The last P. irminia is very confident and absolutely beautiful. I have never seen an arboreal T came out of their hide and stroll around instead of bolting into their hide when the lid is being opened.

I used to be scared to death of spiders. I feel differently now. They really are just innocent, fragile, furtive little creatures. Like a mouse. All they want is to be left alone and allowed to live their own, simple lives. Amazing little animals. Thinking about the different type of symmetry their body plan uses helped me not see them as "scary". They work more like your hand, no single "front". Kind of of little crabs, and they don't scare me.

The first new world spider, looks like she is wearing designer shoes! If I could afford a pair I would buy them! The second new world spider, thinks she is getting some food. I do believe they are smart enough to figure that out. I have seen people feeding them and then they scream at how fast they grab their food. I don't think it's a good idea to scream, it scares the spiders and they end up abandoning their prey and focus on that scream. Sometimes I think the spiders think the prey is the one who screams and not its terrified owner. I really like how calm you are and gental. It looks to me that as long as everyone is calm it goes smoothly. I know it's a big scary spider but, we are so much bigger then they are.
To me, they are probably more afraid of us than we are of them. But aren't they fascinating?

also my irminia was the same size and i thought she was a subadult until i discovered her sitting on her first empty eggsack.

I think it may be the other way around. I tend to see in asian arboreals that often darker juveniles that almost looks adult tends to be females, but of course, that is not 100% but ime often males are the browner ones even when subadults
You are right. An asian arboreal that is bolting is often set up wrong. If set up right theyvare very hard to get them to leave their burrow

How quick should a tiny .5inch hati hati sling start webbing or making dirt curtains. It fed and I caught it drinking but it really has not made any web since I got it as freebie few days ago. Maybe I should add some moss or something. It had cork piece propped in one corner but its soo tiny and in such a tiny pot. I don't wanna jam it with too much stuff in there and I need a microscope to see what is going with it.

I've always wondered but never asked why do a lot of tarantula keepers use the 3, sometimes 4, enclosure system where the slings are in a small tube then when they get bigger they get moved into a bigger enclosure then they get moved into a bigger final enclosure when they become adults. Why do so many people do this? I've got my enclosure setup for my next tarantula and was planning to keep it in the enclosure for a while and then move it into a bigger and final enclosure when it gets bigger, am I planning this incorrectly and I should be doing a 3 stage enclosure move?

It's easier to monitor slings in small enclosures, and anecdotally, people say that small enclosures improves their growth rate too, as they are less reclusive.
For spiders that get very large, I usually have a sling, juvenile, and adult enclosure. For smaller species, sometimes I go right from sling to adult (for terrestrial dwarf species) or juvenile to adult (for arboreals).
The fact that the juvenile enclosure takes up less space and is cheaper may be a contributing factor in why more people don't immediately upgrade from sling to adult.

Its just easier to monitor and maintain them in suitable sized enclosures.
