AAA studios have space marines running in blind getting mowed down, this guy finally shows us space marines in their beast modes and there is STILL suspense because 40k. When the Inquisitor got possessed and the SM just one shot punched through his face that was EXACTLY the response they have in canon, space marines are not wait and see plot pointers, they shoot first, shoot again, then stab it, then ask no questions... thats another branch of the administratum.

Run down on the talking in part 5: The orbs are some sort of warp entity or alien species with vast psychic powers. We see one that was captured by the Space Marines and it is sealed in a sort of cage, the other one was controlling the dudes on the other ship with it's powers. When the Astartes (space marines) walk in you see it pulses psychic energy at them in an attempt to gain control over their minds, hence when they sort of lock up and struggle to overcome it. Once they get up to it they stab in some gear to suppress it's powers so that they can transport it back to their ship. We now cut back to the space marine ship. We see 4 figures here, 3 marines and a robbed dude. The marines are slightly different than the others we've seen, one in the back wears normalize armor, probably just a fairly normal marine, the dude on the right has a white helm and shoulder pad, he is likely a sergeant and probably part of the captain's command squad as a second in command, the dude with the shoulder cape is almost certainly a Captain, he's the dude in charge here. The robbed guy has the classic I insignia of the Inquisition on him, they investigate all kind of shady shit and are kind of above the law. They have various Ordos dedicated to different tasks, such as the Ordo Xenos for alien stuff, in this case he probably belongs to the Ordo Malleous who investigate warp fuckery and psychic stuff like what we see here, but if those things are actually aliens then Ordo Xenos could be possible. He is likely not an Inquisitor himself as no inquisitor would risk themselves like this, he's very likely a sanctioned psyker affiliated with the inquisition and attached to this chapter of Space Marines (like how members of various military branches get attached to each other IRL). We see our daring psyker start listening in on the telepathic conversation between the two orbs, we can see the black smoke around his hands, a clear sign that he is using his psychic powers. Orb 1 is the on in chains, Orb 2 is the one that the marines just stabbed. Orb 2 calls out looking for others, Orb1 "who is here?" Orb2 "i have failed you, brother" (couldn't stop the marines or corrupt them) Orb1 "We have all failed" (he's captured) Orb1 "the Astartes defy our touch" (they have a hard time controlling them) "You must return... Break your seal!" (referring to the things that they just stabbed it with sealing its power) Orb2 "Impossible we'll never survive!" Orb1 "You must take them" Implying that Orb 2 (who just got stabbed) should take the Marines around him and bring them somewhere Our intrepid psyker then turns to the captain and yells through his mask (making it muffled) "Recall them immediately" because they're about to be yoinked by the Orb. The captain turns to the low ranking dude and the dude takes off running to radio the guys on the other ship telling them to bail. As the psyker had to speak here, he lost concentration and left himself open for a sec, so the orb posses him, we see him jolt upright, and he sees everything the Orb has seen. His mind can't handle it (possession is real nasty in 40K) realizing what's going on and that the dude is done for they execute him immediately before some real warp fuckery begins to happen. We see the sergeant on the enemy ship receive the message as he turns his head to the side but it's too late, they get sucked in. While inside some sort of warp space we see the creature's tendrils reaching out and grabbing the 5 marines, but then some black smoke stuff (the psyker's energy) smack the thing so it lets go and our dude gets dropped out in the middle of who knows where. It's really well done and awesome, and to anyone who is new to 40K welcome to the grimdark future, this ain't no happy sci-fi, this is a rather deep commentary on how dark, detestable, cruel, and arrogant humanity can really, and it comes with a side of even more darkness because it looks cool and makes for some awesome lore. This is the same franchise that in cannon teleportation into objects causes you to predictably meld with that object, and not in a fun way, like becoming part of a wall and basically dying on the spot because half your organs are missing or fused with other shit. If anyone is interested in the franchise, of course you can jump into the models if that's your thing, or the many many video games (the dawn of war series is really good), but if you just like the lore look up The Black Library, there are hundreds of books from many different skilled authors covering all different parts of the 40K universe, and if you want to know how the universe got so messed up check out books from the 30K side of things, which cover the 10 thousand years leading up to the current timeline. You'd be surprised, a lot of the big bookstore chains carry these books, Barnes and Nobles, Indigo, etc...

