Every. Single. Time. I lose it. These ships all have so much nostalgia for me. I got to grow up in the Golden Age of Star Trek with TNG, DS9, and VOY. Not to mention, getting to watch the TOS movies as they came out. (I was born in 1981. I basically got to see Star Treks III - VI come out in the theaters). So....seeing these ships....and the Enterprise-D in Episode 9, made me realize just how much I loved that era of Star Trek. To see these ships (and DS9 in LD) after all these years.... God, I had a wonderful childhood with these shows.
Hearing the theme song for Voyager punched me with nostalgia. All of her adventures flashed through my mind with fondness, as I know they did for Seven. The crew taken to the Delta quadrant by the Caretaker became a family. I looked forward to watching Voyager every week when I was a teenager. the 90's were years I thought would never pass. The themes coming back to take you home. Time is a remarkable thing - when music can take you back to it.

A lump in my throat and tear in my eye every time voyagers music hits. My late uncle and I had a very close bond over our love for Voyager amongst other things. ❤
You know I just remember, the Voyager did not travel further than any other star ship. Enterprise D did. It pass through 2 galaxy when the traveler was onboard.
Yes, I too am fond of the Constitution class, having grown up with the original television shows and movies. While I very much enjoy the _Defiant,_ _Enterprise-D,_ _Enterprise-E,_ and _Voyager_ also, Kirk's _Enterprise_ is such a classic, iconic starship which forever holds a special place in the community's heart.🖖🏻
After only seven years of service, the Enterprise-A was decommissioned; since many of her senior officers (Kirk, Spock, McCoy, and Scott) were retiring, Starfleet did the same with her.
@@michaelmorton5698 Due to the events of the novels, it's generally believed that the Enterprise-A had previously been the Yorktown. So she wasn't a new ship by any means, and probably had *far* more than a mere 7 years of service.
The scores from DS9, TOS, Voyager & STIV... Just beautifully intertwined with each ship displayed. Poetic 'drive by observation'... makes each feel 'seen.'
OMG the themes make this scene!! When Seven brought up the Voyager and that theme plays . . . and she reveals her memories, and how she felt about the crew . . . what a moment!! When the Voyager theme came on, I have to admit to having teared up. And just seeing the history of Star Trek honored in those few minutes, from Defiant, Kirk's Enterprise, Voyager and Bird of Prey (so instrumental in ST IV) . . . made to hit the heart-strings of ST fans everywhere and I gotta say, at least for me, it WORKED!!
I just wish we could've seen her more from the front a bit in this scene. Don't get me wrong, she looks really good from the top rear. But just imagine how sexy she would've looked from the front so we can see that beautiful blue reflector dish.
Star Trek has always held a special place in my heart. Coming home from School to put on TNG/DS9/Voyager Reruns on Syfy, watching through the Films on movie night. This scene genuinely made me cry watching the old girls be shown again. I never thought we'd see them again on screen, and watching Seven quiz Jack about the ships reminds me of nights with my Dad quizzing me on Star Trek knowledge. And the way she chokes up at Voyager I was 100% with her. The musical ques and motifs just makes everything hit harder. Congrats to the showrunners hit all the nostalgia buttons the right way.
1:23 - I don't understand why they remade the Enterprise for DSC and SNW, when they could have just slightly updated the original Matt Jefferies design like this. That Connie looks beautiful, so much better than the DSC/SNW design.
Totally agree. The SNW is cool looking but it's a very far department both in looks and size. A slight update like the New Jersey is much easier to explain away...
It makes us wonder what eventually became of Colonel Kira, Jake, Dr. Bashir, Lieutenant Ezri Dax, and Quark. Besides some written books, we have never seen these characters since _Deep Space Nine_ ended.
@@verentyee5413 Kira was still running the station as of Lower Decks. Quark was still running the bar and had franchised his business across the quadrant.
I know it would have required too much set work, but I would have KILLED to see Seven on Voyager one more time. Just walking the halls, or on the bridge.
Just such a big love letter to Trekkies. Some nitpicks... Seen as Jack's relationship to his father is one of the conversation threads of this scene you'd think they'd have shown the Stargazer. Seven could have told Jack it was his father's first command. Then, with the shot of the Enterprise A, Seven could have clarified it was Kirk's second Enterprise and perhaps could have added, "your father commanded two Enterprises too" as a way of reminding Jack of how great is father was much like Kirk, to help him draw closer to him. Also, its a nod to the E which got so little love in Picard.
