I remember a quote from someone on a warhammer fan group I was in. "Warhammer is for anyone, not everyone." Meaning there is no set target demographic that is only allowed to play warhammer but certainly not every single person is going to like it for what it is, and they should just leave it to those who do like it.

Don't get me started! Have you ever read romantic novels women like to read? The men are almost always exceptionally handsome and some are even rich. This conveys a very unrealistic body (and economic) image for men. Hence I demand all men are changed to be below average in beauty with an average net income (at most).
It is amusing that so many women want to change traditionally men's entertainment to be more welcoming to them, yet there is no interest from men for women's entertainment to do the same.
Companies want you to be emotionally invested enough in their IP to spend big money on it, but complain you're too emotionally invested when they take to it with a hatchet. They say you shouldn't care so much about the lore, then can't figure out why you don't care enough to spend money on it anymore.
I am a black Warhammer fan. Have been for years. I have a Death Guard army and their Primarch Mortarion (my favorite Daemon Primarch) , I have multiple books, and I have nearly every Warhammer 40k video game and I can say that people were just as mad when they did this with the Primaris Marines because it screws up the lore so much and this is worse because they are gaslighting fans by saying "it was always this way". They didn't say that to the fans with Primaris Marines because they knew if they did fans would have flipped the table back then. This is going to definitely hurt GW because the people that they say "won't be missed" are the same people that would play Adeptus Titanicus at scale. Look at the monetary level of entry for that. I doubt the fictional fans that they think would replace us will not shell out the money like that. I swear this feels like a Genestealer Invasion.
They have thrown away hundreds of thousands of dollars per person. And they better hope that vanguard money keeps em afloat. The people pissed off by this won't scream about it online. They'll just go "well that sucks" and stop buying They simply don't understand their customer base
The addition of the Primaris was my getting off point with the hobby, something I had been doing since 1993. There was a time when I believed this kinda thing would never happen, but they have spent the last decade or so nerfing their own lore, destroying their games and worlds (RIP fantasy), sad times, but I have my old armies and rules editions to see me through
As a Warhammer collector, painter, and hobbyist since I was 8... so 23 years now... It's not about the "Female Custodes", and it's not about "Lore changes". It's about their utter disrespect for fans, their questions and concerns. And the almost predictable responce given to any dissenting voice. "You're just a bigot". JFC. How much of this do we have to go through? First, it's beer, chocolate, and Truckers. Now, it's Warhammer, WOW, and.... I dunno what else they can ruin at this point. It's about the Blackrock/Vanguard takeover, and the suppression of unique niche ideas, philosophies, and social commentaries. All in the name of "Equality and Tolerance". And if you don't like it, then so help them No-god, they'll ruin your life for disagreeing with anything they say. At this point, it's "Socially Enforced, A-typical Moral Objectivism". And I'm sorry, as a Warhammer fan, I cannot allow this political bullshit in a game about steroid fueled meat mountains, fighting rape deamons in a technocoloured dreamscape hell. It just don't fit.
The most infuriating part to this is that women are already represented in the hobby. Multiple armies have female units and there is an entire female army that already exists in the game.
In fact, if you think about it, in the 40k universe a female can be cast as *anything* except a Space Marine/Chaos Space Marine [or a Custodes]. And in-character, even just in the human factions, no-one bats an eyelid at a woman being *anything*. Fleet commander? Okay. General? Sure. Inquisitor? You bet. Mechanicum Adept? Yes. Guardsman? No problem, sign here, showers are that way. *edit* added Custodes to the very small list of things that women cannot be in the 40k universe because it apparently completely invalidates my point...
That's the reason why I don't care about female custodes since I know them as perfected human warriors that was made in a lab if they make a good explanation why no problem If it's female space marines tho it's a diffrent story since it already stated it's hard for a female to be converted If they are shit at making female custodes work then u can expect another reason that custodes have actually no gender and the face just look female making them femboys which is now a head cannon I have right now 10 feet tall powerful femboys

