I really enjoyed this idea. Christmas morning is so active that something you can do ahead is a real "gift." Thanks Beth for making the holidays so wonderful and may I say "Easy!"
Wish you and yours a Merry Christmas and a Happy 2019. One of the best things in 2018 was stumbling upon this channel. So thank you . Here’s looking forward to more lively and lovely videos in the new year!
Dear Beth, thank you for this delicious recipe. Thank you for being part of our life in this year that is ending. Wishing you and your lovely family a very Merry Christmas! 🌲🎉💖
This is my go-to breakfast bake for any morning. it's a hit in my house. Love it! Thanks for sharing Beth. It is soooo delicious and comforting. Oh, and I add a tsp of dijon mustard.
Hi Beth, This was a great dish for the day after Thanksgiving - my family came down to a lovely breakfast bake this morning. And all thanks to you, Beth! Happy holidays!
Hi Beth, (LOVE you!). I have made these just as your recipe states and they are incredible. I am making them this weekend as a breakfast gift since we are staying over night at friend's house. I am going to 'try' and make them replicate a lox bagel sandwich. I will use smoked salmon, capers, finely diced red onion and sprinkle trader joes everything bagel on top. I'll serve it also with sliced fresh tomatoes along side. I can't wait to let you know how they come out :)
This looks so delicious!!! I'm gonna try this for sure! I love your ability to make food look elegant all the while being easy to make! Thank you Beth for all your wonderful recipes this year! Have a Merry Christmas! Lots of love to you and your family xox
Awe so glad you found me! WELCOME To the community :) Yes this is really a great one for Christmas morning, so easy and SO good! Wishing you a very Merry Christmas too! :) See you in the new year with some yummy healthy recipes to start the year!
Looks delicious! Quite similar to your make ahead breakfast cups you posted during back to school.. I made thosr and they were amazing! Happy Holidays!
Thanks sooo much for this one! Definitely going to try it soon! And always appreciate that you always give an alcohol substitute! Happy holidays! Wishing you a safe and happy festive season and looking forward to a prosperous and yummy filled 2019! 😄🌌🎉
❤💚❤MERRY CHRISTMAS BETH!❤💚❤ Oooohhhh my goodness! The amount of control necessary when making your recipes is incredible!😅😆🤗 Soooo worth it! My grocery list is ready and I'm definitely making these for Christmas morning along with two cinnamon buns! Can you say, DEEEETOX! 😅😅😅 Thank you for sharing! 😍🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗
LOL! Oh I promise I'll have some healthy recipes in January! A really great Chicken Chili is on it's way! :) So let's live it up now! Ha! Happy Everything! :)
Oh Beth! I wish I was having a wonderful Christmas but unfortunately I caught a cold! I’m in punta Cana for the week and I’m supposed to be enjoying the warmth and sun but it’s been hard because of this stupid cold! Anyway, happy holidays to you and your family!!!!
YUMMY....really like this idea. I can think of many adaptations. Question: When I remove from the refrigerator, do I need to bring them up to room temperature before baking? Thank you and Merry Christmas to you and your family. just noting, jmo
Great question! I have found it isn't necessary to bring to room temp, I just pop them out of the fridge as is :) Hope you enjoy! A very Merry Christmas to you and your family too! :)
I will DEFINITELY be making this! But I have 2 questions: do I bring the ramekins up to room temp after removing from the fridge, and, if I choose to make it in a casserole dish, is the baking temp the same? Thanks, Beth!
Sure you could bring the ramekins out of the fridge to get to room temp while your oven pre-heats, and yes same oven temp and technique if you use a larger casserole :) Just be sure to grease the casserole as well with baking spray so you get nice clean slices otherwise the eggs and cheese are pretty sticky! :) Hope you enjoy!
You inspired my "little sous-chef" to make a sweet version of this ... we used pumpkin rustic loaf and eggnog instead of cheese... Added a little extra cinnamon, and BOOM.. New Christmas morning tradition... Ps it was Amazing!!...
hi Beth I've tried this recipe out but I think I need to make it again since it didnt turn out toooo well. still good but there was space to do it better. could you link the ramekins you are using here? I fell in love with the green of them!!
Hi Beth, In one of your videos you made oat & yogurt make ahead breakfast. You did it in glass cups with wood tops & gold spoons. Could you please tell me where you fot them. They are so cute. Love your recipes.