It warms my heart to see that both the refit Connie, the Original Connie, and one of the NX class ships all share the same museum with the Enterprise D and voyager, among many others. It is a shame that the other enterprises arnt there, lost in their own respective battles… but at least the greats are still present and accounted for in the museum.
Seeing these ships, especially Voyager is like meeting an old friend you've not seen for years. Just to know there are still there (fictionally), is an amazing feeling.
This counts as one of the most heartfelt moments this season.🥲🥲🥲🥲😢😢😢😢 _Star Trek_ has such a rich legacy, as illustrated by the various starships throughout the centuries. Whether the _USS Defiant,_ Constitution class _USS Enterprise,_ or Intrepid class _USS Voyager,_ to name a few vessels, they all made their names in history, thanks to some of the finest captains and crews who manned them.
First time i saw this, hearing voyagers theme again, seeing her again, seeing sevens remembrance of her, was both a joyful moment and a gut punch all at once.
the ships at the museum at this point my favorite is 1701 A. i mean James T kirk commanded it. and in st6 paved the way for the federation to make peace with the klingons
Let's be honest. What really makes this scene is the music. The fact that they incorporated all the theme music from each series whenever they showed the ship made this scene so beautiful. Live Long and Prosper, Star Trek.
I grew up watching Star trek (90s to present) and seeing so many of these iconic ships again with their respected themes playing was heart warming and extremely nostalgic (wish we got to see NX-1 though), but seeing Seven showcasing USS Voyager with Voyager theme playing in the background was just a perfect heartfelt moment, and I hope we get to see more of these moments again in the 3rd season of Picard.
@@davidbethke5463 Oh I know she's in there. Just wish we got a close up like the others. First of all let me just say the fleet museum, as a concept for this particular episode, was brilliant both as a nostalgic device and the furtherance of canon. I like that these ships go someplace to be honored, remembered and visited. Living in Philadelphia across the river from the real life USS New Jersey I've had a humbling opportunity to visit floating history and seeing how the sailors lived and worked together in such close proximity wrapped in this incredibly claustrophobic shell of wire and metal. It's nice to see that tradition continued well into the future. In my mind's eye I can see the crews of these ships (the ones still alive anyway) taking their family and friends on a holiday to visit the museum and walk around inside a memory. I truly hope that happens before the series concludes. Maybe Seven on the Voyager visiting her old alcove or Worf sitting in the captains chair of the Defiant, maybe a fond look over to Dax's station and a single tear or even Jean-Luc on the recovered saucer section of the Enterprise-D. One can only dream. Secondly, this season has been an absolute delight to behold and while I feel the entire Picard run should have been just like S3, I am grateful for at least one season with the old band back together doing their thing while handing off the baton to the next. Its been a real privilege to see it done right, unlike, say, how Disney took a giant fucking shit on Luke, Leia and Han in the Rey trilogy. They breathed new life into a decades old beloved tv show which is a TREMENDOUS achievement in and of itself. Of course a part of me hopes the response to this season will prompt Paramount to sign these actors on for several more, but I will be forever grateful to the writers, cast and crew of S3 for fixing what was broken in the first two seasons and giving them a REMARKABLE send off.
Jeri Ryan absolutely NAILS her line reading when she talks about Voyager. The perfect combination of longing, loss and love for her former life. Even better when you consider she was looking at an empty screen in real life.
The shows had the same thing since having a working screen that size at the time would destroy the budget. Although I do agree looking at a green screen and trying to describe whats on it is challenging. Especially for actors who are used to looking at others or props.
I can't help it, that just feels engineered rather than crafted. It's like when a rock band says "It's great to be here in !" No. Matter. What. Guaranteed cheer.
After Jack asks "Which one's that?", how it shows Seven's fingers slowly move and the camera slowly crawls up to her face, beautifully shot and very emotional 😭

