- Lucy can't win vs Jackal and ends up breaking the celestial key from Aquarius to be able to summon the Celestial Spirit King. So Aquarius is sacrificed in order to summon him. One of the saddest moments in the story :(

You can say what you want about Lucy, but her voice actress NAILED this. I always get teary eyed during this scene

Why is this so much better than the actual fight in the manga and anime??!!! This fight TOTALLY recognizes her true potential and shows off her power better than anything I've really seen so far!!!
I wouldn't say that. In the manga/anime. They had to build up the drama. Will the underdog be able to overcome odds of this size though she has never overcome a challenge of that level. The manga does do Lucy dirty a lot of the time especially after this fight (even before with Raven tail) her power scaling is inconsistent. Example being shes shown to have a ton of magic power, but to keep her as the underdog its often cut, or shown to be less than feats that she shown in previous arcs. Example when she rescued Loki.
its definitely not, the scream lucy did in the anime when breaking the key is unbeatable
The only thing the game does differently is it has the final spat being an actual fight instead of Lucy getting Aquarius' power and immediately using Urano Metria. She gets a moment of awesome before bringing it to an end in game. Not that I consider it better than the manga and anime but it was a neat change

Omg lucy is amazing.. her power is very broad and flexible.. she can use sand magic, water magic, light based magic, a shooter, summoning CSK, swords ability, mix star dress. Urano metria,copy magic. Etc
In this game.. she even can protect her spirits by using water barrier.
I don't be surprised if she can surpass OP characters in fairy tail.. she has potential tho
Yeah she's had amazing growth since the start of the story! First she could only rely on the power of her spirits and now she's a powerhouse herself :D
Sadly , the series doesn’t prioritise of fully show the potentials of her powers .. like they could have at least made her win that match against the red hair girl during the magic games

they cut out the fact that only a spirit wizard who could keep 3 zodiac gates open simultaneously has the power to summon the king

Lucy is actually more powerful in terms of magic .. but Physically Juvia is stronger

The only thing that bothers me is that Lucy has ponytails. I don’t hate it but it will look better if she had her final season outfit.
Yeah, she looks better with her hair longer and that side ponytail style. Plus, that outfit look amazing on her. Very fitting. Looks similar to Natsu's in fact

As much as this scene is superb, I still have issues with the literal “breaking of the key”. There are other ways that wouldn’t get Aquarius out of trouble for everything she put Lucy through and still save the day. It’s the one flaw I personally find in this otherwise amazing scene!
Tbh I would have loved if the new game scene where Star Dress Lucy fights along with Loke and Virgo was how it actually went (except longer obviously). That would have been a hella cool fight to watch, like how Lucy protected them from Jackal's explosion with water shields.

Yeah definitely agree. Ngl with seeing how the other fights are in this game I was already happy that Lucy's fight got a special cutscene, Mira vs Seliah didn't have that which kind of made it a lot less impactful

I remembered that in the manga and anime version; Leo and Virgo got EASILY TAKEN DOWN by Jackal while in this video game Lucy MANAGED TO USE THE MAGIC BARRIERS SHIELD THEM AND THEY ALSO MANAGED TO WEAKEN JACKAL. Moreover; in the manga and anime version, I remembered that Gemini DIDN'T participated in this battle. Yeah pretty much! Although I have to say that the manga/anime cover things in way more detail. During the story arcs in the game quite a bit of dialogue and some fights with side-characters were skipped.
Thanks for posting this! I was having some significant lagging FPS drops on the steam version and this scene was so choppy and unviewable I couldn't watch this. My entire playthrough was fine until this cutscene, where it was 15 fps throughout, unreal, haha.

@@Swrinny thank you! Yeah its a known issue on the Steam version right now. Koei is hoping to get a fix out soon. It was really weird because the Ezra fight was phenomenally smooth! Idk what happen with this scene, haha. Celestial king summoning was too OP I guess 🤣

I really love the animation of the game but the battle mode is like a pokemon battle where we wait for each player turn before casting skills it would be better if we can cast it with pure skills

The reasons why today’s Anime games don’t have English voices because Bandai dropped out the R1 anime distribution industry years ago, which is where they pulled in most of their voices for the video games division. Today they only dub the games that are expected to pull in a large amount of profit like anything from the Tales franchise.
For as much crap as Aquarius gives her, it’s good to know that deep down they both did love each other, personally I thought it was because Aquarius had a lot of respect for Lucy’s mother and felt that Lucy wasn’t living up to that standard.

I've wanted to know for awhile but how come Lucy was the only one not trapped while everyone else was?
Mard Geer stated it was a 1 in a million chance, so it feels like plot armor. But there are some theories going around that it could have something to do with her celestial magic, magic resistances or Horoglium haven defended her.
I never uderstood why Lucy considered Aquarius her friend when she's so damn catty...
Lucy grew up really lonely in the household and as her first spirit, Aquarius was the only one accompanying her at the time. Despite the catty attitude she really cares for Lucy, even back when she was younger
I just got to this fight and when I tried to use aqua metria the animation didnt play and now for some reason, non of the fight animations for any character's moves will show when I'm in battle. It just says that are attacked. Is anyone else having this problem?
It sounds like you might've toggled your battle animations off. During battle, look at the bottom-right side of your screen for the buttons. On the PS4 this is the R3 button. By turning them on the animations should start playing again.

She's not dead, Lucy can't summon her anymore that is all. But on Fairy Tail 100 Year Quest, Lucy finds out there's a second key and wants to find Aquarius again. That will be in the new Fairy Tail anime

When the game was announced I was full of joy and happiness because I thought this game will be like a Naruto game but then it disappointed me
That'd be the dream, but for now this is the best we get. You might already know this - but the upcoming Demon Slayer game is made by the same developers that created the Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm Games. It's gonna be hype :D

Yes! My only complaint is that the story is short. The gameplay is traditional turn based rpg with a tweak.

Unfortunately, the impact of the scene is damaged by the fact that Aquarius was a bitch to Lucy most of the time, even abandoning her during the battle with Minerva; so her sudden caring for Lucy NOW comes across as suddenly changing the cards on the table.
And Lucy's reaction makes her look like a doormat.
Aquarius saves her life in the last season though.

She need to use two times of her power in order to launch Urano Metria, thats why she summoned Gemini and turn into herself.
