This is such a gift getting to see this. I thank you and sister so much for making and sharing this video. She did great and I just want to say thank you. This takes me back to my childhood. I love this bread so much!
Your sister said she's camera shy but she has an incredible energy about her, I'd love to see more!! Thank you for the upload I can't wait to make it myself!!! :)
Thank you very much. I am usually really talkative when its just Walter and myself, as soon as he put the camera up I choked! LOL...Thank you for the compliment and I hope your fry bread turns a nice golden brown color and is fluffy!!
Update: I made this! (I had to add more flour but it was a humid day so I added flour till it was the consistency you showed) Everyone loved the fry bread!! We made tacos!! My husband took some to work he loved them so much! Delicious! And normally fried food hurts my stomach and this didn’t!!! Thank you thank you thank you!!
Thank you, Verna. Your brother is very proud of you, he's making a video of your frybread skills. Everything looks delicious, I have to wait until the weekend to do my own frybread. (I have to work)🙂🌹🌺
That sounds lovely how the oil is bubbling while the Fry Bread is cooking. The Fry Bread looks so delicious. Yummy. Your sister is a lovely lady. Thanks for sharing this video. I really enjoyed watching it.
I loved the video and thank you for sharing. I feel like I could hang out in the kitchen with you and Walter all day. Cooking and laughing and eating with good people. So fun!
I had to laugh out loud when she made the "golden brown" comment!! Lol Verna is adorable. Thank so very much for teaching me how to make your fry-bread. 😊
I'm excited to see you make fry bread and give the recipe. Thank you. My ex was pure native American Indian and his mom made fry bread..and I never got the recipe. I'm excited to try it out..I love it and it's yummy.
You folks remind me of my folks growing up. We are Cherokee living in the plains states and our fry bread is the exact same! Beautiful family - love my NDNs
Thus is the way my daughters grandma made her fry bread and she was Blackfeet, her fry bread was my favorite, it was nice and fluffy, I miss us and now I’m going to try, thanks. Can’t wait to try and make some with some pinto bean soup
Nia:wen from Alberta. I can tell you are Canadian just by the magic baking powder but also the goodhost iced tea. Great video and Verna, keep it up, you are awesome.
Thank you for sharing your recipe, I like try different recipes, The Tacos looked yummy too.. We mix refried beans in are cooked hamburger with a packet of taco seasoning so yummy, we also do lettuce, cheese, sour cream, taco sauce, but we either dice are tomatoes or buy the can of diced tomatoes, and drain them.. much easier and cheaper especially if you have a hungry bunch, I just dice onion and put those out too..love buying them at pow wow too. Thanks again.
Thank you Verna, for showing how to make fry bread. I like your relaxed attitude about it. Some of the others that show how to make fry bread make them all so perfect that I was a bit intimidated. I think I can do this ... your way!
You are welcome and I am super glad you picked up on the whole lax way I tried to make this. I thought for days how to teach it in a way that is simple and less complicated. I dont like messy hands so I tried to use gloves..nixed that idea quite quickly. I have since switched to using TenderFlake Lard instead of canola oil. Less greasy on the fry bread. try that and as any other recipe put your own spin on it. :)
Hi my name is Caroline Ogo and I’m all the way in Guam watching your channel. I simply adore Fly Bread!! I have been wanting a good recipe on this with out the yeast...and now that I found your sisters recipe I will make it and hopefully post a picture for you to see. I truely enjoyed your channel please have more recipes!!! Love it!!!
Hi Caroline my name is Michelle n I'm Hopi/Tewa Tribes from Northern Arizona. We ate known for our Kachina dances n piki bread. Google it. I hope your fry bread turn out great. Just follow her recipe n she's right do not knead your dough. Just bring it together with a cup of warm water n add more till it all comes together. If you put too much water just add more flour n cover your bowl n let it sit for 30 mins or more. This will make your dough soft...Good Luck...

If you add a table spoon of sugar to your flour....it will brown your bread! This is what I was taught by my mom........I’m NW Native!
Sugar is another ingredient my mom always added it tastes great adds flavor
Does NW stand for North West?? Not being a smart ass just curious
You did good, hmmm I am going to make some.🎈
You will love it. Update, please use Tender Flake Lard. You will have less grease on the fry bread and less smell in the house. Yes, I recently switched to lard and it made a huge difference!
Great job, Verna! I learned a lot from you. zi didn't grow up with fry bread zit looks so good I would like that better than biscuits!