@@spaceforce-girlforcejjwest2048 you didn't like Strange New Worlds?
@@spaceforce-girlforcejjwest2048 well Disco pushed way more 😂 31st
And then the crew went to bay 12…
You can feel all of Seven's memories flashing across her mind as she stares at Voyager. The ship and crew etched into her nanoprobes.
Ahhhh this scene is truly a love letter, especially the themes playing in the background. I'm surprised Jack hasn't heard of Voyager though.
He might be more into the "classics" pre-golden era ships, which is fair, some history buffs tend toward certain periods and consume them at times to the exclusion of all else.
@@SalinaMoonfall He knew about the Defiant, which had its heyday within the same time period. I am also surprised he wouldn't know about "the Voyager", probably the most famous "lost" vessel in Starfleet history.
He should know. I felt like this was clumsy writing. Jack had to pretend to be ignorant so Seven could pour her heart out to him about why Voyager is so important to her.
I don’t hold it against TPTB though. So far this season’s episodes makes up for the disappointment I feel for the previous two seasons in spades!
I believe I know what’s going to happen and I’m giddy with anticipation! I won’t spoil anything.
Here’s a hint. I think Admiral Picard is going to discover that he is “The Enemy Within.”
@@Emeraldnite-if7vo you would be surprised how people miss things due to distraction within their own lives.
@@Emeraldnite-if7vo he may have known about the Voyager but just didn't recognize it (and then listened to Seven's explanation out of courtesy, and to not interrupt her). Like how I'm aware of the history of the U.S.S. Arizona, but I couldn't pick it out of a lineup.
God, USS Voyager accompanied by the Voyager theme...brought a tear to my eye. "A beauty," indeed! Also, this whole fleet museum is fuel for fanfics and spinoffs, so I deeply hope someone does a story on the non-rebuilt Connie class, USS New Jersey (preferably with a Captain Szimanski as a shout-out).
Someone actually mentioned the USS New Jersey on the latest video on the Official Battleship New Jersey Museum and Memorial TH-cam channel!
Jeri Ryan did such a good job. That was a real feeling.
The New Jersey is obviously the original Connie stored in museum that Picard cited with Scotty in the classic TNG episode "Relics".
@@andreabindolini7452Except it isn't exactly like the TOS Enterprise....
@@Anth230 well, clearly belong to the same class.
I grew up on the movies, from Motion Picture to Undiscovered Country. The Enterprise-A & the Bounty are the ones I have a love for.
Same here! Made me feel good knowing Kirk and the original played a part in saving the day again.
same here!
I think my first intro to the series was the several snippets of the Original Series, but the first thing I think I saw most of the way through was the Voyage Home. I’ll always have a soft spot for that movie. No matter what.
3:17: That was a nice touch with them playing a few notes from the Star Trek IV theme :)
For 37 years I've wondered whatever became of the HMS Bounty, finally got my answer!
For the life of me I can't believe this season and season 2 were filmed back to back. I'm blown away by how good S3 has been. The first 3 or 4 eps I was bracing myself for the let down, after last nights episode I am finally relaxed. Star Trek is in good hands.
Too bad it came too late to save Star Trek Discovery.
I swear I will NEVER consider all the whiners and crybabies who DARE to call themselves Star Trek fans to be true fans. Any TRUE fan would just be happy to have Star Trek back and NOT use lame excuses of the stupid, pathetic, IDIOTIC WOKE concept and the equally stupid "It's not my Star Trek" argument.
Star Trek could have VERY EASILY ended after Enterprise. Gone, left without a renewal.
Instead, since enterprise, we got
Star Trek Kelvin trilogy
Star Trek Lower Decks
Star Trek Discovery
Star Trek Strange New Worlds
Star Trek: Picard
And Star Trek Prodigy.
Bad Acting and story are one thing. But if you hide behind the ridiculous Woke Concept excuse and "Not my Star Trek" Argument, YOU ARE NOT A TRUE TREKKIE. END OF STORY!
1:58 - 2:30 They need to make Seven reunites with Admiral Janeway by the end of this season. And also with at least several other "Voyager" crew in the "Picard" finale. Especially The Doctor. She learned the most about humanity from these two 🥲
Janeway, Tuvoc and Captain Harry Kim at the very least.
I think they should give her command of an Intrepid class, and she has Harry Kim as her first officer, if he isn't already a Captain
@@RatchildUK Captain Tom Paris and Lieutenant (jg) Harry Kim 😄😃
@@RatchildUK is kim still an ensign
If this isn’t leading to a series for Seven, that would be a crime.
This was among the best episodes of Star Trek. Absolutely blew me away.
Jeri Ryan perfectly channeling Seven from. 22+ years ago, but also showing her growth as an individual in the time since. She's still there but also much more human
I had tears in my eyes when I saw Voyager again after a long time. And how Seven talked about it. The crew was her family. I'm just surprised that the registration number is gone.
It's not gone. The CGI artists just forgot to put it on ..😂
Every. Single. Time.
Beautiful and true
voyager was garbage
@@carl5381and so is your opinion
Why would you think the 1990's would never pass?
When they had shown Kirk’s Enterprise I was so happy. I’m shocked. That was a good scene.
Would love to see some of these ships come out of mothballs for some kind of season finale. But like museum ships of today, I'm sure they've been stripped of their weapons, propulsion, ect.
Why couldn’t they use the Intrepid Class, and the other TNG-era ships in the fleet? They are right there.
And it was narrated by a young man who seems to inherit much of Kirk's persona, much more than his own Dad.
@@spaceforce-girlforcejjwest2048 I love him w faithful the A and the original TOS Connie were, especially the latter. The managed to make it not look out of place with the rest of the fleet at all. Makes me excited to see the Strange New Worlds/Pilot episode design get refit at some point (love that design, but the TOS changes are nostalgic and this was a great proof of concept.)