My comment for this is: The moderation for things like reddit and forums has been an ongoing thing for years, trimming away parts of the community that would have been vocal about their dissent.
As someone who was on reddit since 2008 until last year: Reddit Inc has always been shit. The best thing about reddit has always been it's communities (as cringe as some of them have been, over the years).
I think it came out recently that it was Amazon's influence that triggered this change in lore. It was supposed to be a subtle change by adding a single female Custodian, but the Warhammer community manager that runs the account screwed up by gaslighting the community and put a spotlight on the change. Also, I don't believe it's a coincidence that the faction that was changed just happens to be Henry Cavill's favorite faction.
Well, Custodes are honestly the awkward stepchild of Imperial factions. I mean their reason for being playable in 40k to begin with was a huge retcon, and some argue was a mistake in of itself. So, I feel like Custodes were seen by GW as an acceptable sacrifice to keep people away from their precious Space Marines. I mean GW has repeatedly doubled down on Astartes being exclusively male, even willing to wear through accusations of transphobia just to keep them an all-boys club. Also, we really don't have any confirmation that that 4Chan post is legit. What I hate is how insufferable both sides are. You have the SJWs on one side, then the right-wing nutcases they're so hellbent on rooting out on the other. Yeah, there is a right-wing community, but the SJWs are going all witch hunter mentality on this. They want to "purge the heretics" even though it will end up making the property they're purging unappealing.
They tried to sell female figures back in the day, but no one bought them. They pulled the figures and made a female only army years later, but they’re going back on information that they already know. A lot of people on Reddit and I would say 50% or more of players don’t even know about any of this drama, cause I posted about this on a 40k tabletop channel, and no one knew what I was talking about, and the channel banned me from commenting afterwards.

Contrary to what some people believe, the slippery slope argument isn't a fallacy. When you add clauses into a rule that break the rule, expect the rule to be further broken. When you invoke reasoning that isn't based on the rule to justify exceptions, expect more exceptions to be added because you've broken the logical consistency of the rule. You can no longer draw a logical line that won't appear arbitrary.
It can be a fallacy just depends on the context and what the slope is It can also be justified but it's all context based Quick edit: The stuff going on with 40k is likely one of those times where there is a slippery slope and will more than likely lead to worse shit in the future since we have seen this pattern of behavior before
Argument from fallacy is the fallacy here. Just because someone says you are making an argument that can be defined as a fallacy doesn't mean that it is wrong.

My brother and I both started playing young, he’s a lawyer now, I’m an electrician. We both still collect and play when we can, but 3-D printers have changed how we collect and expanded the kinds of tabletop we play; for instance I collect a lot of historic armies now and my brother does a lot of tanks and ships and such.

There are female members in various branches of the Adeptus organizations within the Imperium of Man in Warhammer 40k. However, not every branch includes women equally. Below are some notable Adeptus factions and their inclusion of female members: 1. Adepta Sororitas (Sisters of Battle): One of the most famous female-only branches in the Imperium, these warrior nuns serve the Ecclesiarchy. They are devout soldiers of the Emperor and excel in zeal and martial prowess. They use powered armor and bolter weapons, similar to the Space Marines, though they are not genetically modified like the Astartes. 2. Adeptus Mechanicus: The Tech-Priests of Mars include both men and women, though gender becomes less relevant as they undergo extensive cybernetic augmentation. Female Magos and other high-ranking members exist, but physical gender is often downplayed due to their focus on technology and machinery. 3. Adeptus Astra Telepathica: This branch manages psyker recruitment, and there are many female psykers who serve in roles like Astropaths (those who communicate across the stars) and Sanctioned Psykers in the Imperial Guard. 4. Adeptus Administratum: The bureaucratic arm of the Imperium has no gender restrictions. Countless men and women toil within this vast organization, keeping the Imperium’s paperwork and records in order. 5. Inquisition: Inquisitors can be male or female, drawn from various backgrounds. There are many notable female inquisitors, such as Inquisitor Katarinya Greyfax, who is part of the Ordo Hereticus, specializing in rooting out heresy within the Imperium. 6. Imperial Guard (Astra Militarum): Though less often depicted in the lore or miniatures, women serve in the Astra Militarum as soldiers, commanders, and other roles. The Valhallan Ice Warriors and Catachan Jungle Fighters are two regiments known for including female soldiers in their ranks. 7. Adeptus Arbites: The Arbites, the law enforcers of the Imperium, have both male and female members. They act as judge, jury, and executioner in enforcing Imperial law across planets. In contrast, the Adeptus Astartes (Space Marines) are exclusively male due to the genetic modifications and selection processes based on the Emperor’s original design.

