The wildest thing about Zillow is the prices.
Can't believe you just doxxed some random house in new york lmfao
Hi Lexi!
ITS THE QUEEN HERSELF
👑
yess
AND OMG HII LEXI- gaspgaspgaspgasp you’re one of my favorite narrators
Omg! I think I know what’s going on with the “warehouse home!” It’s not actually a home. It’s a place for people with Alzheimer’s and dementia. Family of those with these diseases can drop off their loved one there for a sort of day care. The facility is fully staffed and the idea is that the scenery matches the participant’s memories. Instead of trying to force a person to stay “present,” they just let them experience their golden years as they did their younger. The participants are usually extremely happy and the families are reassured that their loved ones are cared for while they are away.
13:20 Lexi is like those GeoGuessr people when it comes to NYC
I never realised how much I needed Lexi narrating my favourite sub, but here we are. Thank you Emkay gods for this blessing 🙏
Same!
I'm like 75% sure that the house at 17:00 is down the street from my mother-in-law's house. All the houses in that area are a little weird because there's an ordinance that no two houses can have floor plans or exteriors that look too similar, which is a pushback against the developments from the housing boom where builders would let people choose from like 3-5 plans so all the houses look alike.
That explanation sounds dumb enough to that I'd believe it. People do the weirdest things out of spite (which I 100% endorse)
I kind of love that, every place should have a law like that - it would make streets more visually interesting.
maybe only for houses over a certain size or only for exteriors, there's only so many ways to arrange a small two bedroom house I suppose.
@@isthatrubble It also makes the houses much more expensive. Her house--just the house, not the land--cost twice as much as my house (one of those semi-cookie-cutter ones) did with the land included, and hers is just over 2/3 the square footage and has half as many bedrooms.
It's also much less energy-efficient. Turns out people make houses as boxy rectangles because that's the most efficient way to do it! Who knew?
@@Bacteriophagebs not sure how the shape of a house can effect energy efficiency in a major way.... my understanding is energy efficiency is mostly about insulation and keeping air either in or out, and surely insulation can go in any shaped house and any house can be "sealed"? obviously any house can have solar panels and any house with even a small yard can have a water tank, but I'm assuming that's not what you're referring to
I understand why an original design *costs* more, you have to pay an architect instead of just buying an existing design, and you can't use as much off the shelf components and standardised arrangements of things like pipes or whatever.
@@isthatrubble Energy is lost via exterior walls and the roof. The less square footage you have of those, the less energy you lose if you use the same insulation. A cube gives you the most efficient practical way to enclose a given volume with a building. Therefore, the boxier the house, the more energy efficient it is for a given square footage of floor.
The desire I have to wear gothic frilly vampire shirts 24/7 in that first house for the rest of my life is SO strong.
I live for Lexi lowkey dissing these listings 😂
I have such a soft spot for earthships. I say that only because I see one here, and I know nobody cares what some random person in the TH-cam comments thinks of homes on Zillowgonewild, but god it's all so gorgeous and sometimes I don't understand how so many people don't like the style.
Plus earthships are completely self sustainable and often made by hand; seeing just how resourceful and creative someone can be with a home is astonishing. Hell, I visited an earthship neighborhood visitor center this July and it was the coolest thing I've witnessed in years.
The only time I really appreciate flippers is when they come in, renovate and refinish things properly so the next resident won't need to worry about redoing all their work in five years, but they don't raise the price to outrageous levels. My family sold my grandmother's house to a company that was going to come in and flip it. Honestly, after seeing the work and the listing price, I'm not entirely sure how they're going to make a profit on it. They did a good job and the price is still appropriate for the area. And the place really did need work, so there's no reason not to sell it to someone who was planning to make improvements before selling it on.
A neighboring house had a gas fire that nearly took out my house and the neighbor on the other side, too. Flippers' contractors just finished, and someone bought it before it was even done.
...and i think something went wrong when turning on their Internet. I guess I'm due for a call to my ISP, anyway.
@12:48: You're right. You're looking at 104 Central Park South (59th Street), between 6th and 7th. Right beside the Trump Parc Condominium (yes, spelled Parc) and directly across from Central Park.
