Amazing Trails and Campsite Overlanding Land Between the Lakes - Part 2
ฝัง
- เผยแพร่เมื่อ 20 ต.ค. 2024
- We spent 3 nights and 3 days Overlanding at Land Between the Lakes Recreation Area in Kentucky and Tennessee. We had 3 Jeep JKUs, 1 Jeep JLU, 1 Jeep LJ, 1 Toyota DCLB Tacoma, and 1 Land Rover Discovery. We would camp at different locations each night along the shoreline and wheel each day. In part 2 we explore the Tennessee side and find some nice technical trails that test the ability of the off road trailers we had with us and find the best camping spot on the trip!

I don't care which one let's just stop changing the time twice a year. Lol! Awesome wheeling video!
We’ve been there twice. It’s an amazing place to camp and trail ride!
I was there the same weekend that you were. We were also on the west side coast line during that monstrosity of a storm. My Gazelle held up pretty well, but the other ground tents didn't fair so well. Had several sleeping in their vehicles. During a wind advisory, next time I will be more inland.
That's awesome! Makes for great memories!! LOL
Great videos! I will be down there in Oct of 2024... looking forward to it!
Every time I watch one of your videos, I just think "Why am I not in your convoy?" :D Awesome trip and great video as always.
Well let’s make that happen!!!
@@OzarkOverlandAdventures We will!
Awesome off-roading
Been there But with our horses and loved it, so much history sew the little drummer boys grave site and the blue hole were iron was made. Nose video!
Done lots of 4weel camping. Love it. I will say in your video we always took 4weelin to the next exterime . Love your video brings back the good old days.
Awesome! Thank you!
I was there this year. It’s a fun place
Been through LBtL many times, as it lies between us in STL and my family in NAS... never done any trail riding though! I've been watching your channel the last couple weeks wondering if my Syncro Westy Vanagon would be able to hang. Seen some rock crawling stuff you do that I don't think i'd be down for... but otherwise it appears do-able. For sure I'd have the best camp setup though! ;) lol
Westys are awesome!! I love them!
We definitely need to head down your way and enjoy the beautiful scenery!
Yes you do!
“5$ to see no bison”, had me cracking up.
😂😂
Great job, again, Matt. It was a great trip!
Ready for more!!
That’s some good Drone flying... definitely need to improve my skill there! Another Great video!
Thank you!!
GREAT VIDEO! love woods trails the best.
Thanks!!
Nice gravy n biscuit. You need to try tomato gravy n biscuit.
I've heard of that. Never had an opportunity to try it.
Looks like a great time. My wife are planning a trip up there in late spring
You’ll love it.
Some days the bison herd is so thick you can't drive down the road, and they come right up to the car, i live right by there
That’s awesome. That’s what I was hoping for. Lol.
@@OzarkOverlandAdventures but you can always see them in the southern area like you did
@@jimbo4203 thanks for the info!!
I was leaning towards getting a trailer but now I’m thinking more of a dedicated rig. Have you done a video on the pros/cons of having a dedicated rig vs pulling a trailer?
Try the 300 trails next time on ky side. 305 308. But leave the trailers at campground also ferguson spring trail off of jenny ridge road
LOL I KNEW you were going to say something about FREE Bison!!!!! We are hoping to go up to LBTL this spring! Thinking about going the trailer route, what size tires do the trailers have?
😂😂 I’ve got 32s on mine. Not sure what James has on his.
Great video of the area I live in! Just wish we had a 4x4 vehicle to get to where y’all did. Where was that last place you camped. I saw it was by a water trial put in spot.
You found the cool log spring house.... there is several hidden gems like that throughout lbl..
I want to get back and explore some more!
Looks like a fun time! Would a stock gladiator Mojave make it through, are there places to bypass most of the tough spots you’ve showed?
I’m impressed with that Land Rover, it appears to be bone stock. And went everywhere y’all went. I love LBL, I live about 20 minutes from the North end on the other side of Livingston county. Take my ‘97 TJ out there every free weekend I have.
It did really well except for breaking down which they are prone to do. lol
@@OzarkOverlandAdventures Haha, yeah I was commenting as I was watching and then that happened. Cool video, I really enjoyed watching and you got a new subscriber. Happy trails!!
@@OzarkOverlandAdventuresProbably a stock front propshaft. That’s one of the mandatory upgrades on discos. Stock ones aren’t heavy duty and don’t have greasable u-joints.
some of those more technical trails, looks like some of y'all weren't disconnected?
I was.
I seen the silver jeep w/white trailer was@@OzarkOverlandAdventures
If you tried to have something like this where I live, the 4 wheeler guys would be making their own trails all over the woods ripping them up and the trails would be so bad from all the monster trucks turning the place into they’re own mud park it wouldn’t be open long.
Man that sucks!!!
Is there plenty of room for a Full Size Truck on the trails? (That doesn't mind a little pinstriping..)
Yes, full size would be fine on pretty much everything that we did.
Definitely!!
@@OzarkOverlandAdventures @James Chaisson Thanks for the replys! Now to just find a nice tour guide like yall had! Or Start studying the maps I guess lol
So not sure if it's possible but any chance to get the GPS of the trails you ran on both days? Yes im part of your patron and facebook
Those are in my Gaia Patreon folders. You should have access to them.
@@OzarkOverlandAdventures ok thanks
Others shouldn't follow your example here as driving on any of the beaches in LBL is not allowed (Turkey Bay is private land) and will end up getting you a fine or worse.
We only camped on the beach one night and that spot was obviously a very popular camping spot.
the land rover comment was harsh... my feelings would be hurt but i find myself working on my rover alot also.... lol
😂😂
It is elk and bison preserve actually. I like watching the offroading, but really not anything else on the channel.
Thanks for the honesty.
I’ve noticed all of your trips are in the deep fall after there are no leaves on the trees is there a reason for that or is that just when you travel
I travel year round. But in the south we do prefer the cooler temps of fall through Spring. Check out my videos from this year and you will see a lot of leaves on the trees.
What trailer brand you using?
It's a VRV Eco Flyer. Sadly the company went out of business last year.
32:46 This is making me so hungry! 🤤
is there a video that tells what the set up is on ur rig and those that u wheel with?
I have a video on my JKU Rubicon setup. I also have a video on my friend's 4Runner. I'll be doing a video next week on my Gladiator.
Do you provide GPX files for your trips? I’m heading to LBL next weekend and would like to hit your Night 2 camp site.
All of my routes and waypoints are available to my Patreon subscribers - including my LBL trip. LBL is awesome!
Does that lil oven box just sit on the coleman?
Sure does.
@@OzarkOverlandAdventures I haven't seen one like that before where did you find it if don't mind me asking?
@@edgreen2526 Amazon. Click on my Amazon link in the description. It’s in there.
Do you happen to remember the camp sight you stayed at next to the lake?
Which one?
@@OzarkOverlandAdventures The last night you were there.
What trails did you take on the TN side of lbl
374, 375, 214, 213, 211, 206, 220 and 376
Awesome man thanks very much. We have done alot more on the KY side. Thanks
👍👍👍👍
So slow , get a dirt bike and have some real fun .
I’m not in a hurry. We go to enjoy these places not speed by things. 🤷🏼♂️
A native elder knows, only a white person would cut the top off of a blanket just to sew it on the bottom in order to keep his feet warm. 😁
Sounds deep. Lol. Not sure how it applies.