1234 Frankly, with this man’s track record, he could probably get away with only one or two more people and be set. Cuphead was made by a team of two for most of its development. All Astares would need is just enough staff to get content through more quickly and consistently. Money will sort increase as his work grows alongside his fan base.
Depends if he knows how to lead a team to make the production as seamless as it can or he might need a coordinator, but he should definitely direct it.
People need to stop saying he needs to be hired. He’s doing fine being his own boss. If a company hires him they’ll try and change is flow and art style. He can gain help from others but I would hate to see this be destroyed by some greedy company. (Edit: He got hired)

@@Utgarman the 2 orbs and the statue are relics from an xenos race know as the yu'vath they were an alien race that used technology that incorporated chaos powers and were corrupted by the warp the 2 psykers that the astartes fought in part 4 are also augmented with tech replicated from the yu'vath relics (you can see more masks that those psykers were wearing around the statue)
@@khamaellol6260 to even further elaborate on that, its thought that the spheres took control of the rebels and used them as a means to strengthen themselves, thus the statue, and the masks, 2 psykers having the same power is super rare, so its thought that the spheres were trying to protect themselves by making the masks and using people to wear them so that they had more protection. as for the statue, watched a vid, said he thought it was meant to be a vessel for the sphere in inhabit, idk but it seems like that could be it

What I love about Astartes is he tells a story with no words, does it alone, directs and makes it alone, asks for help but it is free if you can't help. This man could walk into any venture capital firm and get what he asks for.

3 years later, guy got hired by Games Workshop, unfortunately probably the worst outcome at the time. They snagged his animation, re-did the sound effects and music to post on their Warhammer TV subscription feed, and the guy's likely stuck in creative limbo to help churn out more animations for them. Granted, it might be the same reason why the Necrons animated featurette was so good, but it still sucks. Fans asked that he get hired and the Monkey's Paw's knuckle curled.
There are tons of details that make this absolutely amazing, and I am not talking just about graphics. Notice how the second space marine waited for the right moment to strike with his knife, notice how first two space marines attacking those psychics switched to full auto... Everything in this series is just incredible. Everyone watching this should watch or read at least a tiny bit of Warhammer 40k lore. It is crucial. Btw. at this point guy who made this should be a millionaire. Level of proffesionalism here is way above any hollywood production, and 1 guy made it. Insane.

It’s a live action.. Good God. Unless the budget is god tier, equal if not more than GoT, you can forget it will ever look 70% as good as this. And with crazy, God Emperor ‘offensive irl’ world building you can also forget about the budget altogether. Astartes channel on the other hand, are clearly more talented and can do it with a fraction of money and manpower. They only need to just hire him instead.
The problem with joining something like Netflix, is that the restrictions he's going to have to deal with, will ultimately hurt the series. If he can earn his money through this (And that looks to be the direction he is successfully heading in) and it grows and grows and he can build up a team, pump these out quicker, with longer videos, more stories... He can literally become a brand new wh40K focused studio, one that gets it right from the start. That is what I'm imagining, and I can't wait :D

The biggest downside of Psyker powers is that they're not Passive. You have to actively use them. Charging those dudes while they were distracted was a totally valid method. Assuming you use a Longlas or something Hitscan and had camo and/or was outside their earshot, (so no bullet travel time) you could straight just snipe a Psyker. It's also cool that the Inquisitor at least managed to save them before he died.

But the problem is, are they up to this kind of quality. I hate to say this, but I have low expectations for tv shows. The Witcher series is good but it barely got out unscathed. WH40k is high risk, high reward. But the marketing strategy of these companies appeal to those " Media " who know nothing about 40k and make outcries about damn " appropriate ideology ".
Let them try with their "appropriate ideology". Fans will call them heretics and we can see the fun begin with fans calling each other brothers and sisters vs the heretics. Then models and other 40k goodies will skyrocket in value which makes those sellers invest towards the fans.
The Witcher didn't get out unscathed. It's okay if looked at on its own but when compared to the books and the games, and as a translation of the books to the screens, the Netflix version is garbage.