This was delicious. We used a 9x13" Pyrex, so the baking took quite a bit longer than the stated 35 minutes. I'd say it was probably closer to 50 minutes (since we put it back in a few times to make sure the egg was no longer liquid). I think the ramekins would also help with portion control, since everyone went back for more ;)
Hi Beth I'm in Australia, & Xmas is very hot here but I'm going to make these when the weather cools down they look so delicious Merry Xmas & happy New year
Yes these are better for your winter :) But here's a good make-ahead "summer breakfast recipe" that would be great for Christmas AM the raspberries make it so festive :) Hope you enjoy! Merry Christmas! th-cam.com/video/2iS2KT8WHpI/w-d-xo.html
Oh Beth...lol what about people wanting second helpings. I sure would although I don't eat ham. That looks scrumptious. As always greatttt! Have a very happy merry warm Christmas. I love Christmas..😃
LOL! I know right? You could always double the recipe and put it in a large casserole dish and that would certainly give you second helping! :) Have a wonderful Christmas as well! Happiest of everything for you and your family 2019!! xoxxo
Oh no! You guys have had quite a year of weather!! So glad you enjoyed the video though ha! We were having our own bit of weather the day I shot this, pouring rain! Not sure if you can tell but if you look closely in my on-cam parts you'll see all the rain drops! Great for the garden though and our poor drought-ridden California! :)
Awe YAY! I had the pleasure of visiting Spain (Barcelona, Madrid and Sevilla) years ago and just fell in love with the food, the people and all the amazing architecture! Such fun memories :)
Morning. New subscriber. No turning back. Luv yr channel. I know it’s been awhile but exactly what “rustic bread” did you use for this ham, leek and cheese breakfast bake? There are soooo many out there. Also any other suggestion for the type of cheese? thanks much…
I would love to make this for my sausage-loving husband... would I just switch the ham for cooked ground sausage? Do you think all the other ingredients would work?
Yes of course that would be great! Or you could do sausage, sautéed mushrooms, Italian Blend Cheese and fresh basil that would be a great combo too! :) Hope you enjoy!!
Aren't they festive? :) I found them on Amazon. The quality is really great. They are in my Amazon Shop: Here's the link! www.amazon.com/shop/entertainingwithbeth Enjoy!!

can we leave out the ham and replace it with another choice of veggies ?
Thank you 😊
Yes of course! Some fresh asparagus would be great with these too! Or some frozen peas would be nice as well :) Happy Holidays!!

what is the substitute of white wine...
Oh sure just add some more heavy cream, the same amount as the wine 3 tbsp. How you enjoy!!
Hello the Puerto Rico Island I love you
How do I find the written recipe?
Oh sure you can find it here: Enjoy! entertainingwithbeth.com/make-ahead-breakfast-bakes/
I love your videos, but we're a vegan family. I'm going to try "veganising" this by using chickpea flour+plant milk as the egg mixture, nutritional yeast for the cheesy flavour, mushrooms+olives instead of ham, with a little vegan cheese on top to melt. Wish me luck!
Oh yes! Good for you! That sounds like a great idea! Let me know how it goes! My brother is Vegan and I'm always looking for ways to Veganise my recipes for him too! Stay tuned in early January I have a really great Vegan Veggie Pot Pie you will LOVE! So good! And easy too!
Total failure for the part of the family...sort of. I put these together early Christmas Eve and they equaled 6 ramekins perfect...6 people would be here for breakfast! Three family members were here and the others would be coming later Christmas. So Christmas morning, I made coffee, put these into the oven and prepared a few other quick things. Told the boys (16 & 18) to take out of the oven when timer when off and headed to the shower. Just about the time I came out getting showered/dressed, the remainder of my group arrive but what the heck, I only had TWO ramekins left! Those two boys had decided to go ahead and eat while hot and they were so GOOD they each ate another! We divided the remaining two among the rest of us and I ended up cooking additional eggs/bacon on Christmas morning. Just what I was trying to avoid! Next year, I'll double! They were wonderful, quick, and easy, and a big hit!! Merry Christmas!
Oh no Nancy! Your story just made me laugh out loud! LOL! I can totally picture this scene! 😂😂😂😂Well at least your hard work didn't go to waste?! At least they were gobbled up! Ha! Poor thing! Yes next year double the recipe! Ha! :)
Query, could the bread not be put in the toaster and then cut instead of grilling after cut?
In a pinch you could try that, but the bread might get to crumbling after cutting it, and you could end up with too many bread crumbs in your puddings :) . But if you only have a toaster oven then sure! It will still taste good :)
That definitely looks more than 3 tbsp of dry white wine. But hey, I love my wines in food!
dear Beth, when giving recipes you always mention that if so doesn't drink they should this or that instead. could you also be this attentive about meat? could you offer us an alternative that comes in mind for the ham here? xo
Oh sure of course! I would swap the ham for chopped Asparagus spears or frozen peas would be great too! :) Hope you enjoy!