The music in this whole scene is amazing the way it weaves the classic themes together.
That Voyager moment. :,) GLORIOUS.
I like Jack's voice as he's being "poetic drive-by observational". Reminds me of Sean Bean.
Also love how they brought in the HMS Bounty. And the soundtrack includes a riff from The Voyage Home.
With a very different accent to Sean Bean though.
Really nice to see all the classic ships from the Star Trek history. Couldn't help but feel emotional when they showed the USS Voyager. I really miss Admiral Janeway and the crew and the way the music made me feel like I was home again in a sense.
I love hearing Seven talk about Voyager

Picard: Constitution class
Scotty: Aye, you're familiar with them?
Picard: There's one in the fleet museum
Now we know which one Picard was talking about. I forgot what the episode was called but I know there is a clip on youtube
I love how when Jack realizes the Bounty's cloaking device was still active, you could tell the gears were already turning in his head for a heist.
I’d love a heist Short Trek of them stealing it
It wouldn't be Star Trek without a Heist. Echos of Star Trek III, the Kobayashi Maru has set sail for the promise land!
@@obsideon1343Lol taking the classic sports car backing out of the garage and flooring it out in the street. And take out the spark plugs from the neighbors Police cruiser. Pure Jim Kirk.
I love this scene. It's not just the nostalgia. It develops the backstory of two very important characters and seamlessly adds a little bit of set up for what becomes immensely important in the story.
This is a love letter to anyone who has ever loved a starship in the ST universe. The writers, the musicians, the showrunners....this is what it should be; pay an homage to the nostalgic while giving hope that we see a series with Seven and Jack. Accolades!
1:54 Voyager was my first real introduction to Star Trek...
The first time i saw her again here, i cried happy tears for 5 minutes 🥲😭❤
Seeing Voyager was my favorite cameo of the season so far
Yup. And the voyager flourish in the musical score. Not to mention the DS9 and TOS themes. VOY was always my fave though. It was cool to actually see the ships again
This season really saved this entire show.
I was mid on the first season, actually liked the second season, and am absolutely in love with the third season.

