Be sure to grab a bottled water called Tropical . Tropical Waters come in Spring and Electrolyte enhanced waters in 100% sustainable, 100% reusable and 100% recyclable 16.0oz aluminum cans. Keep the island free of cheap plastic bottles. Look for Tropical Waters.
I went there for my honeymoon in 2013 and had a great time. We did something called snuba and loved it. I'm look forward to going back next year, but this time with my kiddos.
We’d love to see a video where you share stories from your time working on the ship! I’m sure we’re not the only chismosos that would watch that 😂 great video guys!
A little bit of a Tourist trap, but good information on the wrecks around the Caribbean. They have an old underwater robot that they were working on that would have customer controlled robot arm.
I lived there for six months or so back in the 90s while we were rebuilding the schools that were destroyed by a hurricane, and I miss living there so much!
Cool! Was there any live entertainment there beside music? My wife and I are actively searching for a place to open a small to medium-sized bar that features a Comedy and Magic Show theater. We are looking at some beach cities in Mexico but we are Americans and this popped up as a place of interest to us. Is there actual nightlife where you could potentially sell 75 tickets a couple of nights a week? ( we are good at marketing and we have an excellent show but just curious if there is the activity for this in the evenings and what time of year and so forth, thanks for any thoughts!)
We took a taxi back from emerald beach since we caught one that was dropping people off, but there aren't always taxis there. You may need to walk out to the road or ask the hotel to help you call one
Yes, there were a few taxis waiting out front when we were there. You could probably also ask the hotel lobby to call you one if there isn't any here. Have the best time!
Planning to go to St. Thomas in October. We want to go snorkeling and booked on carnival excursion but should we skip the excursios and just get off on the island and do whatever.
If you want to go snorkeling, I would definitely keep the excursion. We always enjoyed the carnival snorkeling excursions when we worked on ships. But otherwise, what we showed in this video is also fun!
It’s never been secret. It’s the first thing you see coming from the airport. Probably the best known and most crowded beach on my island actually second maybe to Megan’s bay.
By the way there’s no Hooters on St Thomas. They closed in March 2018 and it’s “Craving Crabs” now. Wasn’t where he was pointing either, that’s Kmart…….yes we have two of the last three surviving Kmarts here still 😮
Emerald Beach looks gorgeous! Curious if being so close to the airport detracts from the serenity? With NCL giving $50 off each shore excursion, booking the gondola to Paradise Point was a free no brainer before I'd done any research about it. Glad to see it's worth doing even at $25 bucks a person. Surprised your go-to restaurant is right in the main tourist shopping area by the port. Given your comments about wanting to have a respite from guests during your shore leave. $50 for two burgers and two beers seems a bit steep, as it didn't look like anything else (fries?) was included. Makes sense if you only had an hour or two before you had to be back onboard. Would love to learn about some truly local family-run haunts with amazing food and great prices away from the hustle and bustle. Will be there for my first time in six weeks!
The airport wasn't an issue at all actually! Very few planes fly in, so it wasn't distracting. Good tip about the NCL shore excursion credit! I know I know...we were shocked our fav restaurant would be in the tourist area too, but TRUST US, it's GOOD! The meal did come with fries, which are SO good as well. Usually we are all about the off the beaten path places, but this one is worth it. Have a great time!
all jobs are like that. add a 3 hour commute to a long work day and you have the same complaints as every employed person on the planet with a hard job in the mainlands

Love the ‘older and wiser’ ! I also really like St Thomas :)
It's a really stunning place. Thanks for watching!
It looks so beautiful there, and that beach was outstanding, so glad that it was the way you remembered!
Thanks for watching!
Me and my husband is just begun our tevels. And we are so excited about it.
Yay! Have a great time!

Thanks so much! We definitely have a lot of stories to share. I wish we filmed more when we worked, but it was hard to balance.
We did Paradise Point and the pirate museum the last time we were there in January. We will have to check out Emerald beach next time.
Oh cool! We haven't done the pirate museum before. How was it?
A little bit of a Tourist trap, but good information on the wrecks around the Caribbean. They have an old underwater robot that they were working on that would have customer controlled robot arm.
I’ve actually been looking for footage and information for this specific beach so thank you so much for sharing!
Glad to help!
Hola Chicos, me gustan mucho sus vídeos. Que Dios los bendiga en su matrimonio, vídeos y trabajo….Soy Jose Diego, un Ingeniero en Houston Texas!
Que amable! Muchas gracias. Un abrazo!

I imagine you have quite some stories from your time there! It seems like a laid back place to live.
They also have a taping still in Redhook
Thanks for letting us know!
Glad you had a great time, but just to clarify. The beach is called Lindbergh Bay Beach. The hotel located on it is called Emerald Beach hotel.
Thanks for the clarification!
Gotta have the burger at Tap and Still!
Best burger in the Caribbean!
Awesome video!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Awesome video I'm going there in june.
nice!
:D
Thank you for sharing ❤ what will be your next ship?
No problem! We aren't sure yet :)
Is there always taxis available at emerald beach? How did you make it back ?
We took a taxi back from emerald beach since we caught one that was dropping people off, but there aren't always taxis there. You may need to walk out to the road or ask the hotel to help you call one
I’ve been there five times never realized there was a hooters
Is it easy to get a taxi back to the boat from Emerald Beach? Looks amazing! We leave on the Celebration July 2.
Yes, there were a few taxis waiting out front when we were there. You could probably also ask the hotel lobby to call you one if there isn't any here. Have the best time!
Don’t waste your money on a taxi…..jump on a two dollar safari. Not the taxi safari.
Thanks💐
Great video! Is this beach something you could walk to from the Crown Bay terminal?
It's about a 20 minute walk, and some parts might not have a sidewalk, but if you're careful it's possible!
@@TouristtoLocal Thank you, that is helpful!
And you’re going uphill or downhill all the way. Not safe with no sidewalk on the hill

The excursion is better if you want to see turtles.
just wanted to you know Disney is selling excursions to Emerald Beach! Kinda disappointed it won't be a secret for us LOL
It’s never been secret. It’s the first thing you see coming from the airport. Probably the best known and most crowded beach on my island actually second maybe to Megan’s bay.
Is there a bar at Paradise point that would be open during a cruise port stop (9-6)?
Paradise Point is pretty much right across from the cruise terminal we were docked at in Havensight, and Tap and Still opens at 10am!
By the way there’s no Hooters on St Thomas. They closed in March 2018 and it’s “Craving Crabs” now. Wasn’t where he was pointing either, that’s Kmart…….yes we have two of the last three surviving Kmarts here still 😮
I eat there every time I go there the tap and still
It's soooooo good!
Cool channel! What a beautiful couple. This is a unique channel due to your perspectives as ex crew members. 🛳️
Thanks so much!
How close is the Tap & Still to the cruise port?
100 yards
@@2009PocoLoco I mean the Crown Bay cruise port.
8mim by car
Thank you for loving my island! Next time you come try to sample BurgerMaxx!
I wanted to see iguanas

all jobs are like that. add a 3 hour commute to a long work day and you have the same complaints as every employed person on the planet with a hard job in the mainlands
But the difference is most jobs do have at least 1 day off a week.
I’ve been there five times never realized there was a hooters
Because there isn't one on St. Thomas.