Geneseed (the organic component used to create these organs) is rare and there's only so much of it. Each Space Marine is also injected with two progenoid glands, each of which can make a new marine. The rarity of geneseed is the limiting factor, not the candidates. I will note, however, that Custodes are not space marines and do not use geneseed. Rather, they are taken at infancy and modified through alchemical processes to be the absolute peak of human performance, each an individual and unique work of art. Their process hasn't been fully explored, so it COULD work on women, but the Ten Thousand were recruited from "Terra's noble sons".
Oh yeah, space marines only being male makes complete sense, you’d probably want as specific a baseline as you can get when using Geneseed. Custodes on the other hand, I’d honestly imagine it’d be a case where their selection criteria is just based on who has the most flexible and sturdy genes, to allow the metric fuck ton of augmentation done to them on a case by case basis. Really that’s why I have no issues with female Custodes, the only lore it “breaks” is minor blurbs where Custodes are referred to with He/Him pronouns, which are so minor it could honestly just be handwaved in lore as “the scribes only used he and him to save ink” (like what happened in the FFG TTRPG rules)

Trust me its a slippery slope. Im over 50 and looking back, we knocked the slippery slope idea too, but unfortunatelly we slid down the slope too far and there maybe no going back.
It is not so much like a slipery slope, but something like the following. Consider a sociery that has 4 groups(A,B,C and D) and now consider a position, lets say gay rights. Lets assume that group A wants homo supremacy, group B wants equality, group C wants lgbtq to be second class citizens and group D wants to kill all lgbtq people. If the status quo of the society is at the position B(equal rights and stuff) group B will try to preserve it there, while group A will start trying to push it to the left, and at the same time groups C and D will try to push it the right. The whole situation is like a rope and in this scenario unlikely allies can unite, because the current position of society is on the other side, but once the achieve victory, then they can turn against their former allies. I think to a degree this was the uneasy alliance between liberals(social democrats in particular) and socialists. Once liberals won specific points they turned on their former allies and they are now trying to preserve the status quo, while you have socialists who are trying to go further and conservatives, classical liberals and libertarians(even nazis) from the other side trying to push the rope in the other direction. The thing that conservatives are saying "see I told you they would not stop" does not make any sense using this lence, because everyone wants the rope to be at a specific point, so yes socialists would never stop pushing, but if you had 2 braincells you would already know that from the beginning. I think this is also the explanation as to why people like Asmon(who is around that camp) is turning on now turning against this woke stuff.
12:30 Because of how a Custodes is made? In the current setting Space Marines are roughly counted at a few thousand over a million. In an Empire of a million planets, there is not even 2 of these guys per planet. Guess where they recruit from. They recruit from almost any world, with the exception being Holy Terra itself. They can grab boys from literally any planet except what was Earth and the yet they can only make a million of these guys. Because when it comes to making a Space Marine It's kind of like making a weld and then smacking it with a hammer. If the weld holds you made a Space Marine, if not, the guy is dead. Well the child or teen is. However to make a Custodes they only recruit from not only earth also known as Holy Terra but exclusively from the noble families. And the thing is the only person who actually knew how to make one is a living corpse. So what they have been doing to make Custodes Is taking a child and treating it like a lock. They have one key and They are going around unlocking as many of these locks that are actually kids under the age of two and for every time it doesn't unlock it kills the lock but for every one in ten million they unlock it and make a new Custodes. They have no idea how to make a new one from scratch. If they didn't have this key already to Try on as many locks as possible they could never do it. But now they want to take what is effectively. A skeleton key from an 1800s jail and use it to unlock a fingerprint and retina scanner. That is how hard it would be to convert this to working on females and there is nobody who knows what they are doing. It is safe to assume they would literally kill off.Every single noble bloodline on holy terra before they would be able to get one percent of the progress towards making a femstodes.

It's not enough for the activists.
You don't get it: they HAVE to be in any male dominated space, even if fictional.
Yes. Guardsman? Contrary to what some people believe, the slippery slope argument isn't a fallacy. When you add clauses into a rule that break the rule, expect the rule to be further broken. When you invoke reasoning that isn't based on the rule to justify exceptions, expect more exceptions to be added because you've broken the logical consistency of the rule. You can no longer draw a logical line that won't appear arbitrary.