@22:04: The second one looks like a Pittsburgh toilet. Usually found in an unfinished basement, sometimes with a shower nozzle and a standard drain in the floor in the corner. They were used for coal miners and steel workers to use when they came home to clean up a little before going into the house proper and then fully showering. That way you didn't track coal dust or steel dirt into the house proper. These were usually found around the Pittsburgh, PA area, hence the name.
You always need the bathtime crossbow. What is some rapscalion breaks in whilst you are in thr tub
"This episode is going to be eleventy billion years long"
I don't see a problem with this
No thanks, I want a place I can afford in this lifetime
Womp womp
Honestly I wouldn't really want any of these houses even if I COULD afford them, my clumsy @ss would inevitably damage the interior and/or expensive furniture within a week lol
No such thing 😊
Even if diavolo worked in all his infinite deaths, he wouldn't be able to afford any of these
So you want to sleep on the street?
"Welcome to Aperture Science" killed me XD
Also, Lexi being able to find the exact address of that apartment building is terrifying....
22:33 Chick-in-lights. CHICKEN LIGHTS! IT'S A FUCKING PUN!!!
That aggressively "waterfront" house is disturbing, but not nearly as disturbing as some of the beach houses propped up on metal stilts 100 feet *above* the water.
Zillow has broken into my Sims build folder again
I am sooo bad at building stuff I always download houses from Mod The Sims if I want to go fancy 😭😭😭
feltttt
3:27 I think this would look amazing for a themed sitting room/cafe near a zoo or greenhouse or some jungle themed attraction, especially if the windows look out into an enclosure or something
Some of these could be practical spaces, like motels, lodges or restaurants. As homes, they are huge clumps of extravagant, unaffordable wasted spaces.
More liveable and affordable apartments or blocks are needed.
Also, nice to have you back, Lexi 😁
WE HAVE A CASTLE IN IDAHO????? HOW DO I LIVE HERE AND NOT KNOW THIS? Oh that's why, it is a sad castle. Well it got better towards the end. Huh that's cool
2:20 The suit of armor is purely decorative, made of cheap metal sheet (I assume, certainly is thin and flimsy.) My mom has had I think that exact one for as long as I can remember. I would say it's not worth more than $300, certainly a nice decorative piece but I would say its size is where most of its cost comes from.
I'm definitely sold on that gothic style house. I'd totally live in that.
I always feel so comparatively uneducated when I listen to Lexi’s videos. I feel like she knows everything about everything!
My guilty pleasure is judging houses I'll never be able to buy
Just one word:
MOAR!
5:40 there are actually some weirdcore / liminal space pictures of fake landscape designs inside a house, and it was like a retirement home, it was made for elderly people because they couldn't travel far and much but still wanted to see outside so this is what they did. That warehome is obviously not a retirement home but I just remembered this thing when I saw that
I always love it when Lexi narrates
I love how quick flexi is like "it's here" and we'll sure enough it is there. 🤣
i need a 4 hour version of this.
Okay, but Lexi's GLaDOS impression was on point 😭
“I am a self professed gun nut” Lexi just became the most fucking based woman I know, and she was already based as fuck 😎
Hahah thanks
3:16 when I was still playing animal crossing, I had a room set up like this (with the glowing jungle ruins wallpaper, ruined vine columns, glowing moss rug).
The Happy Home Academy wasn't thrilled either 😭
8:00 The Mullet of houses, business in the front, party in the back!
I'd like to be able to aford LEGO. These houses aren't even a distant possibility 😢
The wierdcore warehome is ngl a place i could see myself happily living out the rest of my life
16:18 Took me a second to figure out what was so wrong with the After pic. It's not just that they covered the brickwork in Landlord White, *THEY TOOK OUT THE TREES!* Yeah sure, half a mil "upgrade" with worse AC costs and more road noise.
I will ALWAYS watch eleventy billion year-long episodes with Lexi! (She's my favourite by far.)
My old architecture profs would be screaming about these houses.
Be it in an excited way or horrified way. Both apply o-o
3:27 their house is just a green house! it looks like a museum/zoo indoor plant exhibit! honestly I kinda love it... except the kitchen, that sucks.