Arch Warhammer goes into detail exactly what we're seeing here. Turns out those spheres are what remains of a warpfaring alien civilization long thought exterminated in the first crusade led by the Emperor himself. And that Inquisitor was trying to listen in on the conversation between both spheres.
Arch's analysis was pretty great but he was wrong on one detail. The Yu'vath weren't exterminated during the Great Crusade. The Emperor's war against them eventually came to a halt as the Horus Heresy became the main priority. They retained a small enclave in the galaxy, of a hundred or so systems (with a bunch of enslaved species serving as their slave armies), until the 39th millenium. They were then exterminated by Saint Drusus during the Angevin Crusade.
That sphere is called the Psychic Spheres of The Yu'Vath. An artefact from the old empire Yu Vath, who were around the year 39 M. The spheres has self awareness, a techno-warp device. There a 2 spheres, one in captivity and the other in process to be capture. The free sphere Recognize the Astartes, because in the milleium 39, they almost wipe out everyone. The free sphere were trying to capture the mind of the Astartes but it failed. Here is the what the 2 spheres were talking about: ¨Who is here?, We have all failed¨. ¨They have failed to build an army to rekindle their empire. The astartes deny our touch¨. ¨The Retributors are too strong to mind control! You must return.¨ The Sphere on the ship wants the one in the vault to escape to a hell-world before he to is captured. ¨Break your seal.¨ The Psychic Sphere on the ship finally has a mental path out of captivity. ¨We'll merge our minds¨. The Spheres merge minds so the one on the ship can finally escape. ¨You must take the alpha.¨ That when the inquisitor warns the captain to alert the Astartes to leave the area, but its to late. They were telported to a hell world of the Yu'Vath, and those corpses are the king of Yu'Vath. So, lets see if the future, the ALPHA (the dude with the red eye, who lost his arm) returns or what. Knowing Gw they will not.
You also forgot to mention, the black flare that killed the warp creature that was holding the Astartes in the warp was from the Inquisitor that got killed, as a last act of defiance.
I understand that most people know very little about 40k but the chat spamming grey knights, then seeing the I of the inquisition and spamming tech priest, follow by someone saying terminator armor when they saw the Captain, all of this happening in the span of 20 seconds nearly gave me an aneurysm. 1:21 this is not just a missile, its a boarding craft, those space marines are in it, its equipped with multimeltas and high powered laser arrays that cut a hole into the hull, and soften what they can't cut enough for the boarding craft to punch a hole through. 1:44 in a sense you're right, but these guys are wearing standard ships crew armor, for normal size humans, and their weapons are firing .45 caliber rounds at space marines, who stand a minimum of 7'6' tall unarmored, the space marines are using bolters that fire high explosive armor piercing rounds roughly the size of a coke can, easily capable of blasting through any standard human armor set you might find on a ship's crew, and the space marines are wearing heavy thick ceramite power armor, the equivalent of an M1 Abrams hull you can wear in terms of effective armor thickness. 2:35 on the contrary, this ship and its crew have proven a hard enough target or obstacle to overcome for the imperial navy, to warrant the deployment of a squad of Retributor space marines, the equivalent of a navy seal team with super powers, just to get them out of the way. Space marines are an extremely finite force in the imperium, each chapter consists of an enforced maximum of 1000 marines, excluding a few, and an entire squad is enough in some cases to control a very large piece of territory. Space marines are the cream of the crop, no one uses them unless they really REALLY need them. And this crew has proven good enough at what it does to warrant space marines being brought in to get rid of them. 3:25 this is 40k, its not about fair, he's one of a squad of 10 marines at most, and he's assaulting a ship with a crew of tens of thousands, minimum. He has very limited ammo, no reinforcements, and no way out besides taking the ship, so he HAS to be that tough, he HAS to be able to shrug off insane firepower if he's to survive long enough to take the ship. 4:30 these guys are psykers, the only way to kill them reliably under the circumstances is to get in close, so close their reaction time can't stop the hits, psykers can rarely focus on more than one thing at a time, you'll notice his squad is keeping them focused on blocking the incoming fire, keeping them both focused on something other than him as he charges in, when they blast his squad mates back, he fires his pistol, forcing the psyker to focus on blocking the incoming shots, allowing him to get that much closer. 7:19 They're space marines, they can see better in the dark than you can in the middle of the day, and that's without their helmets optical systems, with them, they see better than anything alive.