My brother and I both started playing young, he’s a lawyer now, I’m an electrician. @@Idontevenwanachannel true. The women were just always in the background while the men did the important stuff. What did GW mean by this🤔
There are female members in various branches of the Adeptus organizations within the Imperium of Man in Warhammer 40k. However, not every branch includes women equally. Below are some notable Adeptus factions and their inclusion of female members:
1. Adepta Sororitas (Sisters of Battle):
One of the most famous female-only branches in the Imperium, these warrior nuns serve the Ecclesiarchy. They are devout soldiers of the Emperor and excel in zeal and martial prowess. They use powered armor and bolter weapons, similar to the Space Marines, though they are not genetically modified like the Astartes.
2. Adeptus Mechanicus:
The Tech-Priests of Mars include both men and women, though gender becomes less relevant as they undergo extensive cybernetic augmentation. Female Magos and other high-ranking members exist, but physical gender is often downplayed due to their focus on technology and machinery.
3. Adeptus Astra Telepathica:
This branch manages psyker recruitment, and there are many female psykers who serve in roles like Astropaths (those who communicate across the stars) and Sanctioned Psykers in the Imperial Guard.
4. Adeptus Administratum:
The bureaucratic arm of the Imperium has no gender restrictions. Countless men and women toil within this vast organization, keeping the Imperium’s paperwork and records in order.
5. Inquisition:
Inquisitors can be male or female, drawn from various backgrounds. There are many notable female inquisitors, such as Inquisitor Katarinya Greyfax, who is part of the Ordo Hereticus, specializing in rooting out heresy within the Imperium.
6. Imperial Guard (Astra Militarum):
Though less often depicted in the lore or miniatures, women serve in the Astra Militarum as soldiers, commanders, and other roles. The Valhallan Ice Warriors and Catachan Jungle Fighters are two regiments known for including female soldiers in their ranks.
7. Adeptus Arbites:
The Arbites, the law enforcers of the Imperium, have both male and female members.

@@HelloHello33333You should really look up the term, "disillusionment."
@@HelloHello33333 you are just using unnecessarily complex words to sound smart, you can absolutely be a former loyalist, there simply needs to be a change, internal or external, usually a critical component causing the loyalty, like if one were to be loyal to someone because of the expectation of trust with any shared secrets, were this trust to be broken, thus severing the bond, they would become a "former" loyalist, thus the word "disillusionment", they were loyal to that person, due to an expectation of a certain trust, once reality became clear or the lack of an illusion ie. "Disillusionment", they would not be loyal to them, they may be still loyal to the former idea of that person, if someone exactly like that were to exist.
I would rather have GW abandon the idea of making live action, than having amazon perverting almost 40 years of lore.
'perverting' old lore? like those 40 year old female space marines models? tyranids being a bunch of alien races working together? necrons being soulless with no characters? necrona being chaos androids? this doesn't even pervert real lore implications, it's a minor retcon which doesn't really conflict. & many of the bigger retcons where good. & if you don't think so, go to the planet birmingham with inquisitior sherlock obiwan cluso

Voicing a concern and then promptly being removed or silenced forcefully for a period of time isn't "a problem" that isn't one in my humble opinion. But call me old fashioned. Freedom of speech is often one sided these days.
@@AUScorpion and I mostly agree with you that you shouldn’t need to be part of the same demographic as a character or group to enjoy them. For instance, I like Miles Morales even though I’m a man so white I should be legally classified as a saltine, but that doesn’t stop me from liking him as a character.
But I can also see why some people seeing someone that’s a part of their demographic being in this group would probably make them gravitate towards wanting to try them out. So I can at least see the appeal. What matters most is that they’re written well, and from what I’ve heard, Kesh (that’s the Femstodes name for anyone who didn’t know) is a pretty good character, or at least she doesn’t come off as the stereotypical “girl boss” character they expect us to love, but fail to make likable.

"Slippery slope" being a fallacy is only said by people who will take a mile if given an inch.
Exactly. Slippery Slope is not a fallacy at all.
@@SgtTeddybear66 I think this also falls under mob mentality. Sure, the one person given an inch might be satisfied and wont want to take a mile, but we are dealing with an online mob of countless people. Once one inch is given, somebody somewhere will want the second inch, and that will keep happening as long as the mob exists.

Now, just because it's a fallacy does it mean it's impossible for it to be right? Nope, it's just not valid in a formal logical argumentation, but totally valid in the practical sense when exercising simple pattern recognition as any normal person can do. Some arguments can be logically consistent and still be false, and some can be born from a fallacy but still be right. It's not set in stone, really, they're mainly about logic.

To put it into a car enthusiast perspective: This is like saying the Porsche 911 Carrera always came with a japanese inline 4 cylinder
Hey ngl an old 930 turbo with a k24 turbo seems like an absolute abomination of a build that I'd be totally down to see
With Subaru boxer, it might be similar but they are completely different platforms
More aptly, it'd be like when Porsche first put a turbo 4 in the boxster instead of the six. And then answering complaints with the insistence that the boxster always had a flat 4.

Slippery slope "fallacy" is a non-arguement. Slippery slopes do in fact exist lol...
@@konstantinoskinnas789I like your logic here.