15:33 lexi would slay that jacket on the left
12:31
That arm looks weirdly long 😂
Also you can even really look at the pictures because she's right there in the middle 😂
Speaking of funky houses in New Mexico, ever hear of an Earthship? You have now. It’s a house made of recycled materials and designed to be completely self sustaining.
Actually, yeah a few of those ARE Earthships. 20:14 is definitely one
im loving Lexi playing geoguessr
If I'm buying a castle, I'm doing my bathroom the old fashioned way, bucket, poop shute and all.
0:45 OOOHHH CASTLE HOUSE CASTLE HOUSE!!!!
3:20 ok you may not be a fan but I absolutely LOVE this living room! it's calling to me!
6:46 I'd turn it into a home dance studio!
8:18 oh wow I love that too!
10:37 oh definitely want as well!
20:23 I like that too, also the ominous ritual circle in the back yard
21:36 ok nice kitchen
now take all these and mash them up into one house and that's my dream house!
5:40 so much wasted space. They probably could have added a second floor at least in some parts, but as is, most of the height is just... wasted.
Great video Lexi, glad you had (mostly) fun with it ^^
About the "I hate flippers" comment Lexi made
I personally have a neutral opinion about flippers
lots of flippers absolutely ruin houses
but I've seen plenty of flippers who genuinely made a massive difference on a house and made it look a *lot* nicer
The Warehome reminds me of a nuclear bunker. Like its laid out and decorated with false scenery like some of the house-like bunkers they built in the 60s in case Russia started the End.
That first house bears just enough resemblance to Hill House from the Netflix series that I both love it and find it mildly unsettling.
I feel myself going giddy over the Tudor mansion...
0:27 what library? That's just a bookshelf!
The exhibitionism tub looks to be a bathtub/hottub mix, so you can use it for both
LEXI!!! Absence does make the heart grow fonder!!!
13:13 reminded me I was just thinking yesterday how weird af it is that new yorkers can determine the exact part of the city you're in from just a picture or video with a sliver of the background. I can't explain it. When I first moved there I was like, damn, this grid and numbering system makes everything seem fucking identical. Now that I no longer live there I can watch a street interview and tell what neighborhood/borough it is by the average age of the pedestrians and how much of the sky is visible
I LOVE the futuristic house. But I don't think even an arm and a leg would be enough to buy it :(
You can buy the same houses for 1/10th of the cost in Sweden. If you're ok with living in Sweden, that is.
If I didn't have to learn Swedish I would absolutely move to Sweden
11:23 My immediate first thought: That's a Spicy Zillow!
21:24 This California Tudor home is gorgeous. 😮
0:38 when you want a McCastle instead of a McMansion
Looks like MTV Cribs can pretend celebrities live there
The upside to the house at 10:43 is that if u knock out the bridge zombies can't get u
11:54 That house is also on 700+ acres of land. Its one of my faves to visit on zillow
Ngl, id gladly live in that warehome. Its definitely a vibe
PLEEEASE have the Castle in Gallatin TN!! I grew up right next to that location and the fact that there's a CASTLE peeking up over the trees is INSANE
21:49 That tight there is not even Tudor. It’s definitely early 1930s inspired. The very specific shade of green is a dead giveaway. The vertical line wallpaper and the octagonal tile floor. Screams 1930s. It’s pretty spot on. Whoever designed it sure did there homework, I can appreciate it. Was never a fan of the 30s’ obsession with that ugly shade of green though.
The house at 18:50 looks so 2000s like it's the 'house of the future' and that future is workaholic polygamist.
Lexi narrating this seems perfect
Those "scary" toilets, the second one ws an unfinished basement toilet. And it could have been worse. Seen plenty next to basement washing machines and showers...why they put in utilities without finishing the basement is beyond me, but it's a thing we do in PA. Don't know if it's just us...I kinda hope so.
This reminds me of when my brother is in town and we go drive around the fancy neighborhood and look at all the ridiculous houses
shower gun --> bath crossbow, its ok
I believe the glass you're thinking of is Electro-Chromic Glass...
It's a sheet of plastic (or liquid crystal) that turns opaque when an electric current is applied to it sandwiched between 2 sheets of glass...