7:21 Astartes don't just have helmets with nightvision (though that probably too), they can just naturally see in the dark with their naked eye. They also have 2 hearts, 3 lungs, a ribcage impenetrable to small arms, acidic spit and more... yeah.
"These guys don't have armor" They do asmon, but a soldiers bullet proof vest won't protect them from a tank shell, that is kind of what boltor rounds are, in a more compact package, they explode inside their targets, and have rocket type propulsion for combat in zero g. The god emperor of mankind thought this through. Also, Part 1 states this is technically WH30K, as it says M39, millennia 39, not 40 or 41, so this is just a few millennia after Horus had his little tantrum. So it makes sense they only send in five special forces ops. It also makes sense for the chaos like iconography we see on the psykers hoods. It isn't chaos script as far as I can tell. But it is definitely inspired by it. 482 M39, 39th mellenia, year 482. This puts it in the middle of The Golgenna Consolidation, 353-558.M39. So thats a fun fact I guess. Also, again in part 1, we see either the Astartes ship navigator or another psyker in the background. At the end of the hallway, easily as tall as the space marines which made me think they were a psyker or a navigator. Could be something else like the chapter master without his armor as he looks to wear a robe but a space marine would rather be caught dead than without his armor. Another fun fact, the psykers are...far more powerful in lore in terms of grading. Some have rated the psykers in part 4 to be...delta class, certainly powerful against an ordinary soldier, and could in theory kill a space marine with enough time and effort. But there are psykers in the lore of 40k, who would treat the astartes like a particularly spicy taco bell dinner. Also, the thing in the warp is not necessarily a daemon, well, the blue glowing thing that is. The thing that attacks it most certainly would be. And a powerful one at that. Which makes me wonder, the sergeant, (black arrow) marine, had his hand blown off by his plasma pistol, exposing his skin and muscles and bone to the warp as well. Daemons are not particularly picky with who they hitch rides with. So maybe if there ever was a plan for part 6 the sergeant could be possessed, it is possible. Also, new to warhammer, TB put me into the gaming side of it and Kirioth and the controversial Arch helped me with the lore. And if you want to start somewhere, start with kirioths vid "why does 40k always win". Then if you want to learn why they are so op, I would recommend Arch for his take on warhammer lore.

Well, all powered armor is a rip off of Lensman so it goes to reason they look similar.
Katyusha Marikov Future based Armour is all the same. Tight form fitting under suits, looks good on the ladies, varying degrees of Layered armour plate in top..... Then the Space Marines are designed like, nah that’s not enough, as TheRussianBadger said so well, it’s a Range Rover of armour on them.

AAA studios have space marines running in blind getting mowed down, this guy finally shows us space marines in their beast modes and there is STILL suspense because 40k.
When the Inquisitor got possessed and the SM just one shot punched through his face that was EXACTLY the response they have in canon, space marines are not wait and see plot pointers, they shoot first, shoot again, then stab it, then ask no questions... thats another branch of the administratum.
i loved that, the first space marine turns his head into mist and the second just starts putting bullets into the body just to be sure!
I can't remember what channel I saw this reaction on, but there was this one guy calling all the rules and citing the lore as it was showing up.
Thought it was some of the coolest shit that this guy added SOOOOOOO much of the in-universe lore and details into this.

