It always fascinates me how people plan a whole holiday menu...my mind just doesn't work that way so thanks for shedding a light on that. I always imagine not enough cooking surfacs or space for it all if you're feeding a crowd. The prepping and cooking of some in advance is great to watch as then I can see how one can pull something like this off. The decor and the menu is well-coordinated and looks beautiful! A few years ago I started doing a Christmas brunch and it's one the best decision that I have made. I made this cake as written (apart from adding a little more juice and a little less water) and it is delicious. I made mine in a 9 x 13 metal pan for 45 minutes at 350 degrees. We had a "sample" when the cake was too warm from the oven and it was not appealing. The flavors were strong and didn't meld. When allowed to cool completely, it's delicious. It's a beautiful cake for Christmastime.

Boy I never even heard of a Christmas brunch growing up we were lucky if we got presents in our family and I can count on one hand how much Christnas came with presents and brunch is something you order out at a high end cafe and while we're one the subject of breakfast that was something I've always made or bought myself otherwise you went without! Who needs Christmas presents when you got Beth for a mum!

Entertaining With Beth I am definitely going to try the egg bake with sausage and cottage cheese. I have added the cottage cheese before to eggs and I know how good it tastes and fluffy it makes them. So thanks again for the receipt.
Beth, We're hosting a birthday a party for our little Chihuahua puppy in January, she'll be a year old and everything she's seen, including snow, has been a first time experience. I have the eezy peezy doggie birthday cake recipe ready and the invite includes 6 of her best friends and their moms and dads when it dawned on me 'what do I feed the humans'? This brunch is PERFECT so thank you for saving me work trying to put something together!! The menu looks quick and easy and when I had the B&B in Key West, the 'Oatmeal Bar' was usually a hit even without the slow cooker. Only difference was we had a very productive Mango tree out back by the pool! You present a very nice table Beth!!! One other thing and NO offense intended but I always have to laugh at the idea of modern day cooks that wisk the dry ingredients in a separate bowl from the wet. Back in the day when I learned to bake watching my mom and grandmother, the wet ingredients were wisked with a fork and the dry ingredients were put in the hand sifter and added right to the wet. I still use the hand sifter my parents got as a wedding gift in 1946 and it works great, so does Old Faithful, the Sunbeam Mix Master!! Thanks Beth!!
This is the first time seeing your video and I love it! I love how you show how to do the recipes and then how to prepare them so it all fits together to have a warm meal! Looks so delicious, wish I knew people that would appreciate this...I relocated and miss friends and family at times like this. Sadly the people I know now don’t appreciate elegant entertaining. Plus some have implied it’s unnecessarily pretentious 😥😞.
oh no! OK, well you just need to "find your people" who will appreciate it! Spend some time in public gardens, museums, wine tastings, bookstores, cooking classes, any place where people congregate that appreciate beauty, and you will find those who are in to the same things you are. I know some people feel entertaining in an elegant way can appear pretentious but really I feel it's the sincerest form of love. Taking the time to set things out in a beautiful way makes people feel special, appreciated, it creates a sort of theater that allows you to transport people to "another world" for a few hours. No one will ever remember what you served, or said, but they always will remember how you made them "feel" :) xx

I always love your game plan parts to these videos! You always have so many good tips - like "make sure both your pans fit in the oven beforehand", which is something so little and kind of silly, but i could totally see myself accidentally not checking LOL

Beth, We're hosting a birthday a party for our little Chihuahua puppy in January, she'll be a year old and everything she's seen, including snow, has been a first time experience. I have the eezy peezy doggie birthday cake recipe ready and the invite includes 6 of her best friends and their moms and dads when it dawned on me 'what do I feed the humans'? This brunch is PERFECT so thank you for saving me work trying to put something together!! The menu looks quick and easy and when I had the B&B in Key West, the 'Oatmeal Bar' was usually a hit even without the slow cooker. Only difference was we had a very productive Mango tree out back by the pool! You present a very nice table Beth!!!
One other thing and NO offense intended but I always have to laugh at the idea of modern day cooks that wisk the dry ingredients in a separate bowl from the wet. Back in the day when I learned to bake watching my mom and grandmother, the wet ingredients were wisked with a fork and the dry ingredients were put in the hand sifter and added right to the wet. I still use the hand sifter my parents got as a wedding gift in 1946 and it works great, so does Old Faithful, the Sunbeam Mix Master!!

This is the first time seeing your video and I love it! I love how you show how to do the recipes and then how to prepare them so it all fits together to have a warm meal! Looks so delicious, wish I knew people that would appreciate this...I relocated and miss friends and family at times like this. Sadly the people I know now don’t appreciate elegant entertaining. Plus some have implied it’s unnecessarily pretentious 😥😞.
oh no! OK, well you just need to "find your people" who will appreciate it! Spend some time in public gardens, museums, wine tastings, bookstores, cooking classes, any place where people congregate that appreciate beauty, and you will find those who are in to the same things you are. I know some people feel entertaining in an elegant way can appear pretentious but really I feel it's the sincerest form of love. Taking the time to set things out in a beautiful way makes people feel special, appreciated, it creates a sort of theater that allows you to transport people to "another world" for a few hours. No one will ever remember what you served, or said, but they always will remember how you made them "feel" :) xx

salt and pepper it, brown all sides, slow roast 325, pull it out at 128, cover with foil, rest for 10 minutes, carve

I always love your game plan parts to these videos! You always have so many good tips - like "make sure both your pans fit in the oven beforehand", which is something so little and kind of silly, but i could totally see myself accidentally not checking LOL
