Great advice as always. I've never cruised but have been to Colombia, Costa Rica, and St Maarten. Fabulous beaches!

Cartagena is definitely near the top! I was able to climb the fort without getting winded--I had just lost a tremendous amount of weight. The shopping was very good and the city reminded me of southern Spain. I'd definitely go back!

I love your list. My favorite port is Bonaire and the donkey sanctuary.

In Cozumel you can leave the port, go across the street to Ix-Kool and do the Mayan Cooking Class. It was fantastic!

Cartagena will be the 1st stop on my Emerald Princess Panama Canal cruise in January. After your review, I really look forward it! Any excursion you would recommend?

Amber Cove is one of my favorite ports. I also love Grand Turk. Half Moon Cay is awesome!

Great review. What resort or beach did you go to at Bimini? I only went to the Virgin Voyages Beach Club.

3:07 went to Costa Maya last October for the first time and the shops and pool area was THE WORST. Everyone yelled at you to come shop, constantly interrupting us to have us buy things, couldn’t use the pool without buying a ton of stuff, and 10/10 don’t recommend staying there. Go out on the excursions!!! So many to do

I also liked Nassau and how close everything is to the cruise docks. However, the tented straw market, while interesting, had my senses on high alert for being pickpocketed. The dock in Freeport is far, far away from anything and a $30 taxi one-way into town.

got ripped off in Cartagena years ago. Bought coffee from a vendor on the street. Got home and noticed the bottom of the bag had been cut open and filled with green coffee beans and taped up.
The police came on our tour bus as we headed for the ship, looking for Drugs.
Bought an emerald ring , and got it home and the emerald was loose.
Had to deal with the ship to have it fixed.
We usually just stay on the ship when in port.
Maybe it has changed over the years.'
    Not discounting its beauty.

I've been to Nassau twice and I really wasn't impressed. Granted, I didn't venture far from the tourist area by the cruise port, being a woman traveling alone.
My favorite port, if it qualifies as one, was Half Moon Cay (Carnival's private island). I did enjoy the beach, but the nature trails there are beautiful.

I disagree about Cozumel. We absolutely hated that port. The vendors were way too pushy, and there was very little shade when walking around. If we stopped there again, we wouldn't be getting off the ship. We also didn't care for St. Thomas, but to be fair, we just walked around but found it way too commercialized. We'll do an excursion next time.

I cannot believe that none of the ABC Islands were on your the list. They would be the top 3 for me. I have never heard anyone mention Columbia as the number one cruise port, so it just shows lists are purely subjective to different folks.

Cartagena was horrible. We took the "best of" tour that included the fort. The couple woth us couldn't walk up the incline to tour the fort. The bus tour guide took us to us to non-desciript small stores. But if you want to experience the views of a third world country, go on that tour. We'll never go back to that port.

Nassau should not be in the top ten. Worse people ever

      why?

    • @asere1986
      @asere1986 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

@@gabyz.2585 always felt like the tourist bother them. Tours are disorganized. Jamaica was far better experience, tour were orginized, uniformed. They treateed tourist like they wanted them there.
