- Today is a sea day on the Margaritaville at Sea Islander. We deal with our stateroom leak and then give our final thoughts on the cruise. Margaritaville at Sea gave us this cruise for free, but that in no way influenced our opinion or review.

Do you two have jobs? Yes! We both have full time careers. Brian is a Software Engineer and Kerry is a Graphic Designer.
What are those black pouches around your neck? We use the lanyards to carry some camera equipment, but many cruisers like to wear lanyards to hold their room key card.
What camera do you use? We typically use the DJI Pocket II, however, when we are in the water we use the Go Pro Hero 9, and in Alaska we occasionally used the Nikon P1000 for wildlife shots. What is a GUSS? GUSS is our name for a Towel Animal! It is a childhood memory for Brian that has lived on for years. You can see the home video moment where GUSS was born in Adventure of the Seas Day 6 (We Made the News) and Allure of the Seas Day 3 (Sea Day).
Is that one thing you said serious? Almost certainly not. If you’re new to the channel, we have really dry, sarcastic senses of humor. So if you’re questioning if it’s sarcasm - it probably is.
How do I ask a dinner time question? Leave a comment on any video and let us know it’s supposed to be answered at dinner time. We’re always looking for new questions (even if the next cruise we can answer it on is a long long way out).
Is it really pronounced CoCo “Key”? Royal Caribbean has said itself that it is pronounced “Key” in a FAQ of their own here: creative.rccl..... To each their own on this pronunciation!
When and how did you meet? We met in February of 2020 via a dating app. We answer this question in more detail in our Independence of the Seas Day 2 (Swimming with Pigs) video.

Dinner time question!!! What is your DREAM cruise itinerary? You’ve got 4 port days and you can pick any ports in the world (in this scenario your cruise ship can travel at ultrasonic speed 😂).

Your honest review is so very refreshing. That's why I love this channel. Thank you for being honest with us even though you were given the cruise for free, that says a lot about your character and how much you care about your audience. I will also say that I was nervous about Brian fixing the ceiling! I was so nervous that it was gonna fall on him!! Guests shouldn't have to handle that.

Carnival has two ships in their fleet that are older than this-Elation & Paradise (both came out in 1998). So it's a corporate infrastructure and operations issue.

That’s disappointing because as customers the better the competition is there are more great choices for us. Oh well. I did like the touch of the flip flops on the top of the door to your balcony. Hopefully your next cruise is much better.
I think you both did a great job with your review of the ship. The first Margaritaville ship was a disaster in my opinion but their second ship really shows how far this cruise line has come and how much farther they still have to go. I was really a skeptic on this new ship but I see significant progress from this cruise line in improving their product. Is it competitive with Royal or Carnival ships at the same price? Not yet but the gap between this ship and the major cruise lines has narrowed but like you said there are right now much better ships to be on than this one. I would love to see this type of theming on a newer ship as I think it would appeal to a lot of cruisers

Did you know that what went through a horrible storm with outskirts of the Griffin hurricane away in the Gulf of Mexico and and what happened there is they stopped all ceilings out of Miami to fix the problems that would have had and fix other things aboard that need to be done.

Love 💕Jimmy Buffett and Margaritaville. However, no tere level at this point. Toilets and dining rooms flooded( maybe because of rough seas) Pay extra for a second meal. Food is luke warm. No thank you ! At this time I’ll wait another year for improvements. I rather pay extra at Royal Caribbean.

Not only is this ship from a carnival corporation ship. It’s literally their pride class ships. But man, the amount of similarities that the ship has, and does as a whole is sooooo similar to carnival.

Dinner Time Question: How do you guys balance filming for your vlogs vs putting the camera down and enjoying vacation? Are there times where you decided not to film for one reason or another?
We actually LOVE the Islander. What you didn't take into account was the price is much cheaper than Celebrity or Royal. Not everyone gets to cruise for free. I believe you'd have had a more positive review if you hadn't had rough seas. We have 2 more Islander cruises booked and can't wait!

Are there any ships or cruise lines you wouldn’t try?

Sorry for the bad experience. And Thanks for letting us know not to sail on that ship. It seems like a one-off kind of ship that just isn't really up to the newer ship standards. And i don't know how you can get lower than a Carnival ship but it seems like they have done it.

I love your web site. Kerry is such a beautiful singer singing along with the violinist I thought she might be a professional because she seemed to know all of the words too. When you guys were answering a viewer's question, she talked about being on stage. Can you tell us about her stage experience? Personally I live to eat so I would never do specialty dining. I wish you had more regular dining in your reviews. I realize that is hard on a short cruise. Did you ever find out why there was no room service?

Dinnertime question: what is the inside scoop/details and a “how to” relating to viewing ships going in and out of Port Canaveral? What is the best place/restaurant to hang out and enjoy the ships passing? Any specific pointers?
appreciate the info. I really didn't plan on watching any reviews until a few months in. I think it will take time to work things out and as mentioned they don't have the infrastrcuture that someone like Disney has so it will take some time. We live in Tampa so I think that it would be one reason for consideration. We have grown tired of the same smaller ships so frequently go over to the other coast. Something different on the gulf side would be nice and really..we just take short weekend cruises for some time on the water. To each his own.

Dinner time question: you may have answered this before but how do you choose which side of the ship to stay in? Do you always pick port or starboard side? I know on a Disney cruise you knew which side to pick to watch the fireworks from your balcony. How do you know which side of each cruise gives you the best views?
Sorry you had a rough cruise. We recently cruised on RC Wonder of the Seas. Why haven’t you cruised on that ship yet? It’s fabulous, IMO.
Operational issues and infrastructure can be worked out over time as the cruise line gets used to operating what I assume is a larger ship to them.
What may be concerning is the number of mechanical issues. Yes, it’s an older ship, but it has presumably just come out of dry dock from a major refit and they didn’t solve plumbing and other core mechanical issues.

It's a budget cruise line...probably always will be. There's a market for it, just like people who sail on Royal or Carnival 3-4 day cruises to the Bahamas on older ships.

When I saw the corn hole course I was like wow thats genius! On Royal’s next ship they should have mini golf and a corn hole course! I almost wanted to go on Margaritaville just for the corn hole course 🤣 Think I’ll stick to Royal and Celebrity for now.