Run down on the talking in part 5:
The orbs are some sort of warp entity or alien species with vast psychic powers. We see one that was captured by the Space Marines and it is sealed in a sort of cage, the other one was controlling the dudes on the other ship with it's powers. When the Astartes (space marines) walk in you see it pulses psychic energy at them in an attempt to gain control over their minds, hence when they sort of lock up and struggle to overcome it. Once they get up to it they stab in some gear to suppress it's powers so that they can transport it back to their ship. We now cut back to the space marine ship. We see 4 figures here, 3 marines and a robbed dude. The marines are slightly different than the others we've seen, one in the back wears normalize armor, probably just a fairly normal marine, the dude on the right has a white helm and shoulder pad, he is likely a sergeant and probably part of the captain's command squad as a second in command, the dude with the shoulder cape is almost certainly a Captain, he's the dude in charge here. The robbed guy has the classic I insignia of the Inquisition on him, they investigate all kind of shady shit and are kind of above the law. They have various Ordos dedicated to different tasks, such as the Ordo Xenos for alien stuff, in this case he probably belongs to the Ordo Malleous who investigate warp fuckery and psychic stuff like what we see here, but if those things are actually aliens then Ordo Xenos could be possible. He is likely not an Inquisitor himself as no inquisitor would risk themselves like this, he's very likely a sanctioned psyker affiliated with the inquisition and attached to this chapter of Space Marines (like how members of various military branches get attached to each other IRL).
We see our daring psyker start listening in on the telepathic conversation between the two orbs, we can see the black smoke around his hands, a clear sign that he is using his psychic powers.
Orb 1 is the on in chains, Orb 2 is the one that the marines just stabbed. Orb 2 calls out looking for others,
Orb1 "who is here?"
Orb2 "i have failed you, brother"
(couldn't stop the marines or corrupt them)
Orb1 "We have all failed"
(he's captured)
Orb1 "the Astartes defy our touch"
(they have a hard time controlling them)
"You must return... Break your seal!" (referring to the things that they just stabbed it with sealing its power)
Orb2 "Impossible we'll never survive!"
Orb1 "You must take them"
Implying that Orb 2 (who just got stabbed) should take the Marines around him and bring them somewhere
Our intrepid psyker then turns to the captain and yells through his mask (making it muffled) "Recall them immediately" because they're about to be yoinked by the Orb. The captain turns to the low ranking dude and the dude takes off running to radio the guys on the other ship telling them to bail. As the psyker had to speak here, he lost concentration and left himself open for a sec, so the orb posses him, we see him jolt upright, and he sees everything the Orb has seen. His mind can't handle it (possession is real nasty in 40K) realizing what's going on and that the dude is done for they execute him immediately before some real warp fuckery begins to happen.
We see the sergeant on the enemy ship receive the message as he turns his head to the side but it's too late, they get sucked in. While inside some sort of warp space we see the creature's tendrils reaching out and grabbing the 5 marines, but then some black smoke stuff (the psyker's energy) smack the thing so it lets go and our dude gets dropped out in the middle of who knows where.
It's really well done and awesome, and to anyone who is new to 40K welcome to the grimdark future, this ain't no happy sci-fi, this is a rather deep commentary on how dark, detestable, cruel, and arrogant humanity can really, and it comes with a side of even more darkness because it looks cool and makes for some awesome lore. This is the same franchise that in cannon teleportation into objects causes you to predictably meld with that object, and not in a fun way, like becoming part of a wall and basically dying on the spot because half your organs are missing or fused with other shit. If anyone is interested in the franchise, of course you can jump into the models if that's your thing, or the many many video games (the dawn of war series is really good), but if you just like the lore look up The Black Library, there are hundreds of books from many different skilled authors covering all different parts of the 40K universe, and if you want to know how the universe got so messed up check out books from the 30K side of things, which cover the 10 thousand years leading up to the current timeline. You'd be surprised, a lot of the big bookstore chains carry these books, Barnes and Nobles, Indigo, etc...

they were an alien race that used technology that incorporated chaos powers and were corrupted by the warp
the 2 psykers that the astartes fought in part 4 are also augmented with tech replicated from the yu'vath relics (you can see more masks that those psykers were wearing around the statue)
@@khamaellol6260 to even further elaborate on that, its thought that the spheres took control of the rebels and used them as a means to strengthen themselves, thus the statue, and the masks, 2 psykers having the same power is super rare, so its thought that the spheres were trying to protect themselves by making the masks and using people to wear them so that they had more protection. as for the statue, watched a vid, said he thought it was meant to be a vessel for the sphere in inhabit, idk but it seems like that could be it

What I love about Astartes is he tells a story with no words, does it alone, directs and makes it alone, asks for help but it is free if you can't help. This man could walk into any venture capital firm and get what he asks for.

