,,you Look like you got younger in this video,,,,😎
Great lesson good you know it's not a quick fix it takes the pros a year to make swing change become natural so how much more for us. But keep at it Liam I know from experience one day one shot it will just click and become normal
Cheers Liam and Big Dave!
Proud to be a GOLFMATE,,,,😎 Thumbs up if you are,,,,😎
sounded like the compression was much improved on first shot. swing speed appeared significantly faster also.
Great work guys 👌👌
happy new year to u mate weare half of the year gone
Great tips from Dave there........... is farmer Giles cutting wood in the background again??🤔
I live in the wrong climate! Going to be at least month before I can swing clubs. But at least I can watch you mates.
Implementating what you learn on a lesson is so hard once you're away from the lesson. This is why we need regular lessons plus plenty of practice! 🙈
Great lesson
Hi Liam and dave another great video drill is very useful been trying trying the towel across chest hard work 😓 what’s name of the song on videos ✌️
Cheers steffan
Ive been trying Ur lesson. At
My local range liam tell Dave
I'll keep doing it thanks
