    Thank you for sharing your recipe, I like try different recipes, The Tacos looked yummy too.. We mix refried beans in are cooked hamburger with a packet of taco seasoning so yummy, we also do lettuce, cheese, sour cream, taco sauce, but we either dice are tomatoes or buy the can of diced tomatoes, and drain them.. much easier and cheaper especially if you have a hungry bunch, I just dice onion and put those out too..love buying them at pow wow too. Thanks again.

    Thank you Verna, for showing how to make fry bread. I like your relaxed attitude about it. Some of the others that show how to make fry bread make them all so perfect that I was a bit intimidated. I think I can do this ... your way!

    • @bawlbebe14
      @bawlbebe14 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      You are welcome and I am super glad you picked up on the whole lax way I tried to make this. I thought for days how to teach it in a way that is simple and less complicated. I dont like messy hands so I tried to use gloves..nixed that idea quite quickly. I have since switched to using TenderFlake Lard instead of canola oil. Less greasy on the fry bread. try that and as any other recipe put your own spin on it. :)

      Hi Caroline my name is Michelle n I'm Hopi/Tewa Tribes from Northern Arizona. We ate known for our Kachina dances n piki bread. Google it. I hope your fry bread turn out great. Just follow her recipe n she's right do not knead your dough. Just bring it together with a cup of warm water n add more till it all comes together. If you put too much water just add more flour n cover your bowl n let it sit for 30 mins or more. This will make your dough soft...Good Luck...

      Yes, if one plays with the dough too long it makes it stiffer. I think I said that in the video. I learned that from a cousin of mine. He would just mix the dry with the wet enough to spoon drop his mixture in the oil. Oh, it was fluffy!! Good luck to you!

    Verna oh my goodness I just wanna cook with you ! You’re lovely and like normal, not like this food channel people. I can’t eat fried things but this recipe looks so tempting. It’s nearly 3am and I’m so hungry.
    You guys are just lovely. Thank you for taking the time to make the video! Very much appreciated!!

    What a beautiful family the love those beautiful faces smiling happy and most importantly TOGETHER! What a loving brother to support his sister i laughed at the gloves come on sister we use the best tools in our house, our clean washed hands..best tool ever. When my microwave broke i never replaced it, dont miss it, i dont use a mixer for anything but cookies and meringue, we roll our own flour tortillas super thin, we make our own watermelon or cantelope water to drink on hot days.can i share with you a really wonderful tool i use to roll things quickly..a dowel..a rosewood dowel, i bought mine at little India, for chapati. It cost me 3 dollars its 18 inches long and its fatter in the middle and more narrow at each end and when you roll and apply more pressure on one side the whole piece of dough turns with you, my daughter only 15 can make perfectly round dough me, not anywhere near round, more like the shape of italy lol. Your bread is making my mouth water im so hungry we have been so low on food, but yay one more day. My husband is but he passed away and our daughters are Native American my husbands grandmother died on a reservation when she had an accident and the 12 kids were divided and adopted..tragically my only link to info i have no way to reach. I am trying so hard. Oh no, thats what i did wrong...im re making it tomorrow using your advice..how cute Angel...lol saran wrap! That baby girl so cute...what a pretty wife..your family is so fun and very sweet. Thank you for posting this video you are so kind i appreciate your good advice. If you want me to get you a dowel just let me know i can send it to a p.o.box please dont give out your address. I live in california. Gotta go eat something before i get skinny...hahaha..

    If you add a table spoon of sugar to your flour....it will brown your bread! This is what I was taught by my mom........I’m NW Native!

      You will love it. Update, please use Tender Flake Lard. You will have less grease on the fry bread and less smell in the house. Yes, I recently switched to lard and it made a huge difference!