Won't lie, this scene hit me right in the feels for how much I miss classic Trek from the material 2000's and anything prior to that.
I really liked the friendship that Jack and Seven developed in a short space of time. They work well together.
I love how each ship is accompanied by its series music. DS9 theme for Defiant, TOS for Ent-A, and of course the Voyager theme
I always wondered what happened to the Enterprise-A after Star Trek 6. Glad to see her one more time, she's always been one of my favourites.
She always brought them home.
@@Fez4277 this comment hits hard in a good way
The scores from DS9, TOS, Voyager & STIV... Just beautifully intertwined with each ship displayed. Poetic 'drive by observation'... makes each feel 'seen.'
It's so nice to be able to watch new Star Trek and recognise it as being Star Trek. This is the best Star Trek since the 90s.
It made me so happy seeing the Enterprise A one more time. She looks so beautiful
Appears they repaired her damage from the Kitomer battle too.
I just wish we could've seen her more from the front a bit in this scene. Don't get me wrong, she looks really good from the top rear. But just imagine how sexy she would've looked from the front so we can see that beautiful blue reflector dish.
The Refit Enterprise, and her twin, the Enterprise A, are still the most beautiful ships!
A slight update like the New Jersey is much easier to explain away...
when those horns from the Voyager theme kick , someone was cutting onions
My god seeing these classic ships again brought tears of joy to me. Feels like seeing old friends that haven't seen in a very long time. 🥲
I'm feeling the Star Trek throwback from the movies and the series!!!!! My childhood is complete!!!!!

Seeing the USS Voyager again in all her glory was absolutely marvelous to see 👌🏻😍
Step #1 - Try not to cry
Step #2 - Seeing Enterprise A, Defiant, even Voyager with it's theme
Step #3 - Cry your eyes out....

The USS Voyager really is a beauty. By their standards she might not be the youngest girl at the dance but Voyager would still turn a few heads.

In the right hands that lady can Dance. All eligance and leg.... all while Defiant-A is the short king out on the floor.
An older lady knows a few tricks
First time i saw this, hearing voyagers theme again, seeing her again, seeing sevens remembrance of her, was both a joyful moment and a gut punch all at once.
"The poetic drive-by observation." Both Kirk and Picard did that so well
Voyager put up with more sci fi nonsense than any Enterprise ever has and survived the delta quadrant with no backup from the federation 😂
Not gonna lie, I had chills when they showed Voyager :)
the ships at the museum at this point my favorite is 1701 A. i mean James T kirk commanded it. and in st6 paved the way for the federation to make peace with the klingons
Love the foreshadowing with the suggestion of Hangar Bay 12, especially after we found out what Geordi had been hiding in there.
Let's be honest. What really makes this scene is the music. The fact that they incorporated all the theme music from each series whenever they showed the ship made this scene so beautiful. Live Long and Prosper, Star Trek.
A lot of love has gone in to making series 3 of Picard. Makes all the difference.

This show's rendition of a TOS Constitution-Class is really good! It's faithful just with a slight graphical update.
apprently it was one the last to be of that design before the refit design but didnt receive it
I love how you hear all the different show themes when the ships appear.
I can't help it, that just feels engineered rather than crafted. It's like when a rock band says "It's great to be here in !" No. Matter. What. Guaranteed cheer.
I love just watching Seven when she pulls up Voyager on the view screen.
After Jack asks "Which one's that?", how it shows Seven's fingers slowly move and the camera slowly crawls up to her face, beautifully shot and very emotional 😭
One of the best scenes from Season 3 and the series, next to “what is in Hanger Bay 12”…
I'm happy we got to see the NX-01 for a bit. Whenever Enterprise is referenced I feel like we're dealing with hard canon
I was looking forward to seeing a close up of Sulu's Excelsior
