Just got into modern rc about a week ago lol. I have a slash 4x4 and it's stupid fun. I see now that the big trucks obviously shine off road so maybe that's what I'll get next.
Ok, you won me over, I had to Subscribed and hit the bell. I think the slash was a bit faster. But, you can't beat the XMAXX for all around fun and durability. It's pricy, but you get what you pay for. Best RC truck out there. People, if you want the best right off the bat, then get the XMAXX. The others are also fun in their own way, but the XMAXX is the top of the line. I have the Rustler 4X4 VXL, MAXX, E-Revo 2.0, XMAXX, and the TRX 4X4 Crawler. Can't wait for the snow to get here. Just bought my granddaughter a pink Rustler 4X4 VXL for Christmas.
If that slash was running the Traxxas green springs with the soft sway bars it would've done a little better in the rough stuff. I used to run those springs on mine with the shocks set to the inner holes and it was like watching a UDR almost. It just soaked up everything! But it liked to slide around ALLOT with that setup. On pavement loads of sliding and rollovers lol unless I moved the shocks to the outer holes.
Something from my experience: I have a slash 4x4 vxl, rustler 4x4 vxl, and an erevo 2.0. The rustler and the slash are better for beginners because if you crash they almost never break. On the other hand the erevo is way faster and when you crash you are almost guaranteed to break something. So if someone is just starting off I recommend the rustler or slash.
On road its slash 4x4 hands down, offroad its slash again if it finds a good line , Xmaxx only wins if slash gets bad line , then it's also a battery hog , 2 batteries vs one per run time, double charge time, double battery care, double battery fires, ect, risk, double lipo storage mode care after running
Looks like the slash wins on asphalt where it can hook up, In the dirt the slash is kind of light and bounces around and doesn't get traction. But good races!!!👍👍
Slash easy win on the road, lighter, gearing for a short course truck, that was to to be expected. However, bringing the slash on the dirt that had a lot of rocks on it brought it out is disadvantage for being a short course truck. I would have expected X-maxx to walk all over the slash on that terrain. No offense, but X-maxx needs a driver mod. GG slash driver.
It's funny when people buy these huge monster 8s trucks just to get beat by a little 3s. Totally different styles obviously lol but it's great to see that little slash just rocket along with the Xmaxxx.
Both are awesome both are fast, but truck a lot more money then the slash wanted to get the truck but after looking at the slash for the money is super fast, good video 👍🏻
This was awesome, definitely a big difference in weight (I imagine?) so the Xmaxx is probably at a disadvantage despite the higher voltage and motor? Either way this is awesome. Love the 3D gopro as well, it’s cool to see the race from the “driver’s perspective”

@@FortekNine appreciate what you say, what's the weight difference between them? Is the max 4 times as heavy or something? Based on this video I want the small one! apart from running on rocks half the size of the tyres, it did amazingly well. Although it has to be said the camera work made both of them look exceptional! How do you get the xmaxx to launch that well? My xmaxx will come up completely on the wheelie bar anytime I take off from a dig, I have never got it to launch anything close to this good.

Once you’re off road it’s a comparison of suspension (including tire size). X Maxx has the advantage there.
Xmaxx floats like a caddy when it goes offroad. I was suprised the slash was holding up.

I have one of the slash 4x4 cars. 1/16 with the velineon motor and 55/31 gearing. On a 2s lipo it still flys. 3s you need extra parts. Good video.

On 3s it can do 45 mph stock gearing 60 on the optional gearing it comes with its just lighter then the xmaxx so its faster
Both are insane but Slash is by far the more stable traxxas car.

How can I increase the speed of my stock Slash 2wd further? I'm running it with a 2S LiPo battery.
Mess around with the gearing but careful not to burn up the motor or esc.

If your not afraid to cut the body Maybe cut slits in the body in the back so air doesn't get caught up inside the body creating a parachute 😊

Launching is hard but with practice you will get it down, usually I tap about 10% throttle then squeeze to 100%. Kinda hard to explain it

You have to slowly throttle the xmaxx because it will just flip it self. Slash is full throttle from start.

The 1st few runs doe the little 1-just kept smokin the big 1.