3 years later, guy got hired by Games Workshop, unfortunately probably the worst outcome at the time. They snagged his animation, re-did the sound effects and music to post on their Warhammer TV subscription feed, and the guy's likely stuck in creative limbo to help churn out more animations for them.
Granted, it might be the same reason why the Necrons animated featurette was so good, but it still sucks. Fans asked that he get hired and the Monkey's Paw's knuckle curled.
There are tons of details that make this absolutely amazing, and I am not talking just about graphics. Notice how the second space marine waited for the right moment to strike with his knife, notice how first two space marines attacking those psychics switched to full auto... Everything in this series is just incredible. Everyone watching this should watch or read at least a tiny bit of Warhammer 40k lore. It is crucial.
Btw. at this point guy who made this should be a millionaire. Level of proffesionalism here is way above any hollywood production, and 1 guy made it. Insane.

It’s a live action.. Good God. Unless the budget is god tier, equal if not more than GoT, you can forget it will ever look 70% as good as this. And with crazy, God Emperor ‘offensive irl’ world building you can also forget about the budget altogether.
Astartes channel on the other hand, are clearly more talented and can do it with a fraction of money and manpower. They only need to just hire him instead.
The problem with joining something like Netflix, is that the restrictions he's going to have to deal with, will ultimately hurt the series. If he can earn his money through this (And that looks to be the direction he is successfully heading in) and it grows and grows and he can build up a team, pump these out quicker, with longer videos, more stories... He can literally become a brand new wh40K focused studio, one that gets it right from the start.
That is what I'm imagining, and I can't wait :D
The man has over 8K patrons, assuming all of them donate 1$ that’s 8K a month, and probably most donate like 5 so that’s A LOT. He won’t get poor any time soon.
The biggest downside of Psyker powers is that they're not Passive. You have to actively use them. Charging those dudes while they were distracted was a totally valid method. Assuming you use a Longlas or something Hitscan and had camo and/or was outside their earshot, (so no bullet travel time) you could straight just snipe a Psyker.
It's also cool that the Inquisitor at least managed to save them before he died.

But the problem is, are they up to this kind of quality. I hate to say this, but I have low expectations for tv shows. The Witcher series is good but it barely got out unscathed. WH40k is high risk, high reward. But the marketing strategy of these companies appeal to those " Media " who know nothing about 40k and make outcries about damn " appropriate ideology ".

The Witcher didn't get out unscathed. It's okay if looked at on its own but when compared to the books and the games, and as a translation of the books to the screens, the Netflix version is garbage.

Arch Warhammer goes into detail exactly what we're seeing here. Turns out those spheres are what remains of a warpfaring alien civilization long thought exterminated in the first crusade led by the Emperor himself. And that Inquisitor was trying to listen in on the conversation between both spheres.
Arch's analysis was pretty great but he was wrong on one detail. The Yu'vath weren't exterminated during the Great Crusade. The Emperor's war against them eventually came to a halt as the Horus Heresy became the main priority. They retained a small enclave in the galaxy, of a hundred or so systems (with a bunch of enslaved species serving as their slave armies), until the 39th millenium. They were then exterminated by Saint Drusus during the Angevin Crusade.

That sphere is called the Psychic Spheres of The Yu'Vath. An artefact from the old empire Yu Vath, who were around the year 39 M.
The spheres has self awareness, a techno-warp device.
There a 2 spheres, one in captivity and the other in process to be capture.
The free sphere Recognize the Astartes, because in the milleium 39, they almost wipe out everyone.
The free sphere were trying to capture the mind of the Astartes but it failed.

You also forgot to mention, the black flare that killed the warp creature that was holding the Astartes in the warp was from the Inquisitor that got killed, as a last act of defiance.

I understand that most people know very little about 40k but the chat spamming grey knights, then seeing the I of the inquisition and spamming tech priest, follow by someone saying terminator armor when they saw the Captain, all of this happening in the span of 20 seconds nearly gave me an aneurysm. It's not a boarding torpedo, I'm pretty sure that it was a Shark Assault Boat, which flies over to enemy ships and uses a fuckton of lasers to melt its way into the ship. Welcome to 40k, there is no fair.
But the Shark Assault Boat is used by the Imperial Navy. It could be some kind of Caestus Assault Ram.

