Similar situation for me but in my case I couldn’t collect the pre configured car within their time requirement as I’m away. They refunded my 250 when I argued with them. I’m taking your advice and visiting the dealership when making my next order.
Hi Marcus, good to see you again. In Swedish newspapers you can read about car manufacturers' reservation fees. Tesla is, unfortunately, not the one manufacturer that "borrows" money for free from its customers. In Sweden, today is not the time (and this saves me lot's of money) to buy a Tesla. There is an ongoing conflict between Tesla and the unions. Same conflict in Sweden as in other countries, but right now Tesla is hit by a blockade. There is speculation about whether Tesla will remain in Sweden or leave the country. Given how flexible Mr. Musk tends to be, the odds of Tesla staying are high.
any updates cause I can remember the days when the news were full of swedish post clerks rejecting to deliver car papers to the customers to simply join the unions fight with tesla for their workers against Tesla. Also the prices of model 3 had been cut due to lower demand. Obvious choice and also smart to give you want you had been asking for cause the damage of you returning a used car would be higher cause the then used car could only be sold for less than the brand new inventory. BUT: in case that the economy is turning and demand increases your advice can turn into the opposite cause tesla will raise prices again if they can which means shippings to europe and portugal are smaller than demand, their sales out look is great, inventory is decreasing and then you will see a 10% higher price unless the competition might release better and newer cars for less money which would mean they could not raise prices without losses saleswise. And what you mean is that you have to look for the inventory on a daily basis not just a weekly basis and also look for other models what might be going on in the inventory , also if you can identify a pattern like the rhythm of deliveries for portugal and if there is a real stock and inventory and how long that lasts. At the end it is a kind of gamble and all the rental car companies have bailed out on that gamble due to the depreciation risks once they bought a car and the amount of effort , money and time to get the used cars fixed with spare parts from tesla to sell them for highest bids. Works with any car company but not with tesla and therefore Hertz canceled the tesla cars in their fleet and also Sixt former Sixt / budget and some more.
True. It is my understanding that Tesla does not work well for hire car companies because they don’t give huge discounts like the legacy manufacturers. There business model is to basically sell the car for the same price they purchased it for, plus the money from renting it.
