  • This lens is great, I love this lens. Since I got it, I always carry it with me everywhere I go. It's the lens that covers most scenarios, good for portraits, travelling, street photography and more. It's light, small, well built, looks good, although there's a small issue that I mention in the video.

    Last time I went to that shop in London I almost got a GFX and a divorce 😅

    Nice lens choice. I myself use a Pentax 40mm Pancake on a Speedbooster. Also worth a try I must admit

      Nice, I think we have the same lens haha! I have a very old Pentax 40mm f/2.8 pancake lens. I'm using it with an adapter. Unfortunately the lens has some fungus inside. I'm planning to clean it in a future video. It's a beautiful lens!

    I have one, as well as 10 other lenses. I use the 27 mm f/2.8 more than any of the others.

      yeah so far since I got it, I'm using it more than any other lens! I might sell some :D

    Hi,it gives me the same experience. Great for the street, I use it together with the 18mm 1.4 a rather big lens. I hope to acquire the xt50 so it will be even more compact then now with the xt5. Would be a perfect combination for weddings etc.

    • @pietrozuco

      That's a good idea, with the XT50 it would be similar to have a X100VI

    I had the original back in the X-Pro 1 days, has same optics as the new WR version.... I really didn't like it
    Back then I had the 18mm F/2, 27mm F/2.8, 35mm F/1.4, and 60mm F/2.4
    the 27mm was always so close to the 35mm and worse in everyway for me, so it never got used.
    fast forward 10 years, I still use the 35mm F/1.4 (granted not on an X-Pro 1) however my 2 go to lenses are the 23mm or the 56mm.
    Pleased you are enjoying that lens :)

      Thanks for sharing. That's a nice selection of lenses you have there.
      So far I'm still enjoying it, but I'm still new to this lens, time will tell. I had the 35mm f/2 and it was really nice, I would love to get the 35mm f/1.4 you mentioned. A bit bigger than the pancake but I think it's worth it. The 56mm is in my list! :)

      @@pietrozuco The 35mm F/1.4 has flaws, but to quote me and everyone else, it is special :)
      I preferred the Sigma 56mm to the original fuji 56mm and am really happy with it. The New Fuji is great, but it is not £500 better than the sigma, the sigma is 95% there in my opinion for half the cost.
      If you get the chance to test them, I'd recommend it

    Have original one but the only problem is if,when focus motor dies,its really a paperweight due to cost to fux.
    Otherwise it is fantastic and is glued to one of my caneras.

    I used to have 27 mm first generation and sold it. It was kind of slow, noisy and nothing special in the sense of image rendering... Got me 18mm f2 instead and it was much more fun to use it! Though 28mm eq is rather too wide for me still it was more joy to use it comparing to 27mm. I think that the ideal AF street lens for FX is yet to be produced! If not Fuji I wish 7artisans or TTartisan will make it! Something like 25-27 mm f2 with relatively good AF and maybe water-proofed .. and not bigger than Fuji's 18mm f2 lens in size! Something like X100VI has or little longer, around 25mm and detachable! lol

    • @pietrozuco

      That would be ideal. I tried the TTArtisans 25mm, MF thought, and it was great, but then decided to get the 27mm, atm I'm having more fun with it. I'm not sure about the 18mm though, a bit too wide for street photography I guess, but I can imagine it's ideal for travelling and capturing a bit of everything. I would love to see some 7Artisans or TTArtisans to make some AF lenses for FX!

      @@pietrozuco Yes 25mm from TTartisan has good reputation, yet I'd love it being AF! TTartisan've done it already with 27mm f2,8 - it IS AF lens it is just a little bigger that Fuji's 27 and some saying the image has more character than original Fuji but it is not technically perfect (what is? lol) and not WR. And it is still 2,8.

      Interesting no idea they started. That's good news. I have a Viltrox 13mm and the AF is great on it. I hope the other ones catchup and start offering AF soon

Bellissima lente, tutta in metallo.
