Sonata Arctica is all about the story telling. Many of their songs are from the monster’s perspective

"She should not lock the open door" she locked herself with him to make love with and end the curse, the narrator is telling that the wisest thing was to had just runaway instead, that was always my view on that line at least

This is my favourite band I 🖤 all of them are humble and down to earth as hell.
Incredible band! Glad Helge introduced them to me. I put a bunch of songs i reacted to on my playlist for my roadtrip.
Storywise, this song can be a little confusing at first glance.
One interpretation is that he is a werewolf who runs away from his woman to avoid killing her, but she follows him wanting to get laid ("We've gotta make the love complete tonight"), so she gets killed when she locks herself in the house with him instead of running like hell and/or leave the door open for him to get out as soon as he tansforms.
You can interpretate the whole thing as a metaphor as well, so basically he's a man with emotional "monsters" that looks for a place to hide from them so she won't see him like this, but she insists on seeing that side of him and finds his emotional wreck.

'Should not lock the open door' kind of sounded not seeing danger in situation when you're standing too close to it, or maybe being drawn to deep into relationship and being blind to things that are going wrong. Just an interpretation though