Japan uses it in their outdoor bathrooms (so you can see it's unoccupied when you approach but when you lock the door, the glass stops being see-through for privacy)...
That’s the one! Thanks!
@@TheLexikitty You're more than welcome...
Usually Happy to help...
not Always...
But Usually...
😄😁😆😅😂🤣
You were the PERFECT person to read this subreddit
The warehome one makes me think of the Brendan Fraziermovie “Blast From The Past”
The only thing I can think about is so many unpractical windows to wash
3:26 What in the ANCIENT RUINS am I looking at right now?
the first house kind of reminds me of my grandparents house (although its a bit small compared to it), especially the inside. I guess I should say its their old house now though... they sold it and bought a smaller house since they got lonely living in a big house when it was just the two of them, mustve felt a lot more homey when they had four kids living in it too. their new house is fine, but I miss the pool their old house had :( well, maybe not. I got pushed into it by my brother when I was a toddler and almost drowned
Yes I'm gonna rock the exhibition bath, get some fabulous bath bombs, some candles, some vibing music and a glass of Wine...show everyone how to bathe like a gentle'lady "mmnnyess"
TH-cam must do something about all of these damn bots in the comments
It's worse in some places
I really needed to laugh today, and with my favorite narrator and pretty houses?
"That's a lot of bricks" Lexi says, showing she doesn't travel much. There are whole towns in Germany where you see nothing but bricks.
Same in Texas. I think my entire town, until recently, was entirely brick. I'm not entirely sure there's wood exteriors now.
Grew up in FL so brisk houses were always good (hurricane protection) but most builders still would dress it up a bit by having siding or painting the bricks or something to make it look less like “this home is sponsored by red bricks and red bricks only”
I did not expect Lexi to be a maximalist! As a minimalist (read: depressed boring milennial) myself I don't quite get the appeal of the last house but I definitely vibe with that one commercial looking home, though it would need quite a bit of change to be less, well, commercial.
Is there like a word for being in between maximalist and minimalist because I feel like that's where I fall
Lol these remind me of the bathrooms at this boat bar that my stepdad bought me to the doors were plywood and being held shut with hopes and prayers. Also my stepdad saw a guy dealing drugs there witch isn’t very common were I’m from 😅😅 22:08
The tall thin skyscrapers on Central Park south are called billionaires row
The warehouse looks like the place Gus Fring and Mike were keeping the Germans building the meth lab in Better Call Saul.
5:47 I'd change the decorating scheme and enclose the garage section so I don't loose all my Heat when entering/leaving in the winter, but I'd absolutely live there...
3:14 my pet snake would love this house
I don't really know what Lexi means by cat tails feel weird. I love cat tails. When I was little I used to say that they were my favorite flower. My father would stop on the highway just to pick me some.
i used to be fully mobile and my room and the batchroom were upstairs. when i was on crutches and a manual wheelchair i got a stair lift but when ii started needing a powerchair i swapped rooms with my mum and got a toilet and sink in the corner of my bedroom (i hand wash out of the sink as showering is not viable anymore) so when this house eventually gets sold (hopefully when i am dead as i am inheriting the house we live in when it comes time which will most likely be where i live for ever and i love this house since it is fully adapted and we probably could not afford something this size since we are its second owners and it was built in the 30s) it will look a bit strange
7:24 I'm getting Fortress of Solitude vibes
very glad for another lexi video
5:40 Kind of reminds me of the bunker from Blast from the Past.
2:20 McCastle.
3:25 are you kidding me? That looks sick
14:24 that's a metal poster of an old timey Dr Pepper bottle
not even a terrible collection of hardware-gore leaves Lexis that confused and in search for the right words. this subreddit seems to be some true kind of fancy purgatory.
3:20 I...I'm actually for this one. Looks like a good place to do some meditation
11:22 i hate that my first thought was "inflates your housing market making it big and round"
3:17 Is literally just a VRChat Chill world but irl
7:53 I bet it’s a film house for movies
There is a castle in the city I live in. It even includes a moat and drawbridge.
6:30 My original Resident Evil-loving a** _needs_ this basement. Ozwell E. Spencer called, and he's approved the expenses to make this basement.