1:21 this is not just a missile, its a boarding craft, those space marines are in it, its equipped with multimeltas and high powered laser arrays that cut a hole into the hull, and soften what they can't cut enough for the boarding craft to punch a hole through.
1:44 in a sense you're right, but these guys are wearing standard ships crew armor, for normal size humans, and their weapons are firing .45 caliber rounds at space marines, who stand a minimum of 7'6' tall unarmored, the space marines are using bolters that fire high explosive armor piercing rounds roughly the size of a coke can, easily capable of blasting through any standard human armor set you might find on a ship's crew, and the space marines are wearing heavy thick ceramite power armor, the equivalent of an M1 Abrams hull you can wear in terms of effective armor thickness.
2:35 on the contrary, this ship and its crew have proven a hard enough target or obstacle to overcome for the imperial navy, to warrant the deployment of a squad of Retributor space marines, the equivalent of a navy seal team with super powers, just to get them out of the way. Space marines are an extremely finite force in the imperium, each chapter consists of an enforced maximum of 1000 marines, excluding a few, and an entire squad is enough in some cases to control a very large piece of territory. Space marines are the cream of the crop, no one uses them unless they really REALLY need them. And this crew has proven good enough at what it does to warrant space marines being brought in to get rid of them.
3:25 this is 40k, its not about fair, he's one of a squad of 10 marines at most, and he's assaulting a ship with a crew of tens of thousands, minimum. He has very limited ammo, no reinforcements, and no way out besides taking the ship, so he HAS to be that tough, he HAS to be able to shrug off insane firepower if he's to survive long enough to take the ship.
4:30 these guys are psykers, the only way to kill them reliably under the circumstances is to get in close, so close their reaction time can't stop the hits, psykers can rarely focus on more than one thing at a time, you'll notice his squad is keeping them focused on blocking the incoming fire, keeping them both focused on something other than him as he charges in, when they blast his squad mates back, he fires his pistol, forcing the psyker to focus on blocking the incoming shots, allowing him to get that much closer.

7:21 Astartes don't just have helmets with nightvision (though that probably too), they can just naturally see in the dark with their naked eye.
They also have 2 hearts, 3 lungs, a ribcage impenetrable to small arms, acidic spit and more...

They do asmon, but a soldiers bullet proof vest won't protect them from a tank shell, that is kind of what boltor rounds are, in a more compact package, they explode inside their targets, and have rocket type propulsion for combat in zero g. The god emperor of mankind thought this through.
Also, Part 1 states this is technically WH30K, as it says M39, millennia 39, not 40 or 41, so this is just a few millennia after Horus had his little tantrum. So it makes sense they only send in five special forces ops. It also makes sense for the chaos like iconography we see on the psykers hoods. It isn't chaos script as far as I can tell. But it is definitely inspired by it. 482 M39, 39th mellenia, year 482. This puts it in the middle of The Golgenna Consolidation, 353-558.M39. So thats a fun fact I guess.
Also, again in part 1, we see either the Astartes ship navigator or another psyker in the background. At the end of the hallway, easily as tall as the space marines which made me think they were a psyker or a navigator. Could be something else like the chapter master without his armor as he looks to wear a robe but a space marine would rather be caught dead than without his armor.
Another fun fact, the psykers are...far more powerful in lore in terms of grading. Some have rated the psykers in part 4 to be...delta class, certainly powerful against an ordinary soldier, and could in theory kill a space marine with enough time and effort. But there are psykers in the lore of 40k, who would treat the astartes like a particularly spicy taco bell dinner.
Also, the thing in the warp is not necessarily a daemon, well, the blue glowing thing that is. The thing that attacks it most certainly would be. And a powerful one at that. Which makes me wonder, the sergeant, (black arrow) marine, had his hand blown off by his plasma pistol, exposing his skin and muscles and bone to the warp as well. Daemons are not particularly picky with who they hitch rides with. So maybe if there ever was a plan for part 6 the sergeant could be possessed, it is possible.
Also, new to warhammer, TB put me into the gaming side of it and Kirioth and the controversial Arch helped me with the lore. And if you want to start somewhere, start with kirioths vid "why does 40k always win". Then if you want to learn why they are so op, I would recommend Arch for his take on warhammer lore.
